Product Rating: 5 Better Price, Longer Lasting
Reviewer: Katie from Mableton, GA  Tue Jul 18 2006

Lasts a lot longer compared to Manic Panic Hair Creams. Smells nice while dying, colours are bright and fade out bright.

Product Rating: 5 Long-lasting color
Reviewer: Michele from Pennsylvania  Mon Jul 17 2006

When I've used other semi-permanent coloring products in the past, they've tended to start fading in as little as 1-2 weeks. I colored my hair over 3 weeks ago and the Punky Color has yet to start fading.

After bleaching my hair, I mix half a jar of rubine with half a jar of ebony and get a really nice dark burgundy with fuschia and purple highlights. I keep the color on for 3-4 hours or longer (wearing a cap the entire time). I also mix a little conditioner/reconstructor into the color to help counteract the damaging/frying effects of the bleach.

After trying so many other semi-permanent coloring products, I'm going to stay with Punky Color.

I bleached my hair then use this to color my hair (blue/black) as it suggested on the label. I had no problem with it, my hair turned navy blue which I really loved. The only thing I regret was bleaching my hair first. Dark color dyes should be used on dark hair or on a non contrasting color. After a while in the sun and washing, the blue/black started to fade, letting my bleached bright yellow hair cstart to appear, which showed as the color green =|. The product will last a month or two. I recommend it.

So far the Punky hair color has held up. I play softball and so far the color has not come out. This seems to be a quality dye.

Product Rating: 5 longer lasting than others

I used manic panic for years when I was younger. At that time it was the only colouring of it's type available. Then I discovered jerome russell through folica. It covers easily and thoroughly and the color is very intense and lasts FOREVER. It took me 4 months to go through a jar. I went to my local hair supply and all they had was manic panic so I tried it once again. It took a full jar to cover my only part of my hair and the color isn't nearly as brilliant. I recommend jerome russell to everyone!

Product Rating: 5 Beautiful.

Gorgeous and intense --- it hasn't faded a bit in weeks! Every few days, a random co-worker will say to me, "Oh my gosh, you re-dyed your hair AGAIN? You really keep up with it!" Little do they know that I haven't refreshed my color at all; it literally stays super-bright pink on its own.
I get tons of compliments on my Rose Red hair every day at work (including one from an elderly lady who commented that I looked "as pretty as a peach").

Very easy product to use and the final color is excellent. This item is great if you are looking for a short term hair color change. I did not start to loose the color until after about 6th time washing. Would highy recommend this item.

Product Rating: 5 I Love This Color Line!
Reviewer: Stephanie from Layton Utah  Mon Mar 13 2006

I used the Rose Red last July and it stayed in my hair until February. It faded to a really pretty pink color just on the very ends of my hair. I am a hair stylist and this is the ONLY color line I'll ever used to get a rich true color! I have tried: Manic Panic, Splat, ISO, Pravana, and many others, none of them was anywhere near the color that I liked and stayed in my hair as long as Punky does! This stuff WORKS GREAT!!!!

Product Rating: 5 The only kind I recommend!
Reviewer: bonasativa   Wed Feb 22 2006

I've been using plum for about 5 years & I've tried every kind (all the brands) and this is by far the best there is. So don't even bother wasting your time & money trying anything else. I just wish they would make a permenant one!

Product Rating: 5 Punky is Great!

I have used punky color hair dye many times. It is a very gentle dye. It actually makes your hair softer. If you bleach first it will be brighter, the healthier your hair the less the dye will stay in. I leave it on for hours to get the best color and it doesn't wreck my hair.

This product did nothing for my brown hair. I brought the bright red...and let's just say it was a waste of money. All it did was made my hair look wet for about a minute and it made my fingers red.

Product Rating: 5 Rose Red
Reviewer: wild.horses from Montreal, QC  Sun Jan 08 2006

I love love LOVE this hair dye. When I first dyed my hair pink, I used manic panic. It worked well on some parts of my hair but not others, it looked like tie-dye. Another time I had it done at a hair salon, and the color faded out almost completely after a week. Then I re-dyed my hair using Rose Red by Punky Color, and it came out fantastic. My hair was magenta for a few days and I was afraid that the color was too dark, but within a week it faded to a beatiful fuschia/hot pink color and stayed that way for weeks. Now I re-dye my hair about every 8-10 weeks, when it starts fading to a baby pink color (I have very thick, coarse hair that I bleach before dying it, so it takes color very well). I find that the color looks best when I straighten my hair, the pink really shines.
This dye produces beautiful color that lasts a long time, it smells great, and it leaves your hair feeling soft and smooth. The only things you have to watch out for are staining your bathtub, clothes, and linens. Also, the colors shown on the jar are probably not the exact color you will get unless your hair is white blond, but the color is still awesome.

When I turned 50, I decided I would be able to wear my hair any darn color I wanted to. I love this product. I can change colors frequently since it washes it in about a week. The colors are vibrant and quite frankly adhere nicely to the part of my hair that is grey. My faorite colors are purple and turquoise

Product Rating: 5 spring green rox my sox!
Reviewer: Moose   Wed Dec 14 2005

i used spring green in my hair over the summer and it lasted me over 2 and a half months! i did bleach my hair beforehand. the color came out a GORGEOUS green, i'd never seen a green this cool before, and i thought it would fade into an ugly color, but man was i wrong! it got lighter but was definitely green still, i was shocked! i had used plum before but i didnt keep it in til it faded so i didnt know how the green would fade, but it was AWESOME! i will never use any other product to dye my hair wacky colors! so dude, if ur lookin for a good product, PUNKY COLOUR is it, no doubt! it fades slowly, doesnt kill your hair, and doesnt fade into strange or ugly colors! i <33333 punky colour!

Product Rating: 5 The only hair dye that works.
Reviewer: Diana   Wed Nov 09 2005

It's the only hair dye that has been successful in my hair and my current Rose Red and Violet hair has lasted me for over two months so far. Punky colors has always lasted for atleast a month before beginning to fade. Manic Panic barely tinted my hair after I bleached it, and Raw Color already looked washed out right after I dyed my hair. I am sold on Jerome Russel's product and will never switch hair dyes.

This stuff was such a disappointment when I first put it on. There was pink goo just everywhere (bring your Tilex to the bathroom with you). I had washed out my hair and shampooed after leaving this on for an hour or so. I thought it had fried my hair because it felt dry and disgusting. Everytime I touched my head there was more darn pink crap in my fingernails, on my clothes, running down my forehead, etc. At this point I got pissed and decided I was going to wash the mess out completely. I washed my hair five times, this stuff would not budge, so I gave up. I got out and my hair was a gorgeous red and not dry at all. The key is to wash all the crap out. I had residue in my hair and that's why it felt so dead. It's been about two weeks (I wash my hair every day) and the color is now starting to fade out a bit on my slightly processed hair. I did not bleach like some, but I dye my black-brown hair to a medium brown and red wine gave me a dark red mane.

Product Rating: 5 I found it!
Reviewer: Sharla   Fri Oct 21 2005

I live in a small town with a lot of conservatives. Good quality pink hair dye is hard to find here. But I found it on line, my favorite hair color, Flamingo Pink. It turned out great as usual and it last more than 40 washes as the jar says. Mind you the out-grow of your hair and fading does happen but a good nice pink is always found in my hair.

Product Rating: 4 Atlantic blue! everywhere.
Reviewer: Mrs. Allison S. McCabe from New Jersey  Sun Oct 02 2005

I tried Atlantic Blue in the can a few years back. I applied it to my dry, non-bleached, dark-blonde hair. It took beautifully, and looked awesome. It lasted for months, eventually turning greenish after a few weeks, since my hair is blonde, but it still looked cool. The only problem I had with it, is that it kept appearing on my pillowcase and the phone receiver long after I applied it and washed it numerous times.

Product Rating: 3 Turquoise blue
Reviewer: Turquoise blue   Tue Sep 20 2005

I just tried Jerome Russell's Punky Hair color on my daughter. Overall I liked it, and I would use it again. My daughter wanted the tips of her dirty blonde hair to be blue. I didnt want to bleach the ends of her hair so I decided to try the dye without bleaching. The dye was easy to apply, smelled great!, and in general not as messy as I thought it would be (no dripping!). I applied it to her dry, just shampooed hair with no conditioner in it. The color took well, however, it was not the color (Lagoon Blue) that we were looking for. I am guessing the natural yellow color of her hair mixed with the blue dye to create a turquoise blue color instead of lagoon blue. This was ok with my daughter. She still loved it! I think the color would have been more true to a lagoon blue if we had bleached her ends. But like I said, it was ok, and we would do it again. My daughter wants to try another color! Also, the color is fading a little faster than I expected. I guess its my daughter's hair, but it faded significantly after just one shampoo. Again, I am guessing it would last longer on more porous hair or bleached hair. It looks like the color of the caribbean, it looks nice!

Product Rating: 1 Not for facial hair
Reviewer: Chris from Decatur, IL  Wed Sep 07 2005

My own fault, but I have been trying to find a color for my long "fu-man-chu"/"goatee" for a very long time. I thought this time I had finally found one. I actually went to the company website and thought for sure that a semi-permanent color that FINALLY had a wide range of tints would actually work. However, this product does not work for facial hair either. I guess I can keep looking.
