This stuff really works! My son is almost 3, and has not had his thumb out of his mouth unless he is eating. The first night I put it on, he learned very quick that it's nasty. It has been about 3 weeks, and has not sucked his thumb yet!

With my son's consent I have tried several brands of nail polish to help him stop sucking his thumb. He is five years old and he calls the nail polish "a liquid reminder". Mavala is the ONLY brand that he does not suck through. He told me it is the first one that doesn't wash off with soap and water. Since we started using it we only need to apply the Mavala once every 5 days. This has improved his self-esteem.

OMG.... this thing tastes soooooo bitter! yuck! i cant even get my fingers near my mouth because the taste will rubb onto my lips and when i lick my lips it tastes horrible...so i know not to get my fingers anywhere near my mouth..now all i need is the encouragement to put it on everyday lolbecause now i dont want to! but no, i have to stop bitting my nails for my own good...i've always longed for long beautiful strong nails...and now i might actually get it! woo hoo! lol
so the point is...got a thumb sucking problem or a nail bitter? BUY THIS!!! ASAP!

My 5 year-old son had sucked his thumb since he was about 3 months old. I applied this to his thumbnail for 2 days and his habit is gone! I thought maybe he would start up again if I quit putting it on, but he has not and it has been two weeks. I highly recommend this product.

This product may be great for some people, but it is not for everyone! My 2 year old daughter has a bad habit of nail biting. Although this product I am sure would have worked if I followed through because of its absolutly dreadful taste, I felt as if I was poisoning my child. Everytime she put her fingers in her mouth...not just to bite her nails but if she was eating or licking some icecream off her finger...she would gag and sometimes throw up and complain that her tummy hurt. I tasted it myself and the taste stays on your lips and tounge for at least 20 minutes. I am not saying that this will not work...I am sure that it would, considering no one would want to taste this awful stuff...But I am saying that it is not for everyone and if your child has a sensitive stomach...don't bother trying it.

Believe me it works just have patience and keep applying at least 30 days.My 2 yr old daughter just give up finger sucking just before one month of her b'day and that was the best gift for her .

My 2.5 year old has sucked her two middle fingers since she was a baby. To make things worse, with her other hand she would rip out her hair. She wouldn't just play with her and some of it would come out... she would pull and rip it out. The two bad habits went together. As she got older it was something that she did to soothe herself and while she was asleep. Even though she got older and we could reason with her, it was something that she did out of habit without realizing it... either in her sleep or just when she had zoned out.
I ordered Mavala Stop and within only a few days it completely eliminated her bad habits! Since she wasn't sucking her fingers, she wasn't pulling her hair out either. I had tried the fingernail biting stuff you can buy at the grocery store and that didn't even make a difference. Mavala Stop was such a wonderful purchase!
I highly recommend it to everyone!!!!!

I tried this on my 1 year old little girl and she was disgusted by the taste for all of one day and then began sucking her thumbs again with the polish on even though it was repulsive to her. I guess she is too young for the taste to bother her enough to stop.

I've been a nail biter for as long as I can remember (I;m 38 now). I've tried everything. Every year I tell myself I am going to stop. I've tried every product out there and as weird as this sounds I've ended up liking the taste.
UNTIL NOW! This stuff will repulse you like nothing else. I've been a non-nail biter for about a week now and every time I put my fingers near my mouth I start to gag. I bought 2 of them so I could keep 1 at the office. THIS STUFF WORKS! I was even eating ribs the other night and went to lick the BBQ sauce off of my fingers and nearly threw up. A small problem to endure to get over this habit!

This is a very effective product. I am an adult and had a nailbiting habit my whole life. I was tired of tips and extensions. The damage to the nails and the costs were both excessive.
I decided to try this product and I am very pleased with the results. It is a very foul, bitter tasting polish which serves as an excellent deterrent to putting any part of your fingers into your mouth. I must warn you that even in the process of eating food you may slip fingers into your mouth and be reminded never to do that again.
I would not use this product on babies as I fear it would be too strong and bitter for a very young child. However, if a child is willing to attempt the breaking of this awful habit, I would allow the child to use it.
Once I stopped biting my nails, they did grow very nicely. I also used nail hardening products by the same company. The whole process took about a month to grow healthy nails.
Finally a product that really WORKS for nail biting!

After chewing his nails to nubs, my 9 year old finally has stopped, thanks to Mavala. From the first application, he never chewed again. Worked on my 6 year old's night-time thumb-sucking too. I definitely recommend this product!!!

My Daughter is 5 years old, and we waited for her to quit sucking her thumb on her own. When it was obvious that she wasn't going to... Well thats when we bought the STOP. Well 2 weeks later, she hasn't sucked her thumb, the callous on her skin is almost gone, and pretty soon we will never be able to tell that she did!! The extra bonus is that I haven't bit my nails in 2 weeks either! Its great, and I would say worth the chance to try it!

I began using this product about 2 weeks ago on my 4 year old nail-biter. He is doing a lot better, but I can't say for sure if he doesn't bite at least two of his fingernails. He is a sneaky one, and I never actually see him biting his nails, I only see that they've already been bitten. So, there's these two nails that I am suspicios that he is still attempting to bite.
Other than that, the product works well. He describes it as yucky!!! ...and it certainly is yucky - I tried just to see what it tastes like - yucky indeed.
By the way, he definitely stopped biting his toe nails now!
Good Luck with your child. Hope the product works for you too.

Our daughter was a constant thumbsucker -- morning, noon & night -- and the first time we tried STOP there was really no difference. After a classmate said that it worked on the second try, about six months after our first attempt, we decided to give the product another try. This time, it has been a complete success!! Our daughter has no interest in sucking her thumb anymore, even when she is tired. We are so excited!!

This product helped my 3 1/2 year old stop sucking his thumb. We tried other products and tricks but nothing worked until we used Mavala Stop. He has not put his thumb in his mouth since we started applying it nightly.

Wow! This stuff really works! I put it on my six year old thumbsucker after she fell asleep so that she didn't know what was making her fingers taste so bad. After only two weeks she quit sucking her thumb. It has also tought her to use her silverware all the time.
