The product is creamy because a lot of us over exfoliate thinking "more pain, more gain" Most all of the time this is not true with skin. Also...the smaller the bead in an exfoliator the better. A small bead can get in larger pores and clean them out. If harsh or large chunks of "grit" (like Apricot scrub)are used to exfoliate it is not cleaning out pores. This is why Biore markets as a blackhead scrub. You want to gently exfoliate not remove layers of skin. Many times after exfoliation little breakouts will come up to surface...usually a sign the skin care you have been using is not a good fit for you.
