I have to tell you that I have a 4 year son that has been sucking his thumb since in whoom! It only took 2 days for him to stop completly. The first day I put it on he did not suck this thumb the entire day, he did try it at night but I put it back on and he could not stand to put it into his mouth. We are thumb free now! My daughter who bites her nails has also started using this and she has stopped biting her nails in 1 day. I would recommend it to everyone.

I don't recommend this product for children under the age of 2-3 years. My son is 21 months and after applying the product to his thumb he proceeded to suck his thumb to the point of throwing up. He obviously didn't understand that the the bad taste was connected to sucking his thumb. He kept trying to spit the taste out of his mouth but then continued to suck his thumb. Maybe when he is older we'll try again, but not anytime soon!

I nail bite when I'm stressed, and I've never had long nails. I bought Mavala for Nail Biters, and now when I'm experiencing stress I use it and I don't bite my nails! I have finally found my cure for my nailbiting! Only downside: if you are eating a finger food, or doing something like flossing, or applying lip gloss with your fingers, you may get a bitter taste from your Mavala. But, it's definitely a great product, and does what it says!

Our 4 year old hard-core thumb sucker has been cured after a year and a half of trying to break her without success. Other similar products failed, but this one really works!

This product is great. This is my second bottle and I've been extremely pleased with the results. The doctor said that this is a habit that can take months and even up to a year to break and I will need to continue using the product for awhile. We tried to stop using it and my daughter starting trying to suck her thumb again, so I put the product back on immediately and she stopped. I will do as her doctor says and continue to use it for maybe a year to be sure. He also said their is a huge danger of a child get very sick from sucking their thumb because of all the germs out there and especially the germs under the nail. He said this is the most important reason that a child needs to stop.

I want everyone interested in this product to know that I have been biting my nails and cuticles since the day I was born - to the point where they would bleed! I purchased this product, used it for about 2 to 3 weeks, and now have the most beautiful nails ever. I never in my life would have thought I could stop biting and now after using this product for a short time, I have absolutely no desire to bite my nails or pick at the cuticles. After reading that the taste of MAVALA transferred to food if touched with the fingers that the product was applied to, I was a bit wary, so I started with Orly No-Bite. I saved the MAVALA for my daughter's toenails (which, I'm ickified to say, she bites also). She complained of it stinging her fingers when I put it on, but I sense that is where she has torn the skin when chewing... She also doesn't like how sticky it feels after being applied, so I wait until after she has gone to sleep before I apply it to her fingernails (over the Orly No-Bite).
The result? Just today she requested that I put bright pink polish on her fingernails AND toenails -- something she has been much too mortified to have done (or even show anyone her nails) in over a year. Did she ever mention that her food tasted like the product? Yes, she did, and she's not happy about that. But does she bite her nail any longer? Not since using MAVALA. And will I continue using it? You bet -- until the bottle is empty, and if I need more time than that to break the habit completely, I'll just order more!
By the way -- I placed the order on a Thursday morning, got confirmation the same day that the item was being shipped, and received it at my home on Saturday afternoon. Great service!

4 yr old son sucked his middle finger - during naps, sleeping, and stressful periods. We wanted him to stop since we were worried his skin rashes/itchiness/running nose were related to his finger sucking. The meds to treat were strong too.
He stopped the first night of using the Mavala Stop (used it every other day - 4 applications so far). We researched this and other products - selected this one and bought two bottles (but we have a lot left!). So far so good anyways.
We did explain to our son before starting this and he seemed mature enough to cope. Fortunately things turned out ok. He still has skin rashes and running nose but that may or may not have been related :(.

This product worked after only one application!! Our son sucked his thumb for nearly 7 years and literally quit in one day! The product does not wash off (I tried multiple ways to get it off!). Provided your child is ready to really quit, this product is a wonderful "reminder" not to suck your thumb! Highly recommended!

I am nineteen and had been chewing my nails my entire life. I put this stuff on and it tasted so bad i couldnt deal with chewing my nails. I now have long nails and cuticles. Also, this stuff sticks around in ur mouth so there is even more incentive to not chew your nails.

Both my children were stubborn thunb-suckers at ages 7 and 5. Within 2 weeks or use of the Mavala product both were completely rid of the habit. It does taste extremely bitter and will spread to fingerfoods if not dry completely before handling foods.

I love this, I used it for my son because his tooth would not come down because he sucked his thumb so much and I just put it on during the day and it is coming down!! I used it on my nails because I was always biting them and quit biting my nails in two days!! Great product!

As someone that has had a nasty nail biting habit, I found this product to be nothing short of a miracle. I have tried several things before but nothing seemed to work. I never thought something that came in a bottle priced at less than $15 could break the habit.

My 2 1/2 year has been sucking her thumb since day one. I've been told by several people that there is nothing that can help and that they have tried everything. I read some of the reviews before buying this product and took the same route as one mother telling her child that the older she gets the worst the thumb will taste. I told my 2 1/2 year daughter this for about a week before using the product, while she was a sleep I applied it. Believe it or not it worked!!! It worked on the first application. I continued to apply it every other day for about two weeks so she would not relapse. But mothers be prepared to feel bad and miss your baby looking like a baby. Thank you for such a great product - now my baby want be teased as she gets older.

It took about a day for my 2 year old to get over the taste and get right back to that thumb. We tried multiple applications and with polish but it didn’t slow her down one bit. Since she has developed a sore on her thumb we will probably need to take her to the dentist

I was dreading starting the process of weaning my 3 1/2 year old from her thumb. With Mavala she was done with it within 36 hours without much fuss. It has since been three weeks with no relapse. It only took one application. She was quite mad the first twelve hours and I had something for her to drink on hand for when she would put her thumb in her mouth so she could wash the taste away. First I painted her nails with nail color and then top coat of Mavala on her thumb, and lightly on rest of fingers. I also had been explaining to her that once she turned 3 1/2, her thumb might start to taste bad, just so it wasn't such a shock. Love it and recommend it. Her teeth are even starting to look straighter.

This product tasted so terrible my daughters both stopped biting their nails in one week. After two weeks I actually had to clip their nails because they had grown so long. Definitely a great product for the job!
