I recieved the STOP nail solution the very next day . It is for my 9 year old daughter. She says it is working and she 's not sucking her thumb. I just have to really make sure I reappply it every two days. I think it wore off once and she resorted back to sucking her thumb. I sure know if I sucked my thumb I would definitely stop because the taste of this stuff is just awful with a capital A! It is gross and I used it once because I saw that my daughter's nails were growing and I thought I'd try it. What a big mistake. It made my food taste terrible all day and even the next day and this is after extensive hand washing. This stuff has to work.
I'm thrilled!

I purchased the product on the 10/18 and received it two days later. It really works! My son is 2 1/2 and I tried to get him to stop sucking his two fingers. It was becoming frustrating for both of us. After I applied it on his fingers I told him he could suck if he wanted to but they are going to taste yucky. He has done a great job and no longer reaches to put his fingers in his mouth in situations where he would have wanted to suck!!! Thank you we are so happy.
Wonderful product!

My 4 yr old (will be five in 2 weeks) sucked his thumb ALL the time. He never wanted to stop. We bribed and did all we could and nothing worked. I found this product and we used it for 2 days and he hasn't sucked his thumb since. He hasn't even tried. This product is wonderful. The only thing we found is that we applied it every day instead of every couple of days. It seemed to wear off quicker than stated in the product but other than that it works miracles!
It actually works

I used this product several years ago to stop our three year old from sucking her thumb. It worked within two weeks and she has not sucked her thumb for two years. She just recently began biting her nails, so we decided to try Mavala Stop again. She has now gone for two weeks without biting her nails. It is an awesome product and I would recommend it to anyone.
It did the trick!

My daughter and her husband were beside themselves. Their daughter, almost from birth, had a bad habit of holding her hair and sucking her thumb. As she grew older and became more skillful at grabbing things, she grabbed her hair, twriled it and sucked her thumb. She was beginning to pull out her hair. They knew the 2 habits went together and they hoped if they could stop the thumbsucking, the hair pulling would stop. Well, they put on 1 application, and also put some on themselves, too. They told her that this would help her not pull her hair anymore and then they wouldn't have to be talking about it all the time. That was 3 weeks ago and she hasn't sucked her thumb or pulled her hair since! It is amazing!!1 We are thrilled! I'd recommend it to anyone!!

We applied STOP to my 4 yr old's thumb TWICE....and it immediately stopped his very constant habit without any crying or fussing. Amazing stuff, worth every penny....probably didn't take two days....dentist offered an intraoral appliance that involved impressions and bands....I'm sure much more than $7!!!
INDUCED VOMITING IN MY TODDLER

Right now this product is collecting dust in my medicine cabinet. My 20 mo. old daughter cried and threw up immediately after sucking her thumb when I applied this. The next day she cried a little after tasting her thumb again but continued to suck on it regardless. I may try it again just to see if the first time was a fluke, but I feel bad knowing she may vomit. I wouldn't recommend this for small children.
Stop Thumb Sucking

My son is four years old and this product stopped his thumb sucking in 1 week. We kept applying the product for a second week but the habit was pretty much "licked" the first week! I thought our first attempt would fail but figured this to be the cheapest and least physically impairing method so why not start with the cheapest easiest and go from there. I wish we had tried it sooner. My son sucked his thumb ALL the time. Now he is more energetic, talkative, and engaging. It's as though he has been awakened. Before if there was a quiet moment he would stick that thumb in his mouth. Now he's too busy to think about his thumb. One tip for success I recommend is that you don't focus on the thumb sucking with the child. We never told our son that we were putting it on his thumb to stop him from sucking his thumb. We told him that his thumb was "sick"...and he bought it. He understood that he gets sick and has to take medicine so it was reasonable for him that his thumbs could get sick too.
Does not work

I am very disapointed. I have resorted to putting an ace bandage on my 2yr olds hand so she does not suck her thumb. When she tastes it she makes a sour face but then continues to suck her thumb. I have put it on her nail every day for a week, I think she sucks it off. when I look at her nail it does not appear to have any left on her nail. I am so happy that this product has worked for some! thats great :) I just wished it had worked for me. Good idea though!!!

This is some horrid tasting stuff, and really should keep nail biters from doing it, but of course there is always the strange one out there that does not mind the taste. I personally need it more than every two days, once a day good enough. The biggest drawn back is you cannot eat with your hands with this stuff on, potato chips and peanuts are out. Might be a good tool to teach kids to eat with their silverware!
didn't help a bit

I first used the polish on myself and hoped it would work on my 2-year-old son. No luck. He made a funny face once and continued sucking his thumb as if nothing had happened.

Bought this to help 4yo dd break her thumb habit. Just wasn't nasty enough for her. She sucked her thumb right through the taste. What finally worked was googling "headgear" and showing her the pictures. Scared her straight :)

My almost 4 year old has had a habit of always having a finger resting in or near his mouth. Now that he's in preschool I'm very aware of how easy it is to spread germs this way and had to find a way to discourage it. I used this product for about 4 days and he's changed his ways. It has really helped break a habit he wasn't even aware of!!

This stuff lingers on hands for a long time and does come off on food, clothing, towels, etc. My daughter's caregiver called from school worried because of the possibility of other kids being affected. I only used it once, it made all food taste bad (I tried it myself and couldn't believe how awful). My daughter continued to bite her nails, grimacing with the bad taste.
Adult Nail Bitters Beware

As embarrassing as it is to admit it, I am an adult nail biter. I purchased this product to help resolve my nasty habit. Unfortunately, it has yet to help. While it does produce a bitter taste that lingers on the lips and tongue, it isn't a strong enough deterrent for an adult. My reach was kind of more of an annoyance than avoidance. I can see why it works for children who would have a stronger reaction than an adult with a higher threshold for these types of things.
I will say that it does stay on for days! You have to reapply maybe every other day. I reapply every other day for maximum strength nasty taste....but I am still a nail biter.

I tried everything to get my darling son to stop sucking his thumb, the $70 Thumb Gaurd (he sucked on the Thumb Guard), the reward system (he received a lot of rewards and began sucking his thumbs after he received the rewards). He immediately stopped sucking his thumb when we used this product and has been thumb-sucking free for two weeks! GREAT PRODUCT!

I had tried over the counter products that were so mild tasting for my 4 year old, that she got right past the taste the first night. So I was reluctant at buying another but figured I'll give it one more shot. This stuff is disgusting, one lick from my husband and I had us both running to the sink. My daughter hasn't sucked her thumb in 1 week now. I think the habit is definitely kicked. Thanks sooo much!
