This product worked for one day. After that my daughter continued to suck her thumb. If it is a strong habit, this product will not help and was my last resort. I was disappointed.

I have been a nail biter for all of my many years and have tried every stop nail biting product on the market and they all been no better than a bad tasting candy that washes off as soon as your hands are in the water. Mavala Stop is definitely not like those other products. It has the worst taste that has ever been in my mouth, it does not rinse out of your mouth, and it does not wash off your hands for at least three days and after that, there is still residue left in your nail. It is the only product that has ever worked for me. My granddaughter is now using it and does not let her fingers near her mouth with Stop is on her nails. The only part about Stop that I don't like is that, because of the incredibly bad taste, I am unable to floss my teeth when it is on my nails. But that's a downside I can put up with. There are other products on the market that will substitute for floss.

This product did not work for my 3 year old. The first day or two I had it on him he said he didn't like it, but he quickly got used to it and now bites his nails constantly. He doesn't care that it's disgusting. I tried it and it really is gross. It just didn't discourage him from biting. I am disappointed.

My daughter stopped biting her nails after I used this product for approximately one week. My neice who used to suck her fingers since she was born (for 3yrs),stopped sucking her fingers in one day after using this nailpolish . My brother who is 30 and has used every product imaginable wants to order a bottle because he cannot believe how awful it tastes. I took a risk spending the money but it is well worth it. You will be very pleased.

My daughter (14m) sucked her thumb at every opportunity, primarily boredom and to sleep at night and general comforting. I was okay with it and know it's important to self soothe, etc, but dentist gave me the big 'uh oh' and then i was on a mission to divert dental bills to college fund instead. In addition, her style of sucking was a bit weird - side on so that palm was vertical with bone right on upper gum. The tooth to the left of the top 2 front teeth came through at a weird angle (and i know this is baby teeth and that's okay) so on went the mavala and, although she occasionally sucked through it and all food and anything in contact with mouth/thumb started to taste so bitter, 3 weeks later and she's forgotten the habit. I'm so proud of her and so pleased with the product - first review i've been compelled to write. I confess that sewing up her pyjama hands on oversize pyjamas at night and naps at the same time as the mavala weeks had a massive speeding up effect, but this stuff worked (for us). I bought three bottles thinking we were in for the long haul, lapses etc, but so far we barely got through a quarter of a bottle. No reduction in appetite, increase in talking (that's good, right?...) and no apparent screwing up our child's future through thumb deprivation yet....

A friend told me about this product for my daughter who puts her thumb in her mouth. I tried everything to make her stop and nothing worked she always went back to putting her thumb in her mouth. Until I found this magical product. I have to admit I was skeptical but when I put it on her thumb it took less than a week for her to stop completley. I recommend this for anyone with a thumb in mouth problem

MAVALA Stop worked very quickly. I applied it one time to my four year old's thumb and he stopped his thumbsucking. I had just ordered a replacement retainer to help him stop even though the first retainer didn't stop this behavior. Wish I'd known about this product much earlier!!

I was so skeptical of this product. My daughter was an avid thumb sucker. At 2 1/2 yrs old she constantly had her thumb in her mouth. She also twirled her hair at the same time. She even refused to have her hair in pony tails b/c it would get in the way of her hair twirling. The first two days were very difficult after using the product. The first day she gagged so bad it almost made her throw up. I felt so guilty. She cried and cried for her thumb, but by day 2 it was a little better. By the third day she was sleeping much better and wasn't even trying to suck her thumb. She would ask if she could, but I told her no b/c it tasted bad. It has been a month and she hasn't tried to suck her thumb in weeks. She no longer twirls her hair either b/c it was related to thumb sucking. She even lets me do pony tails!!!! THANK YOU MAVALA! I can't believe this product worked. It's a miracle. Nobody believed it would work. My mother and husband thought I was crazy for trying it and they are shocked that she stopped sucking her thumb within 3 days.

My almost 3 year old daughter sucked her finger all through the night, and she would actually be upset about it in the morning when she saw that her finger was wrinkled from being in her mouth all night. The first time she tasted this on her finger, that was all it took for her to stop and now over a month later she has yet to suck her finger at all. She even insists that we paint her finger with it every night before bed, just to make sure! Definitely worked for us, and just know that a little goes a long way.

My 5 year old has been sucking his thumb ever since he was born. I tried putting mittens on him and nothing worked. I was a little skeptical at first but once I tried MAVALA I was so happy I ordered it. I put it on both his thumb nails and after he slipped up and put his thumb in his mouth the first night, he never sucked his thumb again! It made him wake up with a nasty taste in his mouth. It was simply amazing. I recommend this product to anyone who has a thumb sucker!

Works for 2-3 days and my daughter hates that, but won't wash off in the bath, pool etc. Has temporarily stopped thumb sucking and we hope she will find another way to get to sleep soon!

This stuff is great! I purchased it for my 2 yr old son and his 2 yr old cousin. They both sucked their thumbs for awhile but no more! The first day, my son vomited b/c he sucked his thumb while eating a snack. After that, he quickly learned not to do that. Stopping was much easier for the 2 of them then we expected. If we catch them on occassion, we just ask them if they want us to put the "Yucky" stuff on again. Out comes the thumb quickly! This stuff is awesome!

This product is a good one for anyone who wants their kids to stop thumb sucking or nail biting .In just the first few uses I saw a difference in my child's thumb sucking habit. In a week she completely stopped and I could see an improvement in her eating habits, general behavior and overall health . Thanks Folica for this great product!

My daughter just turned six and had a terrible thumb sucking habit. I had tried other products in the past and they tasted bad, but she just endured the yuckiness until the taste was gone. This product worked on the first try. Kids were starting to tease her and overnight she has gained a greater self confidence. She thought she would never be able to kick this habit, but with the help of this product she has! Thank you!

My daughter sucked her thumb from the time she was born. She is now 3.5 years old. We tried everything. When we would tell her to stop she would make a sad face and say, "I was born like this, papa." Then there would be guilt and I would give in. We got the product on Wednesday and used it right away, that was the last day she sucked her thumb. Woww, highly recommend the stuff.

I have tried countless products to discourage my child from sucking her thumb. Up until now, nothing had worked. The first day I applied Mavala to her thumb the bad habit was gone!!

This stuff is GREAT! My 5 year old nails were down to nothing, and the tips of his fingers were raw and bleeding! It took less than a week, and he stopped. I thought that he would think that it was a punishment that it was on his nails, since I was always nagging to stop. So, I did it when he was asleep, and I explained that the "yucky" tasting stuff was just a reminder to help his fingers heal. It does not wash off, dries incredibly fast, and really is clear. THANK YOU MAVALA!

Within days my 5 year old son stopped biting his nails. He is now very proud of this - and the nagging from me has stopped.
