I just tried Jerome Russell's Punky Hair color on my daughter. Overall I liked it, and I would use it again. My daughter wanted the tips of her dirty blonde hair to be blue. I didnt want to bleach the ends of her hair so I decided to try the dye without bleaching. The dye was easy to apply, smelled great!, and in general not as messy as I thought it would be (no dripping!). I applied it to her dry, just shampooed hair with no conditioner in it. The color took well, however, it was not the color (Lagoon Blue) that we were looking for. I am guessing the natural yellow color of her hair mixed with the blue dye to create a turquoise blue color instead of lagoon blue. This was ok with my daughter. She still loved it! I think the color would have been more true to a lagoon blue if we had bleached her ends. But like I said, it was ok, and we would do it again. My daughter wants to try another color! Also, the color is fading a little faster than I expected. I guess its my daughter's hair, but it faded significantly after just one shampoo. Again, I am guessing it would last longer on more porous hair or bleached hair. It looks like the color of the caribbean, it looks nice!

My own fault, but I have been trying to find a color for my long "fu-man-chu"/"goatee" for a very long time. I thought this time I had finally found one. I actually went to the company website and thought for sure that a semi-permanent color that FINALLY had a wide range of tints would actually work. However, this product does not work for facial hair either. I guess I can keep looking.

punky color is my favorite dye for odd colors(ie:green blue pink etc) but there is one warning, if you wash it with hot water is does come out MUCH faster then if you wash it with cold/warm water

I used the Atlantic Blue on my natural brunette hair for a short-term effect - 80s-day at work where I really surprised everyone. The color was unmistakeably blue, even though it only "highlighted" my natural brown, and stayed blue as it washed out. It lasted for about 3 days of strong color with daily washing, almost completely washing out within 10 days. Though a little color remained in my naturally grey and blond highlights well over 2 weeks after the application.
For those living in hot, sweaty areas, like Florida, I recommend using an old disposable pillowcase for the duration. And watch the back of your neck if you sweat a lot, sometimes there was a little color on the washcloth after washing up at the end of the day, especially early on. This may not be a problem in cooler or dryer climates.
I would use this product again. The color was vibrant, and did not change color as it washed out.

This is the best smelling hair coloring product ever! I have used vermillion red, midnight blue and plum. I have plum on my hair right now. It lightens up a lot after about a week but then it stays that lighter color for quite a while. When I first put the plum on, hardly anyone noticed it since the rest of my hair is jet black. After about a week, it actually looked like a barney purple and it was more noticable. The key is to get all the color out of your hair before you put it on. It is very hard to get all the color out of my hair when I bleach it so I am sure someone with white-blonde hair will end up with a more true color. I wish I could use the midnight blue but because I can't get my hair white-blonde, it turned green after a couple of days. So, purple it is! I just love to have fun with colors in my hair and I am lucky enough to have an employer that doesn't care what color(s) my hair is! :)

The Product works great for what it promises long-lasting vibrant colors. There are a few issues. 1. The colors shown DO NOT exactly match what your color will be, even bleached.
Poppy Red on Bleached Hair turned out much more pink than red.
Follow the directions regarding the hairline because you will end up with dye staining the skin around your hairline. Also use gloves when rinsing as well as you will stain fingernails. Finally have plenty of cleaner around because you will stain your sink or tub when you rinse. Good idea to have a consistent towel for dryoff the first few days as you will put dye stains on it drying your hair.
Jerome Russell products are the best!!!

I love using this haircolor line because I always know I'm going to love the results and it won't fade as fast as other products do. And my hair always feels great afterwards. I wouldn't use anything else!
recccomend bleaching, but works well without!

my hair is dark brown. i really look sickly and weird when i bleach my hair, so i really never do it. then i bought this. i decided to take my chances and not bleach before i dyed my hair. it came out wonderful! the color with punky is beyond compare! only drawback is that i have a lot of bright red towels now.

I have naturally blonde hair, and a few years ago i got bored with it and decided i needed a change. I bought manic panic haircolour in hot hot pink. The colour was amazing but faded WAY to quickly. I got sick of having to redo my hair all the time so i decided to just bleach it out. Then i met a guy who had bright green hair, and his didn't fade at all. I asked him what he used, and when he told me about punky's, i decided to give pink another shot. I had never heard of it before, and i'm so glad i was told about it. I now have Punky's "Rose red" and i absolutely LOVE IT! The colour lasts so much longer than anything else, even on my hair that doesn't really hold colour all that well. Now, if only punky's had Perminent haircolour....

My natural hair color is between a level 1 or 2 (meaning theat i can never ever achieve that white blond color that most hair colors require to work) and I have tried almost every product available for the intense non-natural colors. Most of them don't last long (Manic Panic being the worst offender), or look muddy in the areas where the color lifts only to a level 7 or 8 (Raw Color does this horribly). I tried Jerome Russell with some trepidation because it was inexpensive and the packaging looks cheap. Boy was I suprised!
The color is clear and the difference in prelightening actually accents the color giving great vibrancy with tones and highlights. It is healthier that I thought possible and I have the coolest hair ever! I have used it for 5+ years (bleaching my hair ever 8-10 weeks and changing color) and I have never had condition issue with the follicle.
The long and short is that Jerome Russell rocks! Definately worth it!

Punky Colour by far has been awesome for me as I have sensitive skin and break out with Dermititis if I dye my hair. I've never had any problems with Punky Colour making my skin break out whatsoever and the color stays in my hair for about a week looking natural. A+++

I've dyed my hair A LOT. Used Manic Panic - Color Jamz - Special Effects - Color Jazzing - RAW, But I really dont think any of them could compare to Jerome Russells " Punky Colors " Not too long ago I went back to " Sallys Beauty Supply " and sadly noticed they were not carrying it anymore. When I stumbled Upon this site I was simply overjoyed. This Hair dye lasts the longest. Funny thing is I got the Jerome Russle "Punky Professional" Demi-Permanant hair color. I havent been able to find it any wheres else. When I used Raw hair dye I didnt think I could ever find a color so vibrant and outstanding, but Punky Colors proved me wrong. I deff. Reccomend this hair dye and think Hot Topic should start selling this product. Places like Rite Aid should as well. And the price is GREAT!

I am not very satisfied with this hair color. I used Flame on my boyfriend's hair, and it came out orange. Not red in the least. I used Coral Red on my hair... I ended up dying it twice, since it looked light orange at first... and now my hair is a bright orange color. I'm fine with my results... but do not use Coral Red unless you want orange hair. Beware of Flame! Not red at all!

. . .use this product. i have really blond hair and was highly concerned about the stuff staying in TOO long (!), but i did i little patch test (very important if you're not sure) and i only left the stuff on for 20 minutes. flamingo pink is my color. . .it was really bright after i first did it, but then it toned down after awhile, and it's going away fast enough that i trust it won't stay in my hair forever! yay! (i have a job starting in august and i can't have pink hair then). easy to use product, and it smells like some flavor of those sniffable '80's markers *yum*. if you're as cautious as i am about screwing up my hair, go with this product. just be careful and patch test and wear gloves, etc., and you'll figure it out. and it didn't screw my hair up at all--still as healthy as it was beforehand.

I've tried about about 4 other temporary dyes like this, but this is my favorite. I've tried paintbox, raw, and special effects, and manic panic. Punky color is easier to get out of the container, since its in a jar and the others i've tried were in squeeze bottles. It is the best smelling dye i've used...it smells kind of like grapes. The color fades as fast as any other dye, depending on how often you wash your hair. I found that if you add some dye to your shampoo and conditioner, it really intensifies the color and prolongs it. I'm hooked on this product! It's fabulous!
10 out of 5. by far.

this hair color is the BEST hair color i have ever used. i have tried everything you can imagine for a deep, vibrant European-style shade of red--i've even used salon color + vibrant paintbox colors like Fudge--and this one kicks every single ass. i have been using it for as long as i can imagine... probably about 5 years. it is especially great on thick, porous hair (this is what my hair is like naturally) with alot of texture. absolutely a 10 out of 5! *kisses Jerome Russell*

I love the punky hair color turquoise. There is no other color on the market that colors better. Other color lines color too dark or too pale. This color is just right just enough blue with green. It dosent look like a hair mistake, like a lot of other pros' try to produce on their clients. This is the next best thing to your own custimized color. I just whish that this color was more avalible in my neck of the woods. When i cant find it mixing the LAGOON BLUE with GREEN APPLE is just as good!

My daughter has had several different colors of hair in the past. The problem that we have is that the colors always fade within a week or two. What started out as bright blue is a faded green in no time. We tried plum from Folica and it is the brightest and prettiest color we have used yet. It has been two weeks since we put the color on and it looks as good as it did the day we did it. We love it!

This hair dye, for me anyway, lasts at least 5 weeks. The color stays and barely fades at all. The color is also better then anything I have used in my hair before. This is now the only dye I will use to get the totally awesome color I crave!!!
