I had been looking for something for my 14 year old son who had been biting his nails since he was 2. He has been biting his nails for so long and so often he didn't have much of a nail left! He couldn't be happier, he did find he needs to use it everyday but it really is working. I had bought your product because of the great price but I will continue to buy it and recommend it because it works!
Thank you

I couldn't believe the effectiveness of this product. As my 14 month old just started to walk, he found out he can suck his thumb ALL the time (unlike crawling he needed to use his hands).
Being a stubborn thumb sucker myself and remembering how my parents battled me to stop (upto 5 years old), I thought to try and 'nip it in the bud' with my little one.
Within 3 hours, my son knew that sucking was too distasteful, and within 2 days he didn't even attempt putting his thumb near his mouth. At a week, he no longer sucked during the night or at moments of distress, so I stopped applying Mavala.
It has now been 4 weeks, and no sign of sucking!
I would HIGHLY recommend this product. The only precaution on using it for small children is not to let them feed themselves as much as possible, as it does sometimes transfer onto the food as well.
My son stopped with one application

This product is wonderful. With just one application my 2 year old stopped sucking his thumb. It's been over a month and he hasn't even attempted to start back. The only problem with this product is that it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth that can last for a few days. I could barely get him to eat anything for 2 days because of the nasty taste in his mouth.
Its a Miracle!!!!!!!!

Oh My Gosh! I thought I'd never get my daughter to stop sucking her thumb but this stuff really works. She is 5 and just could not give up that thumb. When I ordered Mavala stop I told her that when I was 5 my thumb started tasting really nasty from sucking it for so long. A week later I received the Mavala stop and we painted her nails. (I didn't let her see the bottle and I only put it on that thumb as a top coat) That night when she went to suck her thumb she made an awful face and said I needed to take off the nail polish but I told her it wasn't the nail polish or all her fingers would taste bad. I had to lay with her that night until she fell asleep but the next night she fell asleep on her own without sucking her thumb. She'd attempt to in her sleep for the first two nights but it tasted so bad it didn't take long for her to stop. I did reapply it when she was sleeping the thrid night but she had already stopped. It has now been about two weeks and she hasn't tried to suck her thumb. YEAH! Thank you Mavala Stop!!!!!!!

I guess to be as effective as it is, the taste HAS to be unplaesant, but just be warned when using it on children that even though it's safe and harmless, the taste is VERY strong and unpleasant. Be prepared for their tears when they try to keep sucking thumbs and fingers after it's on. The taste doesn't wash off all that easy and lingers in the mouth for a while, which can be a problem if your children say that the taste is there even when they eat! All in all though, it was worth putting up with the discomfort to get them to stop their thimb sucking. It's very effective.
It's GREAT!!!!

My 4 year old son chewed his nails. He wanted to stop but by then it had become a habit and he was unable to do so on his own. We tried everything - punishment, bribery, you name it. We tried other paint on nail products but they just washed off. This one is different - the taste stays on (doesn't wash off) and it is nasty. My son now has beautiful nails and is so proud of himself. We are too! I highly recommend this product to anyone!!!
Finally! The habit is being broken

MAVALA Stop immediately stopped my almost 9 year old's thumb sucking habit as well as my 3 year old's finger sucking habit. I sure wish I had known about this product before I wasted so much money on a variety of other products promising to break the tumb habit.
Great product for thumbsuckers!

Get this product first. Over the last 2 weeks have tried bridbery, bandages, friendly reminders, etc. to no avail. Was going to order the thumbguard for $70 but thought I'd try this first - glad I did. We call it the "secret" reminder. Started using it yesterday and he has not sucked the thumbs since (he is 5 1/2 yrs and has been sucking the whole time). He came in this morning and proudly announced "I didn't suck my thumb all night!" So happy for this product - applied yesterday at 4pm when it arrived in the mail and haven't had to reapply yet - we are at the 22 hour mark. It does taste bad but for a child who is old enough and has a desire to kick the habit, this is a great solution that he/she will be thankful for and not mad about. Very pleased - highly recommend this product!!!

My son is almost 3, and sucked his thumb all the time, even while playing. We've tried everything to get him to stop, from telling him that his nail would fall of from bugs and worms growing out of it, to chili powder mixed with hot sauce (he liked it!). I saw the great reviews for this online, and decided to try it. I was skeptical because of the chili powder experience, but after ONE application, he stopped! He had to drink 2 huge cups of juice to get rid of the taste in his mouth, and has tried a couple times to put his thumb in again, but I haven't seen him sucking it at all...even at night. So that he doesn't just attribute the taste to the polish (and think it will go away), I put it on when he sleeps now, and told him that his fingers taste bad because he sucked them for so long. One piece of advice: don't give them finger foods, the taste transfers! Thank you MAVALA!!!

My son is 2 1/2 who sucked his finger with milk in his mouth at the same time ?? We bought this and it took a little while, first he said the milk tasted bad, then his finger, and begged for us to wash it off. It does taste bad, and now if he even thinks of sucking his finger we tell him we are going to paint it, and he tells us no way. So far so good. We paint the whole finger not just his nail because it wasn't strong enough to paint just the nail. Very satisfied.

I tried some other products on my two boys. None of them worked. After putting on this one, my younger one told me that the taste could't be rinsed off with several glass of water. And when I asked him how long the taste lasted in his mouth. He said to me: "SEVERAL days!". So now none of them want to bite their nails anymore. Great product, thank you.
Great stuff!!

I purchsed this for my son who is 3 1/2. He's progressing with regards to stopping his nail biting, which is the goal. What I do not like is the fact that you cannot eat anything with your hands once you've put the stuff on. I put it on my own fingernails and discovered that eating chips, grapes, cookies, etc. is impossible without getting the horrible taste in your mouth. It's easy to forget you have the stuff on, until you've licked your finger after eating a Dorito. That's the only complaint.
Really Works!!!

I used this product 1 time with my daughters both of whom have sucked their thumb or fingers for 4 years. The first night I applied the product was the last night they tried to suck their thumbs. I have not had to reapply the Mavala.

This really worked for my 3 1/2 almost 4 year old. She stopped sucking her thumb as soon as it was applied. She cried a little but soon realized that her thumb just didn't taste good anymore. She didn't know what was causing it, but we had told her that sometime before she turned 4 that her thumb would just turn yukkie. The dentist had told us that she needed to stop before she turned 4 and her teeth will probably not need braces. We really thought about buying a thumb guard at $70.00 and we are so glad we tried this product first. I still apply it every other night because I think she will check to see if her thumb still tastes yukkie. She is more of a stubborn child. So far it has been 3 weeks and she hasn't sucked her thumb. I'm thrilled and I know that she will never go back to sucking it because she has broken the habit. I will continue to use the rest of the bottle for safe measure. One bottle is all you need. We are thrilled with this product and I'm telling others about it. Thanks so much!!!

My son was sucking his thumb on his first picture: the ultrasound! I can't believe the progress he has made after nearly three years of being hooked on that thumb It hasn't even been a month since I purchased the product, and it's been weeks since he's sucked his thumb, he even says he doesn't want it anymore.
