We used this for my 8 year old daughter and after one application she stopped. We could not believe it because she used to suck her thumb alot. I would recommend this product!

My 3 year old daughter had sucked her thumb since birth. I needed to stop the habit before her permanent teeth came in so I purchased MAVALA STOP and applied it to her thumb nail as soon as it arrived. WOW!!! I only had to apply it 2 times and she's never sucked her thumb again! It's truly an amazing product. I highly recommend it!!

My kids are 3 and 7, and both of them were thumb suckers. At their dental appointment the hygenist suggested we try this. I told her the Thum we got from the pharmacist was not effective. She assured me this was diferent. It was! My son (3) hasn't sucked his thumb since that day at the dentist, which was 4 weeks,1 day ago. The taste was so awful that he hasn't even tried putting his thumb in his mouth. And understand, he was an all-day-long thumb sucker. It seemed a little mean at the time, but the dentist warned us that both our kids would need orthodontics for perfectly straight teeth due to the thumb sucking. Now I'm hoping my son is young enough that his teeth will even themselves out. I reccomend this to anyone who has a thumb sucker who just won't give it up.

We have ordered this twice but it is not working for us....my son is not bothered with the bitter taste.....he sucks his thumb even after we apply MAVALA on his nails....like every other parent we have tried and tested everything.....i guess it will stop only when he wishes too.

My son is 8 years old and has been sucking him thumb since he was born. A year ago, or more from suggestions from my sons dentist to order this item. Within a few weeks he got use to the taste and back to sucking him thumb. So, now a year later, I tried again, and ordered two bottles and again, only a week or so and back to sucking him thumb. And, I haven't even gone through the first bottle yet?

We purchased this product to help our four year old daughter stop sucking her fingers. Although she tried really hard to do it herself, sucking her fingers had become such a habit she couldn't stop by herself. I would strongly recommend this product for this use. We'll definitely be using it again with our younger daughter when the time comes.

I did research on the internet to find a way to end my three year olds thumb sucking habit. She sucked her thumb for comfort during the day and at night to fall asleep. Well, she was now definitely old enough to where it was time for her to stop. I found that a lot of people suffered a lot of grief in this process and not a lot of people gave the same advice on how to approach the whole thing successfully. I did read over and over how a fair number of kids suck their thumb until they were quite a bit older than three. (Yes, I felt complete fear each time I read that.) Well, people seemed to be pretty sure that they liked the results of the Mavala Stop, so I thought that I would give it a try. Well, after three days she was done. I just painted the product on her thumb nails and explained that it was magic potion to help her stop thumb sucking. She was sad to see her thumb go, but the taste was not worth it to her. I kept her nails painted for two weeks, applying every other day.
The problem has now been what to do with the extra. I then applied the product on my two older girls finger nails for biting. The 12 year old, begged to have the product removed if she worked really hard to stop biting on her own. She did it without the product on her finger nails with the fear of having it painted on her nails again. My 16 year old, wore the product on her nails for two and a half weeks. She now does not bite her nails and she has nails for the first time in her life. Now, she has to clean her finger nails which is better than her eating the dirt as she chewed off her nails.
I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to get a kid to stop thumb sucking or nail biting.

My daughter is about to start Kindergarten and will be losing baby teeth soon. I wanted her to stop sucking her thumb before these events happened. She was so stuck on that thumb that I have an ultrasound picture of her sucking it while in the womb! It worked the first time I appied it, a couple more applications to make sure and we are thumbs free! Thank you Malva!!

I bought this to help my 2.5 year old little boy stop sucking his thumb--and it works great! It stays on for about 3-5 days and then wears off, so you have to re-apply which they don't really like after the first application when they find out how bad it really tastes. But, it is well worth it!!!

My 4 1/2 year old has been biting her nails for almost one year. The night I ordered this online (did a google search for tips) she cried and was wearing 5 bandaids on her finger tips. She had bitten them down to bloody, sore stumps. I tried everything; another product (it washed off), promises of rewards and refusing to paint her nails. She cried because they hurt and she was embaressed.
The day Mavala came in the mail I gave her a bath, gently pushed back her cuticles and applied one coat. We did this each night for 1 week. I am pleased to announce that I had to trim her nails for the first time. Her boo-boos have healed and her hands look beautiful. The stuff is amazing! I just ordered another bottle for my 49 year old girlfriend who is a cronic nail biter.

We bought this for our daughter who is 2 and 1/2 and who's thumb is raw from sucking. We have had to paint it on more than once some days because she has gone back to her thumb even within four hours of painting it on. We also wipe and wash her hands alot (bathroom, eating, daycare) She asks for it some days because she wants to stop. Some days it seems to work and other days she sucks it anyway. We have been inconsistent in putting it on. I keep hoping that with her will and the paint if we do it consistently, there is an end in sight!

My 16 month old son was so addited to sucking his thumb that it was affecting his language development. I used this on him only 3 times and he doesn't suck his thumb at all anymore!!!! It's about a month later and he is teething and will put his fingers and/or thumb in his mouth, but still has no desire to start sucking his thumb again.
Beware of wet finger foods...my son loves green beans and would pick them up and get the MAVALA Stop on the green beans and almost stopped eating them as well. All I had to do is put a dry cracker or bread in that hand and then he would pick everything else up with the "clean" hand, so it didn't end up being a bid deal for us.

It clearly tasted bad and my daughter kept her finger out of her mouth for a day - but then she got used to it or decided the bad taste would be work the sucking - so it really didn't help.

I tried this twice for son when he was 3.5 years and again when he was 4.5 years old. It did not work. The first few days it seemed as though it was working but subsequently he just got used to the taste.
I tasted it once and was very surprised that he continued to suck his thumb because the product tastes ABSOLUTELY AWFUL but if you have a persistent thumb sucker like mine, it doesent work
I have also tried thumbguard which gave better results but did not last long either. At 80$ (Ouch !), the thumbguard is expensive but is well worth it if your child gives up the habit.

I bought this Mavala STOP for my 4 year old daughter who has sucked her thumb since birth. I had tried several things to stop this bad habit but to no avail. Her teeth and mouth were actually beginning to change shape due to this problem. I applied the Mavala STOP the first day, she put it in her mouth and got quite a shock as the flavor is quite bitter and unsavory. She only made that mistake one other time the following day. She has not sucked her thumb since and it has been over 3 months. Her mouth shape is going back to what it is supposed to be and I couldn't be happier. I am thrilled with the results of this product and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is trying to stop nail biting or thumb sucking for adult or child. As a matter of fact, I have two friends who have already purchased the product on my recommendation for nail biting.

This item definitely works...it leaves a taste in your mouth that will soon work into your subconscious and it keeps you from inadvertently putting your fingers into your mouth...it works better than anything I have tried...probably too strong for very young children...best for teens and adults

I have tried just about everything to get my 3 yr old boy to stop sucking his thumb. I have tried other products with no avail, so I thought I would try this. It didn't work. I only took about 5 minutes before he could suck his thumb again. I tried to put on coat after coat but his is very persistent. It helps me stop biting my nails though. It didn't work for the reason I purchased it. Hopefully it might work for others.

I have been a nail biter for most of my life, and this stuff works! You have to remember to apply it every day, and be aware not to lick your fingers or eat anything with your fingers though because the taste has a way of creeping in. Anyway, I loved this product and would totally recommend it!
In one weekend my 4 yr old stopped sucking her thumb!

During the weekend if she accidently sucked her thumb she then drank a glass of water. She knew that the taste was bad and waa cured in 3 days. Thank-you
