OMG Something that works!!! FINALLY!!!

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with Mavala Stop. I'm a 25y.o. male, and have been biting my nails since pre-school (old home videos don't lie!). I have tried EVERYTHING; Thum, hot sauce, horseradish, you name it and it didn't work for me.
I bought a bottle a few months ago, and it only took a few times of this horrible, bitter, LINGERING taste in my mouth to finally give up this habit that's plagued me nearly my whole life. I have not been putting it on for a few weeks now, and my nails are still there! Occasionally I'll catch myself nibbling on a rough edge, so I've started keeping nail clippers at work/home/car so I can take care of it right away. Then I'll usually put on a new coat just to reinforce the not-biting! :-D
Only issue is that sometimes it'll rub off when eating with my hands, so I get a nice dash of awfulness with my sandwich or french fries. Otherwise, this stuff is liquid gold and I would recommend it (and have) to anybody trying to get their fingers out of their mouth.
THANK YOU MAVALA!!!!
The taste disappears quickly

This stuff works! But then I forgot about it for a little bit and was back to my old nail biting ways. I tried it again yesterday and there is no gross taste anymore! Its like it evaporated from the bottle. It just seems like regular clear polish now. :-( I've only had it for 5 months. Time for a new bottle!
Works Wonders

My son is 5 1/2 and has always sucked his thumb. We thought it would get better as he got older, but it actually got worse. We tried every tip that people gave us. We decided to talk to the orthodontist because my sons teeth were starting to push forward from sucking his thumb. He recommended this product before we put the "bar" in his mouth. It worked immediately. The first night he tried to put his thumb in his mouth twice, he hated it. He has not even tried since. We are on day 6 and will keep it on for a couple weeks just to make sure, but so far I am thrilled!!!
Eh...

This product didn't really work for me. I've been biting my nails since I was 6 yrs old and I don't know if I'll ever stop. I've been taking vitamins and my nails have been growing faster and getting really thick, so they have been a little bit harder to bite off. This stuff tasted HORRIBLE and the taste stays in your mouth for a while.
Even though MAVALA Stop didn't work for me, it could be just the solution for a lot of other people, so give this product a try.
I've used better.

I was really excited about this because I am 21 and NOTHING has ever been able to keep me from biting my nails. They are so nasty looking and I am tired of it. Anyway, while waiting for this to arrive I went to WalMart and painted one nail with a no-bite polish. (It comes in a little cardboard box that is black and red in the nail section.) It tasted bad, but I was thinking that Mavala would be much worse based on all the positive reviews. Well..its not!!!! That $3 stuff from walmart is a million times more disgusting. I was even purposely licking my fingernails to try to convince myself that it was just bad and I was getting my monies worth. But no, sadly it just isn't powerful enough for me.
In case it doesn't work.

I can see that this product has worked in 99% of the cases. But, we used it on my son's nails and he got used to the taste after a few days and started biting his nails again. I just added a bunch of tobasco sauce to the nail polish and now the taste is absolutely positively unbearable. 7 days later, He still tries to bite his nails but the horrible taste is stopping him cold. His nails are starting to look normal.
It works!

I read the hundreds of reviews prior to purchasing this to help my 2-1/2 year old from sucking her thumb. I figured it wasn't too expensive to try. The first day I put it on she gagged a little but that did the trick. I applied every other day for a week or so and occasionally she tried the thumb but hated it. After a week, I never saw her put the thumb to mouth again. It could be a problem if the person uses their hands for eating as she got the occasional "bad taste" but it was only for a few days until we knew the habit was broken. Love this product.
She No Longer Sucks Her Thumb!

My daughter sucked her thumb since babytime and nothing we tried got her to stop. But after using this product for one month, she has completely stopped!! She has not sucked her thumb for 4 months now and has lost the desire...we are talking about a child with a true thumbsucking addict! I highly recommend this product to everyone who has a child that sucks her/his thumb.
Wonderful!!!

I was not sure if this product would work. I applied the product one time to my childs finger and she hasn't sucked her fingers. Excellent product.

My 4 1/2 year old daughter had been biting her nails for several months and nothing I tried had worked. I searched the internet for remedies and after reading reviews of bitter nail polish chose Mavala. She hated it! The trick was to keep the bitterness tasting fresh with frequent applications and soon she had stopped biting almost completely. (I say almost because once in awhile I'll notice what appears to be a slightly eroded nail on one or two particular fingers, but I do consider her "cured.")
works!

my 3 year old daughter's thumb sucking was starting to affect her bite and the dentist recommended this product. it was hard for me to give it a try on her (the terrible bitter taste does not wash off--I tried it) but after a few nights with a struggle, the polish just became a reminder and within a few weeks, the habit which began in womb was broken! I kept painting her thumbs every day (it says every two, but I found she bear the taste if I didn't do it every day)for a while, but haven't for quite a while and she hasn't began again. I only used a fraction of the bottle--very well worth the $9!
Worked for us!

We used this product on our newly turned three year old daughter who was a chronic two finger sucker. We had prepped her for months that when she turns three her fingers wouldn't taste good and that there was to be no more sucking. We started using Mavala two days after she turned three and it worked! She didn't like it, cried when she put her fingers in her mouth, but she didn't suck! My husband and I both tried it and admit that it tastes horrible, but as long as it was safe and worked that's all that mattered to us. Our dentist was happy to see her not sucking and her teeth are already shifting back into place! Thanks for a great product that works.

I am so grateful to have found this product. This has helped both my kids who are 8 and 5, and lifelong thumbsuckers, stop! I am pleased with the results and my kids are so proud of themselves. Thanks!
Miracle Product!

My daughter had sucked her thumb for 5 years. Her thumb sucking had become her comfort object that she used to calm down when upset and tired. In the last year, when her thumb sucking had become more rather than less, we decided to try Mavala Stop after a friend raved about it. We applied it to her thumb 3 times in the first few weeks, and she has completely stopped sucking--from the first application, in fact. She got a little bitter taste while eating a bagel and that was it. I highly reccommend this product and wish I would have known about it years ago!

I bit my nails since i had teeth. I am 34 now. I have tried a few nail bite products in the past. They never worked. I saw Mavala online and ordered a bottle in mid March of 2008. It has the most disgusting taste that stays in your mouth if you try to bite your nails. But it is amazing because after about 30 years of biteing my nails down to the nub I am proud to say it has been almost 2 months since I have bit my nails. All I can say is Thank you over and over. Very Good Product

I used the Mavala Stop and it tasted so bad and so bitter that I stopped biting my nails immediately, and had no desire to put my fingers back in my mouth again!
I also have have a 12 month old cat, who thinks I'm his real mother and keeps sucking on my earlobe. I didn't know how to break him of this, so my granddaughter put the Mavala Stop on my earlobe and he took one taste, shook his head and spit a couple of times and walked away! This product works better than anything else I've ever tried.

I LOVE this product!! It works!!! I have 4 kids that had nail/thumb habits that I wanted to stop. My worst 2 habit breakers were the thumb sucker and finger suckers. My 2 year old quit sucking her fingers within days!! I was totally amazed, she sucked them non-stop before. My 6 year old took a while longer, but has also stopped. She had a really hard time falling asleep at night the first several times it was on. But it is so worth it!! My oldest who is 8 years old has quit biting her nails and now gets to use nail polish, she is very proud. My 4 year old is still working on it and would probably do better if I was better about putting the mavala stop on at least every other day. I tell everyone I know about this product. It is a life saver. I figure my 6 year old no longer is in danger of needing to wear braces due to thumb sucking. That alone is worth the price of trying the product. Make sure you keep putting it on every other day or so. Definately a MUST have if you want to break these bad habits!!
you want to have to stop biting too!

MAVALA Stop for Nail Biting and Thumb Sucking is a great product. I read a couple reviews that said that it's confusing what you're supposed to do with it, even though the product speaks for itself, because the insert doesn't include anything in the English language. This wasn't true for me. Maybe this was an older version of the product. Anyway, you do have to want to stop biting your nails first off. It makes it much easier. I wanted to stop but obviously not enough, because soon enough I stopped brushing my nails with the liquid and I began biting my nails again. But, the taste is so horrible and it stays in your mouth on your lips , at least for me, for at least a whole day. The only way you can get it off your tongue or lips is to wipe your tongue or lips on your sleave. But, if you bite again, you are right back to where you started. I suggest this product for anyone who wants to stop. If you think the product is going to do everything for you, you might as well not buy it, because you're going to stop using it like I did. I started using it again and my nails are longer than they've ever been probably since before I knew HOW to bite my nails. I've probably been biting them since I was like 6 years old and I've only gotten increasingly worse, biting all the way down until I bleed. In conclusion, if you want to stop, you're sick of the hang nails, and the sore fingers from biting in too far, I strongly recommend MAVALA Stop for Nail Biting and Thumb Sucking!!

I have a four year old who sucks his thumb. I've tried everything but he loves his thumb so much no other product could keep his thumb out of his mouth until I found Mavala on Folica.com. It really, really works! In fact on the days I may not put the product on my sons thumb he will ask "Mama is the stuff on my thumb?" and I will say yes and right away he stops thinking about even putting it in his mouth. In fact I've tried it to stop bitting my nails or just to keep my hands away from my mouth and it tastes horrible. It does work....
