My 3 1/2 year old daughter was an avid thumbsucker, and we had tried everything short of a guard or an orthodontic appliance. Skeptically, we bought the Mavala as a last ditch effort. Within two weeks (applying every other day) she had broken the habit all together! We are sharing this product with our friends and doctors!

I ordered this product for my 19 month old daughter. She was constantly sucking her thumb. Within two weeks, she stopped the thumb sucking completely. I only had to apply the polish for about 10 days.

The first night my 5 year old son really hated the taste. He tried to suck it off and ignore it, but kept gagging and eventually threw up his dinner. After two days, he got used to the taste even if I applied it daily. It's an inexpensive option to try first though. The reviews show it worked for some kids.
MAVALA Stop is a must have!

This product really works. I have a four year old who has sucked her thumb since birth. It took less then a week for her to stop sucking her thumb.
I am a real parent and these are true statements. MAVALA Stop is a must have!

We tried another brand, Thum, because it was found in the local drugstore and I didn't want to pay shipping and handling fees. However, after using it for 2 weeks we were still unsuccessful in getting my daughter to stop sucking her thumb so we ordered Stop and after only 2 applications she quit sucking her thumb. It has a really bad bitter taste which sticks with you for awhile. I would definitely recommend it as it worked wonders for us!

This product did not work for us at all! The first day she did not suck her fingers. After that it was like she got used to the product - no matter how thick or often I would apply it.

I've been a nailbiter for almost 40 years. It's become a subconscious nasty habit. Finally decided to end it, have tried other products ("no-thumb") that didn't work as well. So far after three weeks it's been working, but because my habit is so ingrained I need to keep applying it every day. Would recommend this product.

My 4 1/2 year old daughter is a serious thumb sucker and this was my last hope before getting the dental appliance. It worked for the first 1 1/2 days but after that she just kept sucking it off. I was applying it 2 times a day and it did not deter her. I must admit it tastes AWFUL but that did not seem to stop her. I put it on the first night when she was sleeping and she woke up early in the morning about 5:00 am crying that she had a nasty taste in her mouth. The remainder of that day she did really well and part of the next day but after that it was all over. I was really hoping it would help so she will be getting the Bluegrass appliance this week.

I used this on my daughter because she sucks her fingers. She cried for about two hours and then just started sucking her fingers as if there was no polish on them. I tried this for 4 nights and after the 3rd night she was use to the taste so she didnt hesitate to stick her fingers in her mouth. I do not recommend this polish for people trying to get their kids to stop sucking their fingers.

my eight year old and my five year old would both constantly suck their thumbs.by the end of the first week my five year old stopped and she felt like a big girl now,my eight year old took one more week but now she's very proud to have stopped sucking her thumb.
My son no longer sucks his thumb!

Well, I was skeptical. I read the review on Amazon and they were ALL great. There was one who said ... if you can't bring yourself to taste it ... than don't order it. Well, that made me hesitate to order it ... but I did in the end. It smells terrible and it tastes terrible ... my son completely agreed. He was such an avid thumb sucker and really unwilling ... but two stomach flus in less than a week ... said "time to give up having fingers in our mouth." I think this is way better than those awful and expensive devices you can order that they wear on their thumb. At night ... my son does wear a band aid on his thumb as it isn't something he can conciously not do when he's sleeping ... but he is cured ... the best money I ever spent!

This stuff is incredible! A pacifier is easy to take away, what do you do with a thumb? After taking my sons pacifier away on his 3rd birthday my 4 year old asked my wife the next day, "on my next birthday are you going to cut my thumbs off?" She really did not want to suck her thumb, it was just a habit. We painted her nails and put Mavala stop on her thumb for two weeks, and she has not sucked her thumb in over a month. My wife also came up with a good Idea for kids that talk back, she painted her pinky, now when they talk back they get the pinky. They talk back very little now.

I cannot believe this worked and it worked GREAT! I am 35 years old and have tried so many times to stop biting my nails! Finally I found something that works! Great product! Can't recommend it enough!

We tried everything to stop our 6 year old from sucking his thumb and our 4 year old from biting his nails. I was skeptical of this product, but we decided to try it. It works! Within a week there was no thumb sucking and our 4 year old had some nail growth. Great product!!

The night we put the Mavala on our daughters two thumbs was the last night she suck them. I made the mistake of trying it on my own thumb before putting it on hers. Nasty!

IT worked for my son to stop sucking thumbs when I applied on his nail twice and that is it. It is miracle!! I would have done few years ago. Great product!

My kiddo quit sucking his thumb within 1 week of starting this polish. I painted it on every morning, and told him when he quit for good he could get a toy of his choice. It worked.

I am a professional nail biter. I've been biting my nails for 12 years ever since i was 4 years old and I am now 16. I was always embarassed when my friends would ask "Why does your fingers look like that?" I tried so many methods to stop, but none of them worked. I bought Mavala STOP thinking this product will probably not even work. Trust me, it worked. The more I kept my nails in my mouth the more worst the taste was (and LONGER). I definately reccomend this to anyone who has problems with biting their nails.

We used this for my 3 1/2 year old son, who CONSTANTLY sucked his thumb - all night and all day! I figured that I would have to try several ideas before he broke the habit, so I'd might as well get started. I painted this on his thumbnail one night while he was sleeping (I didn't want him to know that this was something I did to him. We had prepared him for at least a month by telling him that one day he'd be such a big boy that he wouldn't need his thumb anymore and it wouldn't even taste good! He was getting excited for that day) Needless to say, when he woke up in the middle of the first night, he had a hard time. I slept with him for the night and gently held his hand so he wouldn't forget and put it in his mouth - it really tastes awful! But by the 2nd and 3rd night, he just kept his thumb near his face, but didn't put it in his mouth.
So, I'm amazed that my little guy, who was really hooked on this thumb has completely stopped - cold turkey! He did tell me this morning that he sucks his thumb for 2 minutes, only on Thursdays, but I'll take it!
I highly reccommend this product!
