this works the BEST for me submitted by: Kathy - New Jersey, Wed Nov 07 2007

I found the application brush to be too short bristled - I seem to always have smudges from applying - so I use the wand/brush from another mascara and load it up with this Mavala product also stroked the Mavala brush into the other wand to transfer the product - so now I have the ease of application with a wand I like better - the formula is SO GREAT that it really does not ever smudge and only flakes if left on overnight - even then it still looks terrific to wake up with nice lashes - I only redip the wand I'm using in the Mavala tube every 3rd or 4th time I use it - May seem like too much work but I am very happy with my results and applying takes so much less time then with all the other mascaras I've tried - this one is nice and wet goes on fast and evenly - no clumping - just wish they would offer a different wand design - I will buy this again
Reducing undereye smudge submitted by: Teresa, Tue Jul 31 2007

I have found that using a waterproof mascara on my bottom lashes generally eliminates undereye smudge. I don't like to use waterproof mascara on my top lashes because of breakage so this is something that works for me.
