Awesome-just what we needed!

My daughter, who was 5-1/2, was still sucking her thumb before bed and to comfort herself. After a trip to the dentist which emphasized the damage thumb sucking can do after 4/5, we decided to get serious. I'd read some people say that kids will eventually give the thumb up on their own, but it was not happening. I know my husband's cousin had to have a dental appliance inserted at 13 to get her to quit. So I read the reviews on this product and purchased it.
I read my daughter a book about quitting habits, told her why she needed to quit and painted MAVALA on her fingernails. WOW! That was the end of thumb sucking for her. She forgot a time or two and when knew as soon as she did because she had just an awful face. Eating food with the hands after they get this stuff on their fingers can taste bad too, so beware. I can't believe a habit that persistent could be so easily cured. THANKS

My three year old daughter was sucking her thumb. No convincing and reward system could get her to stop. One application of this product and she was done sucking her thumb. It really helped her to realize when she was putting her thumb in her mouth.
Wow..it worked

My pediatrician recommended this to us for my 2 year old daughter's thumb sucking habit. We had tried whatever we could and had given up our hopes..and then the miracle happened. We just applied Mavala for a couple of times, and bingo...No more thumb sucking..
Thanks a ton to Mavala..
This really works

Sadly both my sons are nail biters. We have tried bribing and punishing and quite a few ointments. Nothing worked in the longterm. Both agree: this stuff is really nasty! They hate the taste, but they want it on their nails as it really stops them. Actually it has become a joke in school as to who can lick Mavala and not gag- so far no one. Oh, and the good news: they both have nails now. Great product.

I tried this product for 2 weeks with my son and he didn't suck his finger for the first couple of days, but shortly got used to the taste and proceeded to suck his finger to this day.
His finger sucking and nail biting is not consistent all the time, but he does it periodically.
This works!

this product really does work. I tested it on my thumb nail before using it on my four year old. It is really icky and horrible. you definatedly know it is there. It finally wore off in about three days. My son finally stopped sucking his thumb after about 2 days. The only disadvantage of this product is if you eat finger foods you will get the peppery taste until it wears off.
Great product to stop thumb sucking

My 7-year-old daughter was still sucking her thumb at night, in the car or whenever tired. We had tried everything with no luck. A friend recommended Mavala Stop and it worked great. We only had to apply it twice and she has stopped completely. I highly recommended this product!

This is amazing product. After reading all good reviews, I decided to buy MAVALA. My daughter (2yrs and 9mths) was bitting her nails instantly, and nothing would worked. As soon as I received Mavala, we did manicure. She tried a couple of times to bite, but the next day, the habit is gone. I do apply the product, time after time, just in case. I'm so glad it worked. Thank you all for reviewing this product, and thank you MAVALA.
No more thumbsucking

My husband and I tried it first and YUCK! It was gross. So we put it on her nails and went to bed without sucking her thumb that evening. It has been several months and every now and then we catch her trying to sneak it back in so we reapply and VOILA! She is starting to understand the concept. I've recommended to many others with much appreciation.

I believe this product is very good I started with my 3yr. daughter she sucks her thumb all the time day and night. This product really worked I seen a difference the only thing is that I did not have it long before I lost it. Now I am in the process of ordering more. I think the secret is to make sure you keep it on all the time if possible. I am going to try it again. I wished they sold it in stores.

My 3 year old son sucked this stuff right off and said "Please don't put that yucky stuff back on my thumb because it tastes bad but I can still suck my thumb." We tried it once more, but he continued to suck his thumb through the night.
It worked for us!

I was skeptical this was going to work since my daughter was so determined to suck her thumb, even though her teeth were moving and her dentist (whom she adored) told her not to and that he would be checking on her (not really but like a Santa thing). That didnt work. We kept talking to her about it and explaining why it was bad - still no worky. We tried this and immediately there was a response (crying as to why she had to have this on her nail). But with a commitment to putting it on her thumb nails each night it was only about 2 weeks before it stopped and we have continued for a whole month to get the new habit down of not sucking. She is happy, we are happy, and hopefully her teeth will forgive her and move back. This worked for us and if it didnt we would have moved onto the plastic hand device that wont allow suction or a seal to occur. Thankfully this worked and hopefully will work for you too.
not for our little one

This product was referred to us by a family with a child who even deformed his mouth from sucking on his thumb so much, but it didn't work for us. Our little one is determined, and though it tastes AWFUL and should work, it doesn't seem to be our solution.

We tried a few other products to get our five year old to stop thumb sucking. Nothing ever worked except Mavala. After years of thumb sucking, he stopped in one night after applying this to his fingernail. Once he had a relapse and started sucking again, but I apply the Mavala and he stops right away.

I need to get my 3 year old to stop sucking her thumb so we decided to "paint our nails" one day and I used this. I did it for a few days and she completely stopped sucking her thumb. It worked perfect and I still have it in case she starts up again.
This is the best item ever for nail biting!!!!!

We have tried Thumbz, a product you can buy locally, gloves, band aids, and even paying to remind our son not ot bit his nails and nothing worked till this. He is so proud to show he has nails and how he doesnt bite them in class anymore. Thank you sooooo much.
It works!

We did something different with our 3 1/2 year old. We asked her to stop sucking her thumb. She said okay I will stop Saturday. She did not suck her thumb on Saturday but Sunday morning there it was back in her mouth. So we began searching for this product. We read some of the reviews posted and came up with our solution.
We told her sometime soon here thumb was going to start tasting different. We would ask her in the morning if it tasted different. Nothing. Then one night we applied a small amount to both thumbs. When she woke up in the morning she said "mommy it happened my thumb is icky". I applied to the whole finger that night. the next day she by habit put her thumb in her mouth again it was worse. She was done! she did not like the taste of her thumb. it has not entered her mouth again. She is getting to go see DIEGO tonight with her dad. I would not apply it in front of your child. do it while they are sleeping.
good luck.
