My cheap-o straightener has recently broken and im hoping to replace it with a nicer one. i can not figure out which straightener is better the chi or this one. They both have about the same reviews. Which one gets rid of the frizzies the best and is less damaging?

Its good that your taking a step to try to find good quality but I personaly recommend Sedu instead of either. It gives the best results you can get and costs alot less than the Bion irons. Dont waste your money on Bion.
