I used the JFM beard formula for months with no problems. Then, like many others here, I developed a poison ivy type rash on my face. Unless they change the formula back agian, I recommend avoiding this product altogether.

Has anyone considered legal action againt JFM. I call the toll free number and they told me it was my fault i got the rash and soars. The said i should have patch tested the product every time i used it even after 3 years of use. I guess its easy to blame one person, but what if we all contacted them????
Weeping, oozing blisters

I'm actually writing this because I had to take care of my husband. He used this on his goatee over the weekend, then went out of town. He called me a couple of days later, saying his chin was on fire, and to please get him in to see the doctor when he got back. He drove back on Friday, and I met him at the doctor. His chin stuck way out like Jay Leno, and was doubled. It was purple and oozing, really gross. He came out of the doctor with four prescriptions - prednisone, Vicodin for pain, Cipro, and Bactrim. The doctor also told him another day or two and he would have been in the hospital cleaning up a staff infection. I am keeping the box, and we have taken photographs, in the event there is a class action lawsuit. This stuff is dangerous. Do NOT buy it!
Bad irritation and cracking of skin and lips

When I first started using this product, I didn't have any problems for the first few months or so. But then I started developing very bad skin irritation. I had open sores on my chin, red blotches on my face, and a constant burning, itching sensation on my lips that resulted in cracking and bleeding. After I discontinued using the product, it took several weeks into months before my skin and lips finally returned to normal. A very unpleasant experience indeed! Would not recommend this product at all.

I just recently shaved my beard and moustache because the irritation and burns were so bad (remember to trim the beard off, don't dare shave it..) This was the only way to cure the disastrous results from this product. I have been using JFM for years with no problem until recently. A combination of Calaydril (greasless) and Lanacane worked to rid the pain and itching. Heat some Aloe, rub it the affected area and leave on for 3 minutes after which you wash off before applying the medication works great. Problem goes away in 4 days. stay away from the product. It gives an extreme case of dermatitis.
Colors More Than Gray

I have brown hair and used this product hoping to color just the grays. First, it does not just color the gray..it colors every strand of hair and if you leave it in for the full 5 minutes, it will turn your hair black. I dont like this product at all.

I'd used this product for years without a problem... then... BAM... the itchiest rash I've ever felt... and it won't go away. It fades sometimes but always seems to return. Personally, I'd rather look old than look sick and have to deal with this itch, itch, itch! I will never use this stuff again!

I found this web site, because I was looking for help to relieve my pain from this product.I will never use Just for Men again. I guess they want a good reason to drop this product. GOOD! I also took off work today.

I used it on my beard for 10 years with no problem. All of a sudden I put it on and it started burning. I washed it off and the itching will not go away (that was three weeks ago) I tried benadryl and Cortaid - did not help.
It sounds like I got off lucky compared to most of these guys.
Any ideas what I can try to stop the itching?

Please have this stuff recalled.

Just For Men designed for coloring the mustache caused burning, blisters, and swelling to my mustache area, the rim of my upper lip, and the area of hair under my lower lip. The formula seems to be more harsh than it was back in the 1990's.

i have used just for men before with no problem until recently.i tested a spot on my wrist leaving it on 48 hours as per the directions.there were no signs of a reaction, so i put the shampoo in my hair.leaving in 4mins. there was some burning but not to bad until the next day . my scalp was blisted burning and oozing.along with my entire head and face swollen.jfm said to try benadryl and baby shampoo. after trying this the next morning i awoke with my face so swollen my eyes were nearly swollen shut.its been a week and the swelling has gone down but now the test area on my wrist, has caused my wrist and hand to swell.i do not understand why this product is still on the shelf.there needs to be a class action suit taken against this corp.my entire forehead is scabbed .i have not worked in over a week and am enbarrassed to be seen by other people.also i now have hives on my neck chest, and arms.being self employed this has caused me to lose business as well as client.if anyone know of anything that will take this away please let me know
Reaction to JFM Moustache Product

I have used this product for over 10-years and this past year used it to color my moustache and wow "allergic reaction" broke out with red bumps and, itchy as heck". I don't know why they changed the product. The old product was much better with no side effects. I am thinking of using another product such as "Wofs Head Beard Dye" the company is located in Altoona, PA. The cost is a bit higher however, they do not use any harsh chemicals in their dye. I would like to stick to JFM but, the irritation is not worth it. I like JFM because it colors very nice and only takes 5-minutes. It is economically feasible to use and every store in the US sales this product. Has anyone heard from the company on what they plan to do about the product? They should go back to the original formula!
blisters

I just used this product for the first time. It was the formula for beards. I used it on my goatee and it has left me with a chin full of bad blisters that have been oozing all day. It took a full day for any reaction to appear, so I was very surprised. I can't believe any product that can cause such a reaction is even on the market.

Burning, Itchy, Redness.......................

It seems to be a recurring theme on the message board. I used the dark brown facial hair dye for 6 months with no reaction, the last two treatments though have bought my whole face out in a severe rash. It is extremely itchy, red and given me scabs around my mouth and under my beard. It is particularly bad at night, and I have found the whole experience quite distressing.
I am quite reluctant to get get of beard but not really sure of any similar products on the market place. Can anyone advise?
Blisters and Itches

I agree with those who say that the formulation of this product has changed for the worse. I have experienced the same running blister like sores, and extreme itching that others have described. I used the facial hair product and thought that my face would be permanently scared. I left the product on for less than the prescribed five minutes, but it made no difference.
Don't walk away from this product, run as fast as you can. My vanity isn't worth the excruciating pain and itching that this product caused. Along with others, I can't believe that this product remains on the market.

I used this product with no adverse reactions for about 2 months. Then WOW//// My chin broke out in a red itchy rash and my upper lip developed a severe itch in part of it..The itching was so bad that it actally caused me to rub it and then have the skin become broken and weeping. It seems to be forever healing...It has been 1 1/2 months now with no relief....Just when I think it is better it gets irritated again ....Going to a dermatoligist this week...

You gotta be kidding with this product!
It is a widespread issue that it seems that everyone is having!
My face feels like I put acid on it!
And you can't wash it out!
I am scracthing my face mercilessly, & feel like I'm going nuts!
You better pull this product from the shelves immediately & refund any monies spent on this product by anyone who is having this issue.
I wonder if there's gonna be class-action on this product very soon....I can smell it.
