can this hold a hot item?
I am curious as to whether or not this curling iron holder could hold a hot (very hot) hair straightener. Sometimes my daughter forgets to unplug it, so I am looking for a safe place for it to stand and not cause a fire. Is this capable of holding the heat from a hot flat iron? Is there a better stand for this?

No, this appliance holder will not be able to withstand the hot flat iron. Maybe get a heatproof iron pouch or mat
