Both my 4 year old daughter and husband are using Mavala stop. It is going pretty well. They both have stoped biting their nails as much and both have a bit of white nail showing. Though they both seems to be becoming more tolerant of the bad taste.

As a nailbiter for about 25 years, I finally told myself that I had to make myself stop. My biggest problem was that I was biting my nails and not even realizing it. This product has definitely helped tremendously. It has a horrible bitter taste that does its job well. In the first week, I forgot a few times and really regretted it. This stuff has a not-so-subtle way of reminding you that you're biting your nails! You won't be biting them, I can guarantee. The taste will see to that.
It goes on and smells like nail polish. When it dries, it leaves some shine on your nails, but not enough to be a problem or be too noticeable. I reapply every 3 or 4 days.
Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It's been 3 weeks, and my nails are longer than they've been since I can remember. It was tough to stop biting my nails and I'm certainly not out of the woods yet, but this product is helping me get it done.

I had a 2 year old dedicated thumb-sucker and after the very first application, she no longer sucked her thumb. I repplied it daily after her bath for two weeks and the habit was broken!

my daughter is 10 years old.she been sucking her thumb for all of her 10 years. when I heard about Mavala Stop I laugh because I had try everything to get her to stop sucking her thumb.I even told her that if she went one week without sucking her thumb I would give her a hundred dallors,well that didn't work.. I ordered Mavala Stop put it on her nails by my surpise it really works.she cryed the first two night because she wanted her thumb the most at bed time.she had a hard time going to sleep..but I tell you it was worth it all...now she can get her braces this year. with out Malvala Stop she wouldn't be getting her braces this soon.. all I can say is Thank You Mavala.

I've been using Stop for 2 weeks now. After 25 years of chewing my nails, I have stopped. For the first time I can remember all my nails have white ridges at the ends. My cuticles and skin around my nails are healing. I am no longer embarrassed to show my nails in public. The stuff tastes awful and immediately turns me off. Great stuff!

This is the greatest product they have ever put on the market for thumb suckers. My daughter is 4 yrs old and she sucked her thumb from the time she was in my womb. I was skeptical at first when I heard of this product because I've tried everything else and nothing worked, but after 2 wks of using this product, my daughter stopped sucking her thumb. It's amazing! This stuff really works!!

I have tried to reason with my 4, almost 5 year old daughter to stop sucking her thumb. I even considered investing in a device from an Orthodontist until I found Mavala Stop on the internet. It only took 2 applications for her to stop sucking her thumb AND to stop biting her nails, a habit that she picked up from her pre-school friends. She was so proud of her accomplishments and it didn't create the trauma that I thought it would.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter used to suck her thumb when she was tired and wanted to soothe herself to sleep. I didn't want her to develop an overbite or start sucking her thumb more frequently so I decide to try Mavala Stop. She loves nail polish, so when I painted her thumbnails before bedtime she thought it was a real treat. I told her that sometimes when you suck your thumbs too long they start to get yucky.(a little white lie) I told her that she should stop because she was getting big and they might be turning yucky. After I put her to bed, she called me once saying she needed a drink and I asked her if her thumbs were yucky and she said yes. I told her that she should stop sucking them and she agreed. After that one night I have only applied it twice and she never complained, so she must not have tasted it. She cuddles with a blankie when I put her down to bed and never even puts a thumb near her mouth. I highly recommend trying Mavala Stop.

Nothing else that I've found works like Mavala stop! My 7 year old daughter can't stop sucking her thumb and this is the only thing that works. Beware it doesn't taste good and if you get some on your hands don't put them near your mouth! However, it does wash off in shower or pool.

This is the first review I've ever written, but I feel I owe it to the makers of Stop. I spent my days barking "no thumbie" literally 50 or more times. Our two year old's teeth were starting to stick out and my husband and I were getting somewhat stressed at our inability to get her to stop sucking her thumb (we had tried a drugstore version of Stop that made no difference). When I painted Stop on her (whole) thumb that was the end of the negatve habit. I literally haven't said "no thumbie" even once since. (I let her have Playtex's new orthadontic pacifier at nap- and bedtime to ease the transition)

we had tried everything over the past 3 years and this worked immediatly. The first several weeks were an adjustment for her, but thankfully this bad habit is gone!!!!!!

After a year and a half of begging, bribing, and other unsuccessful techniques, I ordered STOP online. I applied it to my 5-year old's thumb in the morning. It took two days of tasting the nasty taste & difficulty falling asleep, but by the third day, she was done. It has been 6 weeks, and she hasn't tried to suck it again. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent product!!! My 6 year old daughter wouldn't stop sucking her thumb. After one night of this product she stopped sucking her thumb. It has been 2 weeks and we are still good!! Anyone who has a child that sucks there thumb should try it.

I bought this product for my 3yr old son and my 21 month old daughter. Both suck their thumbs. I used the Mavala and the first day my son was spitting and saying "yuck" every time he put his thumb to his mouth. Since day one he has not put his thumb in his mouth. I still continue to put the stuff on his thumb every other day. As for my daughter it has been a struggle for her. She still tries to put her thumb in her mouth and then is disgusted by the taste. It hasn't completely kept her from sucking her thumb, but it definetly discourages the desire to suck on her thumb. I would definetly recommened this product!!! The taste is very bitter and does not go away. I tried this myself and it seems like the bitterness just gets worse and worse.

This product worked great to help my 3 year old stop sucking her thumb, of course she is almost 4 and mature enough to do without it. You can wash the product off with dish soap and a scrubber if your child needs a break. I only had to use it 4 nights, she could not have stopped the P.M. sucking without it. I would highly recommend this product to any one as long as your child is mature enough to do without the thumb.

My 3 year old daughter has been sucking her thumb since she was in the womb. I was definately a skeptic that this product would work, but it did. After four applications and less than a week later you'd never guess that she was a thumb sucker. I highly recommend this product. Thanks a bunch!!

This product is the best one I have tried. It has a very bitter taste that does not wash off. It lasts for days and through many many hand washings. I was VERY surprised. It works great. I wish I had this when my daughter was small and was a thumb sucker.

First of all my husband and I both tried the product because we did not want anything to burn/irritate the skin of our child, so we both tried it. Oh my goodness does this taste bad, and it lingers in your mouth for a good 15 minutes afterward, it does not burn it just tastes really bad. We applied it that night to our childs fingernails and that very same day he almost instantly stopped sucking/biting his hands. This has been a Godsend, and I HIGHLY suggest this product.
