I have medium brown hair, which red should I use?I want it to fade to like an auburn, not like pink/purple or bright orangealso, would it be possible to dye just my bangs with this stuff? like with it run onto the red of my hair?or should I bring it to a hair salon or something? i used to have black hair, with bright purple bangs.and I LOVED IT.but i couldnt find a dye that came outthe shade that i liked.i found that if i combed inbeyond the zone, raspberry kamikaze, and blow dryed it,the color would be amazing.but it was ruining my hair, and i had to re-do it every time i washed my hair.heres the url for a good picture, that shows the color i want pretty well. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=109138122&albumID=1276172&imageID=14862873will this product give me the color i want?thank you Question posted by Lizz Tayloy Sun Jun 29 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Amanda

The lighter the color, the more vibrant the pink will be. If your hair is a light brown, it MAY show up. But it definitely will not be the pink you want.
I would suggest bleaching it first if you want a really good outcome. | | Reply by Renata

I also do not like to bleach my hair, but if you think about it, the tips being bleached, if your hair is longer is not so bad. My hair is also long, and I refuse to permanently dye or bleach any of my hair but the tips, since cutting it off is an option if you do not like the outcome. | Reds
I'm looking for a red color that is really vibrant, but not orange, not brown (auburn) and not too dark.My natural color was auburn as a kid, but turned brown with age. I've been dying my hair and the reds just drop off within weeks! Right now, I have a dark reddish brown hair with black streaks in the front and bleached in the back and some bleached streaks throughout the crown area. Which of the red colors should I use? The best bet for you would be the Rubine shade.. On "natural" colored hair it will basically act as a "refresher"..of course it will be true to color as the swatch pictured on the website since that is shown on white hair. | Lagoon Blue or Turquoise?
I've decided to dye streaks, in my hair, blue. But one of the concerns, is which shade of blue to get. I'm interested in the Lagoon Blue color that's shown under the Product Details. But in the Customer Reviews, I've seen many pictures of people using/labeling the color Turquoise. But in my opinion compared to the color shown under Product Details, the color resembles more of a Lagoon Blue than Turquoise. So is the outcome of Turquoise color different than the one labeled under Product Details? I'm sorry if the question is confusing. Question posted by Cyn Sun Feb 17 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by AG

Not confusing - and I thought the same thing. I suspect some of them may have actually used Lagoon Blue (which is turquoise-ish). It's a slightly brighter, truer blue (more like cyan) than Turquoise, which has a tiny bit of green it it. When fresh they look very similar, but they can sometimes fade differently, depending on factors like base color, water, shampoo, sun exposure, etc. Lagoon Blue tends to fade into more of a sky blue, whereas Turquoise can yellow a little into a slightly greenish tint. You can keep the colors truer longer and ensure more even fading by bleaching as close to white as possible, then toning with something like Wella's Fanci Tone color toner in Ultra White Minx (the semi-permanent toner, not the rinse; use per instructions with 10 or 20 volume developer) 1-7 days before coloring. Hope this helps. | Dark Hair
I have really dark brown hair, and always wanted to dye my hair some of these vibrant colors.I seen a pic of a girl that used the poppy red,and I loved the color. So I was wondering if there was a way to dye my hair some of these colors without actually bleaching it,but where it will be highly noticable. not likely will it show up,
to get the effects you want, like the poppy red photograph -
you will either have to peroxide or bleach prior to the colour use. | do i HAVE to bleach my hair
basicly...im NOT DOING it...i have light brown hair and i want to dye it blue. what will ahppen if i8 dont bleach it??will it just fade, turn green, or not change at all Question posted by owen Thu Dec 27 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Genevieve

Depending on how well your hair can soak up dye, it might come out greenish blue. But after even one shampoo your hair will probably turn green.
Bleaching is very annoying and it makes your hair feel like straw, but it's very worth it. Many semi-permanent dyes actually make your hair feel very nice even after bleaching the heck our of your hair.
But I would warn you that blue is a very tricky color to dye, as even bleaching your hair to a light yellow can make your hair turquoise. Using a toner after bleaching will take out yellow tones from your hair and condition it. | does this come out?
i was wondering if i died part of my hair with either a blue or purple, would it come out completely when i'm finished? i have blond hair (almost dirty blond) and i'm NOT bleaching my hair. will this come out completely when i'm done? or will i be left with a nasty tint?thanks! This WILL last on blonde hair. Even without bleaching it will take at least a month of normal washing before it starts fading. Fortunately, punky color generally fades in a really natural way. Even the faded color usually looks good. Once it reaches the end of it's life (which depends on your particular hair type and washing habits) it may begin to look blonde again in some areas before others (my tips have lightened up considerably more, but I haven't died my hair in 4-7 months).
If you mean what color it will be when you finish dying it, that's going to depend on your exact hair color. It's not going to look the color of the samples unless you bleach it first, that's for sure. But punky color generally looks nice. | dark hair + unnatural dye = ?
after dying my hair dark brown and it returning to my naturalcolour, i'm bored. i stumbled across this product by accident and was wondering if it would work well on dark hair? i don't mind bleaching my hair, apart from the upkeep, but i'm not 'allowed' vibrant colours for the college course i'm on. therefore, i would only want to bleach & dye one half of my hair i.e. the underneath. or just dye over the brown - would that colour be noticeable though? obviously i don't expect it to be as vibrant as if i bleach it, just visible? Yes. Depending on the color you choose, of course, it will primarily just add a tint. (For example, yellow over dark brown won't show much if at all.) It will be most noticeable in direct sunlight and to varying degrees in other types of light (ie, incandescent vs fluorescent). I've seen some really striking examples of Punky Colour blues, purples, and reds over dark browns; they come out looking like deep tints, totally appropriate for office or school, but out in natural light they look more saturated. One style that looks good without being too awfully edgy is to bleach a very thin layer under the back of the head (ear to ear, just at the hairline) and then dye the whole head with the same color. Then you have that same tint everywhere and it coordinates with that brighter shade underneath. When you do want to show it more, you can do a pony or updo. [I'm not sure about Punky Colours, but some colors of the Special Effects USA brand are UV-reactive, meaning they show up more or even glow under black light.] Hope this helps. |
