I bought this for my 12 year old son to hopefully help him stop biting his nails. As long as he remembers to apply it (or I remind him!) it works!!

My three year old son was a thumb sucker. I was looking for ways to get him to stop. I came accross Malava Stop, and thought it would be worth a shot. I had noticed on another review that the Mom warned her son that as he grew older, his thumb would taste bad. When the product arrived, I tried it first to see how bad it was. I thought it just tasted bitter, but not offensive. I then put it on my oldest son's thumb and he asked his brother to try his thumb. My youngest did not like it. The next day when my youngest son was taking a nap I put some Malava Stop on all of his nails just in case. He woke up and said my thumb taste bad. I only had to put the product on him a few more times. My son hasn't thought about his thumb in months. In my opinion this product is well worth the investment.

It's a very effective deterrent. Tastes horrible and looks nice. The only issue is that yo must apply it every day, because it wears off when you shower.
I can see my boy's nails growing again, thank you Mavala!

This product is magnificent!!!
My son was biting his nails for months, and I decided to try Mavala STOP. He re-started biting his nails a few times, but our persistance was worth it.
I kept applying over again and explained that we must continue with it until he kicks the habbit by simply forgetting to put his fingers into his mouth.
I have not applied the polish on his nails for weeks now and he seems to find other activity to busy himself with, rather than biting his nails.
I would greatly recommend this product to anybody with such problem.
What a happines to see my boy's nails grow again and have something to clip :).
Did not work, has not worked since.....

Maybe she is too young (18 months). After application, she immediately stuck her thumb into her mouth. I looked at her face for any reaction and she was totally oblivious of the taste. We have given it a break, we will try doing it again in a week or two. In order to submit this post, I had to rate, I marked poor. After the next couple of tries, I will give the real rating of the product.

I've been biting my nails for almost 25 years with little luck in stopping. I got this stuff and it definately works very well. It is terrible. The taste lingers, its quite a punishment. I've been clean for about 6 weeks now and have actually had to start clipping my fingernails.

I have bitten my nails for atleast 25 years, so badly that they bleed and I am incredibly embarassed by the way they look. I had acrylic tips on for over 15 years because that is the only way I'd keep my fingers out of my mouth. Then I came across Mavala one day on the internet and decided to order it, I haven't bitten my nails since the first time I applied it, they are as strong as can be. Plus, I will never have to put acrylic nails on again. Thank you so much for this product!!!

I bought this for my 3 year old son whose thumb-sucking is already causing dental problems. We had tried the persuasion and the reward system but that did not work. After putting this on his nail the first time, it started working. He didn't suck his thumb for two days. I followed the instructions by using it every other day, but by the third day, he was use to it and started sucking his thumb again. I tried applying it everyday and even 2 or 3 coats, but it didn't stop him. He had just gotten use to the bitter taste and went right back to sucking his thumb. I waited a couple of weeks and tried it again, but it didn't phase him. I don't know if it was the product or my strong-willed little boy, but he is still sucking his thumb.

My four year old has been sucking her thumb since she came out the womb. I have tried all the different product from walmart, walgreens, etc. I bought this product and it worked in less than a week. We still may have to put a little on every now and then,but it has worked great!!!!!!!!!!!

This worked exactly as we'd hoped. We looked quite a few places trying to find something that would help and decided to try this. Our three year old stopped sucking his thumb in just a few days. We only needed to put it on again once or twice over about the next month when he'd try to start sucking his thumb again.

This is the ONLY product that's helping me to quit biting my nails. This has been the worst habit to break for me because I started biting my nails when I was nine years old, thirty years have gone by and now, only thanks to STOP, I can see a future free of nail and cuticle biting.

This is a great product and has helped my seven year old daughter stop sucking her thumb. It last a long time and is well worth the money.

This product is amazing! I applied it to my 4 and 2 year olds thumbs. The 4 year old decided she was done sucking her thumb the first day. By day 2 my two year old had kicked the habit as well. The taste is awful! My 4 year old says it's "icky." An excellent buy at a great price!

We have done everything we could to get our son to stop and nothing would work I got the stop from the dentist and it has worked great so far it has been 2 weeks we still put it on his thumb just as a reminder.

Both my daughters, ages 2 1/2 & 4 1/2, sucked their thumbs constantly. They quit the habit on the first day; didn't even suck their thumbs at night! Only 1 or 2 reapplications were necessary in the past month for my younger daughter, none for my 4-year-old. Highly recommended product.

I used this product on my son 3 1/2 and my daughter 6 1/2. It was recommended to me by a friend. They both never sucked their thumb again. They tried to, but I guess it did not taste so great! The only thing is, about every few days you will have to reapply until they break the habbit for good. But for the most part, it works!
Worked Great..I Only had to use it twice.

My son is two, and been sucking his thumb since the womb. I bought this stuff since the reviews were so good, couldnt wait to see if it worked. Astonishingly enough it did. I was soo happy. Now I dont have to worry about all those dental bills I would of had. I tried one application for 3 days and then once more for 3 days and done. No more thumb sucking. The stuff tastes terrible but it works. Its soo easy to use also.

You have to be careful about putting your fingers anywhere near your mouth. This stuff stays put for awhile, even after you wash your hands, so when I was flossing my teeth, the saliva activated the product. I only had to use it once and that did the trick with stopping the nail-biting because the taste is pretty awful. It does what it's supposed to do.

My 4 year old daughter had been sucking her thumb since she was about 6 months old. Adding insult to injury, at about the age of 3 she began biting her nails. We tried every home remedy, nothing worked. I started checking on line for products that might help break her oral fixation habits, I read up on Mavala and thought I'd give it a try. We ordered it, used it, and I'm happy to report my daughter has been thumb sucking and nail biting free for about 3 weeks. I would recommend that you at least try it. I have certainly seen a difference.
