Frustrating at best!

Keep several AAA batteries on hand because this thing goes through them like underwear. Works better after mascara application otherwise curl doesn't last. Very questionable efficacy.

My Japonesque lasted about 2 times. I went to turn it on and the switch had broken and wouldn't budge. Piece of junk. Poorly made.
It Works!!

This product was recommended by my hair stylists. I am an independent beauty consultant (MK) and a heated curling iron was recommended. It works well IF you follow instructions and use mascara FIRST, and let the iron heat the lashes the recommended amount of time 10-15 seconds. I have very thin fine lashes and have tried EVERYTHING to make my lashes look fuller. I don't care for the pinching type of curler. This product CERTAINLY earns top honors for me. I have had at least 5 people want to purchase the product from me!!!!!!!
Loved it

I use it after putting on mascara. It really curves my eyelashes, it makes me look as if I was using fake eyelashes. Love it!
Did not do a thing

I bought this lash curler thinking it would curl my lashes but it did less than half what a regular metal non heated curler would do. Save your money!!!
ooo so curly..

I actually really liked this product, even after reading the mixed reviews on it. I have really long eyelashes and regular curlers just make kinks in them. This one works really well on the corner lashes, you just have to make sure you get your lashes into the grooves. My mom had trouble using it, and complained that it didnt work, but after i showed her how she loved it too. I definatly recommend it!

I love this eyelash curler and have never gotten so many compliments on my eyes since I started using this. I'm ordering three more for my mother and girlfriends.

I have to wait until the thing get hot which it doesn't. I had to heat it up myself to speed up the time. The curl does not last when it does curl. Too much time spent trying to get a curl that only last half an hour.

I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS. I TRIED IT WITH AND WITHOUT MASCARA. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH WAY YOU DO IT, IT DOESN'T WORK.
Love It!!

This is the 3rd one I have bought, and I love it!!! The 3rd is a gift for a friend. The first one lasted me for 2 years. This product makes me with no lashes look like I have lashes.

I have used traditional eyelash curlers in the past. These metal crimp curlers pull out my eyelashes. My eyelashes are very easy to pull out due to recent chemotherapy. A Mary Kay consultant introduced this product to me. I put my mascara on first, push the eyelashes toward the lid, then complete the curl by lifting up the lashes. The only drawback is the product eats batteries. Fresh batteries make the product hotter and therefore curl the lashes better.
best ever eyelash curler

After purchasing the curler,it took me a while to start using it as it was so different. Now I believe that it is the best and easiest curler to use while giving the most natural looking results. One can control the amount of curl, it is fast and lasts all day.
I put my mascara on first and, before it dries, I use the Japonesque. The only drawback is that I have to clean it every other day by gently wiping it with a tissue as it gets mascara on it.

I am disappointed in this product. I expected it to curl my lashes better than a regular 'clamp'style curler. It actually curls the lashes less.
Japonesque Heated Mini Eyelash Curler....is great!

I love this curler and began using it immediately upon receiving it. This is a great make-up accessory. If you want naturally looking curled lashes, this is the item to buy. It doesn't take very long for the the eyelash curler to heat up. Just turn it on when you start to apply your makeup, and by the time you use it, its already heated. I had no problems opening the battery compartment, just use some gentle force if needed. I love that its slim and compact, and fits in your small makeup bag along with your eye pencils and mascara. I suggest you use a regular crimping eyelash curler, apply mascara, allow the mascara to dry, then use the Japonesque Heated Mini Eyelash Curler to give you the beautiful looking curly lashes. If you wish, you can apply one more coat of mascara to your lashes. You must clean the heating element from time to time, the same time you clean your makeup brushes is ideal. Just take a soft bristle toothbrush and brush the mascara gently out. This is best done right after turning the curler off, so that the heating element is still warm, and the mascara hasn't hardened.
Great product!

I love this product. I am not a fan of traditional curlers that make me feel like I am plucking my eyelashes. This is a nice, small curler that works wonders. You MUST MUST MUST put your mascara on FIRST. Then heat the curler and curl your lashes. You must push your lashes up towards your lid, hold for a second, then roll the curler off your lashes. It's AMAZING.
If you try to curl your lashes without mascara on it will NOT work!

I read many complaints about the case breaking- so far, my eyelash curler is in good shape. I hope I didn't just jinx myself. As for the battery life, I still have the battery in it that it came with. IT takes longer than 15 seconds to heat up, but it does get as warm as it did when the battery was brand-new.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
Not the right eyelash curler

I used it for a few weeks instead of the metal kind- to prevent eyelashes from being pulled out. It works minimally and slowly. It cracked when I tried to replace the batteries but still works (not that I have the patience to use it anymore). I'm out $16. HOWEVER, I found a great curler also by Japonesque - the pocket sized plastic one. It curles quickly and does not have sides which pinch the corner lashes. Only $10 or less.
It just doesn't CURL!

It's not worth the money! I get a better curl from a metal curler and I don't evenhave to change the batteries. I was very disappointed in this product.
