My little girl has been sucking her thumb since she was in the womb (we have photos)! After four days using "Mavala Stop" she has not sucked her thumb since!
It worked for my 6 year old and helped me too!

I had been trying to get my 6 year old daughter to stop sucking her thumb for as long as I can remember. We've tried several things and nothing worked. We bought Mavala and she was gung ho about putting it on because she "wanted" to stop sucking her thumb. Well, the first night when we put it on, she woke up in the middle of the night and had a disgusting taste in her mouth. She wanted a drink to get the nasty taste out. The next night she wanted nothing to do with the Mavala. It kind of traumatized her to be honest. Since then she hasn't sucker her thumb regularly. She will pop it in once in a blue moon while she's sleeping but this is rare. She almost went cold turkey and she still refuses to put it on her thumb. I'm fine with that as long as she keeps it out of her mouth.
I have a bad habit of biting my nails and I used it too. Yuck! I've been a lot better at keeping my fingers away from my mouth. It's tough though, because when you want to lick your fingers after eating a "finger food", you'll get a mouthfull of Mavala too. I guess that's the price you pay to break an old bad habit.
I definitely recommend this product for the young and old!

Troy sucked his thumb since before he was born. Now in first grade he only sucked it when he was watching TV and relaxing or going to bed, but we felt it was time for him to stop. He was embarassed by it.
After 1 horrible fit and 1 night of difficulty sleeping he is cured. And he is sooo PROUD. The first week he drueled a lot in his sleep and would wake up once in a while and brush his teeth to get the taste out of his mouth, but I am very happy with this product.
I also put this on the frames of his glasses which he had a tendency to chew on. Worked for that too.

We bought this for my 6 year old who was a hardcore thumbsucker. We had an orthodontist put a thumbsucking appliance on him twice, six months each time and that didn't work. When we bought this product, he stopped in two weeks. We dpn't even need to put it on him anymore. This product is completely worth it!

MAVALA stop work wonders for my daughters thumb sucking. It came to an end after one night of use. For good measure I continued to apply MAVALA at night after she was a sleep. She thought her thumbs just started tasting horrible. GREAT STUFF!
Not worth the money

It washes off in a day. They are cheapier brands that stay on for days. It does taste bad. I have definitly had better. Also everytime i order from Folica theres a problem. This time they sent me two of the same order. Differnt packaging so i had to pay double shipping. I returned the one (never opened )and still had to pay for that shipping. Not impressed
This product really works

My daughter had been sucking her thumb for 4 years. I put this on her thumb before bedtime, and after the second night she had quit sucking her thumb. It's been 3 months now and she has not sucked her thumb. My husband and I were shocked at how well this worked, and VERY pleased with the product.
Stopped My 4 year olds Thumb Sucking

This product was excellent in stopping my 4 year old from sucking his thumb. I had tried other products on the market but none of them worked. It last for quite a while also. I did not have to re-apply everyday. He actually like the cooling feeling when I put it on his thumb and took pride in the fact that he wasn't sucking his thumb anymore. He was a night sucker, so he would suck his thumb with out knowing all night. So... I continued to use the product with him for a month just to make sure the habit was broken. Its been a couple of months now and his thumb sucking has completely stopped even at night. THIS PRODUCT WORKS! - for those moms in desperate need of a solution to your childs thumb sucking.

This product was my last resort after biting my nails since I was 2... I am 29! I have had acrylic nails to stop from biting and that works but is costly and time consuming. This product has a very unique/bitter/aweful taste that is very hard to get used to or adapt to if you are like me and just sucked the THUM right off your fingers. It was a terrific deterrent and although my nails grew slowly at first, now they even have white around the tips!!! The only draw back is that you have to be careful when eating with your fingers. I found that the product transfered to the top lip even if I wasn't chewing my nails and my husband became an unwilling taste tester any time he leaned in for a kiss. He doesn't mind since he knows it is working so well... but lick your lips and you get it all over again! Good Luck and definitely give this product a try! I even told my Dr. about it cause he had even prescribed meds for this compulsion! This worked 100x better!
Awesome-just what we needed!

My daughter, who was 5-1/2, was still sucking her thumb before bed and to comfort herself. After a trip to the dentist which emphasized the damage thumb sucking can do after 4/5, we decided to get serious. I'd read some people say that kids will eventually give the thumb up on their own, but it was not happening. I know my husband's cousin had to have a dental appliance inserted at 13 to get her to quit. So I read the reviews on this product and purchased it.
I read my daughter a book about quitting habits, told her why she needed to quit and painted MAVALA on her fingernails. WOW! That was the end of thumb sucking for her. She forgot a time or two and when knew as soon as she did because she had just an awful face. Eating food with the hands after they get this stuff on their fingers can taste bad too, so beware. I can't believe a habit that persistent could be so easily cured. THANKS

My three year old daughter was sucking her thumb. No convincing and reward system could get her to stop. One application of this product and she was done sucking her thumb. It really helped her to realize when she was putting her thumb in her mouth.
Wow..it worked

My pediatrician recommended this to us for my 2 year old daughter's thumb sucking habit. We had tried whatever we could and had given up our hopes..and then the miracle happened. We just applied Mavala for a couple of times, and bingo...No more thumb sucking..
Thanks a ton to Mavala..

Sadly both my sons are nail biters. We have tried bribing and punishing and quite a few ointments. Nothing worked in the longterm. Both agree: this stuff is really nasty! They hate the taste, but they want it on their nails as it really stops them. Actually it has become a joke in school as to who can lick Mavala and not gag- so far no one. Oh, and the good news: they both have nails now. Great product.
Didn't work

I tried this product for 2 weeks with my son and he didn't suck his finger for the first couple of days, but shortly got used to the taste and proceeded to suck his finger to this day.
His finger sucking and nail biting is not consistent all the time, but he does it periodically.

this product really does work. I tested it on my thumb nail before using it on my four year old. It is really icky and horrible. you definatedly know it is there. It finally wore off in about three days. My son finally stopped sucking his thumb after about 2 days. The only disadvantage of this product is if you eat finger foods you will get the peppery taste until it wears off.
Great product to stop thumb sucking

My 7-year-old daughter was still sucking her thumb at night, in the car or whenever tired. We had tried everything with no luck. A friend recommended Mavala Stop and it worked great. We only had to apply it twice and she has stopped completely. I highly recommended this product!
