The stuff tastes soo bad, my son ran to the sink and was asking for water. He has not sucked his thumb since.
PS the whole family put it on to show him we were not just torturing him. Everyone hated it. It is a great product!

My 6 year old daughter has been sucking her thumbs and biting her nails since birth. Finally her 1st grade teacher asked if we were doing anything to break the habit. I went online and Folica popped up. I ordered the "Mavala Stop" and within a few days it arrived. Although it tastes bad, she doesn't complain and it really is stopping her from having her hands in her mouth. Her teacher is even commenting that it seems to be working. I guess we should have tried it sooner. Thanks for the great product!

My 8-year-old son still sucks his thumb and I have bitten my nails for 39 years. This stuff works! The taste is so nasty that it really stops both of us from ever wanting to put our hands anywhere near our mouths. The only drawback is that sometimes it gets on finger foods, so we have started only putting a little on the very backs of our nails. I highly recommend this very effective product.

I rated this product average because my daughter still seems to chew right through it (we are trying to eradicate a nail biting problem). I'm shocked she does because it tastes horrendous and certainly dissuades me putting my fingers anywhere near my mouth. But my daughter does have a very stubborn nature, soo....

We have a 4 year old son who has developed a nail bitting habit. Not only would he constantly bit his nails and toes till they bled, but he would try to bit other peoples nails if you were sitting next to him. I have tried several other products but as soon as it dried, his nails were back in his mouth. I was amazed how "MAVALA Stop" worked. I put it on his nails every day, and not once have I seen him bite his nails since the first application. It must taste horrible because it works! It has been 2 weeks now and today he asked me to trim one of his nails that have grown a little long. I love this product and have told everyone who needs help with the habit to buy MAVALA. Nail bitting is a terrible habit that needs to be addressed early in life or they will have ugly hands later on.

My 7 year old daughter has sucked her thumb at night since birth. She had been getting more and more anxious to quit and we had tried everything from gloves to hot sauce and nothing worked. When the Mavala arrived she asked me to put it on right away. That night she did not suck her thumb at all. The next night she must have sucked her thumb in her sleep because she wwoke up with a terrible taste in her mouth! Since then there has been no more thumb sucking. She is thrilled and so are we. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to help their child stop sucking their thumb!

My husband and I are so impressed by this product. We have tried so many things to get my 2 1/2 year old to stop sucking his thumb. We held off on buying this product because we thought it might do more harm than good. But it has worked. Quickly, too. Great product!

This product with the 33 day plan worked well for me, especially if you are serious about stop biting your nails. I am on my last week and it is working great. Just be careful when eating any type of finger foods or touching utensils. The bitter taste does seem to rub off on what you touch.

this stuff is sooo nasty!!! Its great becuase i don't want to put my fingers anywhere near my mouth or face. It lasted for over a week with just one coat. THis is some serious stuff, if you REALLY want to stop biting your nails then this is the stuff for you. One taste of this stuff and you will never put you fingers back in you mouth!!!

I have been using on my daughters 1 years old and the other 3 years old for about 2 weeks --off and on. I feel sorry for them 1 because it makes the food they eat taste nasty and there kisses will also reflect the taste. I slacked on putting it on at night just because my girls would not eat anything they had touched because of the taste. But if you continue adding the polish hopefully you won't have to worry to much longer.

We put the product on yesterday at 4pm, and my son hasn't sucked his thumb at all!!! He raised it to his mouth once, and when his tongue hit his nail he popped his thumb out immediately and it hasn't gone back in since. It has been almost 24 hours now. Plus, he doesn't seem to be traumatized by it in any way. Actually, I think he's very proud of himself. This is a great product.

My 4-year old son has been biting his nails for two years. Recently it seemed to be getting worse, he had only the tiniest strip of nail left on his fingers. I was very concerned about the long-term effects of this habit. we have been using it about a week, and his nails are finally growing out, and he hasn't tried to bite them. I defintely recommend this product!

I tried this on my 21 month old daughter. SHe suckes her two fingers. At first she tasted this stuff and started spitting trying to get the tast out of her mouth. She gagged so much once that she threw up. However after 2 days of applying the polish once maybe twice a day (although the bottle says to apply once every two days) the taste didn't bother her anymore and she is still sucking her fingers

When I first put it on, I let it dry, then did a lick test to see what to expect. It wasn't immediately bad, but then the taste kicked in. I had to spit and the bitter taste is still lasting. I had tried another bitter polish, which was effective at first, but I got used to the taste. So, here I'm trying this one, we'll see how it goes. Another thing I liked was that it wasn't matte. The polish I tried at first was matte, which didn't make me feel like my bitten down nubs were attracting much attention which at first was great, but as they started to grow out, I wanted to put on a pretty color, and the matte over it just took away from the looks, but I wasn't ready to go without my bitter reminder. So the glossy clear covering rocks!

My daughter cried and hated it the first two nights that I used it to bring an end to her thumb sucking. Now it doesn't even seem to phase her. I coat the thumb nail as soon as she falls asleep each night. The next morning it's back in her mouth. Seemed promising at first.

Ive been a nail bitter for over 30 years now. Started when I was a little girl and have never been able to kick the habit fully. There have been times in my life where Ive gone for a month or two with nice nails but somehow I always go back to bitting. Recently I found Mavala and ordered it. Shipping was very fast and the product is very potent. It is a VERY good reminder for me to stop biting my nails and so far its been a week with minimal to no bitting. I dont think Ill ever kick this habit but the Mavala is helping me to be more aware of when I am doing it and the taste is terrible so it makes me stop asap .
I did notice that if you use your hands alot and are cleaning or have them in water you'll need to reapply this product at least 2xs a day to keep it as effective as possible.

It's a clear nail polish that looks like your natural nail.
It smells just like regular nail polish.
But it will keep your fingers out of your mouth because of it's bitter taste. It's wonderful, I'm so glad I looked on this web site.

I've been biting my nails for 21 years and this product is actually helping me stop. I've purchased every other kind of product I could find. This stuff tastes terrible and is much better than any other Sally Hansen product. If you're really bad like me, buy more than one bottle because this process does take a while.
So disapointed! It didn't work.

I'm so disapointed with this product. It didn't work for my 18 month old baby. The first day I applied it she cried because of the bad taste, but the second day, she didn't mind and she was sucking her tumb again. The instructions say to apply it every night. I had to apply it every night and every morning, however, it didn't work that way either.
