My mother-in-law introduced me to the infrashine flat iron and it is the best thing ever. I am black and have naturally curly and frizzy hair. I had to straighten my hair with a flat iron that you heat on a stove. It would burn my hair and dry it out all the time and I would have to go over my hair a few times to get it straight. Not anymore! The infrashine flat iron leaves my hair super straight, silky and healthy! And it saves me money. I can do my own hair at home, I only have to go to the salon to get my hair cut now, and it only takes me about 30 minutes to do it. I can straighten and style it all at once. I love it. It works great for any length of hair. I just cut my hair and it is small enough to straighten the back without burning me. I recommend this to everyone.

As you can see from my before and after pictures.....
This is THE best flat iron on my crazy-curly, kinky, THICK, coarse hair!!
It only takes me 45 minutes to fully straighten all of my hair when all of it is still curly and dry..with my old wet-2-straight Remington one, it took me more like 3-4 hours (when it was slightly damp)!! But touch ups in the morning after i've slept on it now only take like 5 minutes!
This product is ahhh-mazing.
My hair stays gorgeously straight all day - and is still totally healthy! No dryness or frying!
I LOVE THIS STRAIGHTENER! It has worked wonders. My half-black friend also got the same exact flat iron! But we didnt know that we both had wanted the same iron until after we both bought it! It is great for her hair too (of course we both set it to 400 degrees, but with our kind of hair, it doesnt hurt it AT ALL!)
NOTE: when you buy this product after owning a more bulky flat iron, BE CAREFUL! I burned myself twice the first two days i owned this iron because i was so use to using my old flat iron where i was able to put my hands closer to the plates...and at 400 degrees! OUCH! Just be extra careful the first couple of days or so until you get used to it!
This iron is well worth the money and i HIGHLY recommend it. :)

This is awsome!! I used to use some conair thing, and I just got this from my momm, and it took me...15 minutes, normally it takes up to 45 minutes!! I was so psyched! ((haha..when I say I just got it..I mean like 15 minutes ago!!)) it's well worth the price!

ok. im rely confused coz me n aunts have the same straighters and bought same day but the thing is tht my aunts starightners glide thru hair so softly n loosly while mine is abit stiff..
i have dropd my striaghtners a bizilion times.. n have had it for a year n 3months now stil workin ^^ but yeh ppl say tht it switches off..tht happends to me but thts because its come outa its socket..not tht it broke
i lOVE these straightners, it makes my hair feel n look so sexy n shiny..been usin it evryday for 1yr3months n my hairs in alright/good condition..but soo many split ends >.<" i alwys have ppl comentin on my hair n askin what straightners i use, but i dont know y ppl use at such high heats.. mine is inbetween 260-340F n works jst fine ^^

i am a hairstylist and just want to say one thing well maybe one thing.. i love this the size is great for everything curls, smoothing, even soft waves i have done it all with this flat iron. the thing is after owning 2 of them i have the same problem as others have.. IT JUST SHUTS OFF and wont wurn on. if you are into fixing things yourself its a pretty easy fix but poor design on their part. there is a pin type connection thing inside and it slips and then the problem is well no connection.. i love this flat iron but the problem really needs fixing. so now on my 3rd and having the same problem again.. i dont know if i will get another.

This is the 2nd InfraShine I have owned. I bought my 1st in 2004, and it finally stopped working 11/07 after daily use. It heats up in an instant and does a great job on my hair. It is the best one I have used! Worth the price.

I have been using this product for about 4 years now and it's still in great shape. It works great, straightens hair in one swipe down, and the results lasts until you wash it. (I have very curly frizzy hair)The downside is that after using this product every day for all these years, it fried my hair so bad. My hair used to be so long, now its shorter than it ever was cause the ends literally fall off. The ends are still so bad and I stopped using the iron (except for my bangs)for the last 5 months. I will need a few more hair cuts to get rid of the fried ends- then hopefully it will start to look longer again. So, to sum it up, it works great- but beware cause too much use WILL fry the hair!

I have super super super curly frizzy hair, so much that i get a chemical relaxer every 6 months, and by the end of that time, its back to being curly and frizzy. the infrashine helps me maintain my hair in whatever state its in. i use it on the highest setting,and it works amazing. ive even dropped it a few times, and its lasted for 2 years! i got one for christmas so my mom and i dont have to share it, and im totally in love!!!

I bought a Chi two years ago. I used it once in a while but wasn't totally happy with it. The Chi blew up in less than a year. My hair stylist used an Infrashine flat iron so I decided to buy it instead. I have had the Infrashine for about a year and I love it! The Infrashine gets hotter than the Chi ever did, which is necessary since I have thick coarse hair. I flat iron often now and I haven't noticed a lot of damage to the hair. Just be sure to use a heat protectant before you iron.
I use Schwarzkopf Repair Rescue Sealed Ends (small amount) all over before ironing. It makes my hair super soft and silky. Much better than BioSilk or anything else I've tried. For extra hold and a good "flip" on the ends I use Redken Hot Sets 22 Thermal setting mist. You can use the Redken spray for strong hold before ironing, or i like to use it after I flat iron and spray a bit under the flipped ends to give it a great soft hold all day.

This is the best flat iron i've ever used and i have had my share of em! My hair is naturally curly and you'd never know it. It heats up to 400 degrees gets your hair super flat without comprimising the shine factor. I recommend this product 100%.

I am African-American and have no chemicals in my hair.My stylist turned me onto flat irons about 2 months ago. At first, I thought she was the only one that could get my hair this bone straight. I shopped around and decided to purchase this 1" iron. It worked just as good as when I go to my stylist! The only caution I would offer to other sistas wanting to do this at home is to start out at a lower temp, like 340 degrees. Don't go up to 400 degrees until you get the hang of this. If you leave it in one place too long at the highest temp, you could burn off your hair. Start out lower and smoothly glide the piece of hair through the iron. It's better to go over the hair a couple of times than to see it fall into the sink.

This flatiron is the best flatiron for anyone. It isn't too bulky and it heats fast and travels well. I burnt my last one out in Europe, due to not having the proper transformer, so I was very pleased to be able to get another one.
I would recommend this product to anyone that has hard to manage hair, and would like a fast fix.

I never write reviews but thought I needed to warn others. I have had two failed irons in less than 18 months. First one broke at about 9 months time. (would not turn on). I sent it back, paying for shipping, and was sent another iron free, except had to pay for shipping again. Next one broke in 6 months, same thing happened. wouldn't turn on. I might have been able to get another one, more shipping and handling but why bother. In the meanwhile, my daughter, a hairdresser, bought a CHI and has been working for over a year without any problems at all. And the CHI is much kinder to your hair, no frizz/broken hair. The Infrashine left me with a lot of broken hair. Maybe it's a good thing they don't work anymore. Buyer beware.

I ordered an Infrashine, but now I just heard a whole bunch of bad reviews about it. Does it actually dry out your hair? I heard that it is bad for your hair and unhealthy for your hair. I heard it makes your hair look really dry.. Is that true??????????????????????????????????

I have had a number of top-of-the-line straighteners, and this one is by far the best! It doesn't catch, break, or pull your hair. I highly recommend it to anyone!

I don't normally post reviews but had to for this because it's a wonderful product!! I don't like to spend too much time dealing with my hair in the morning. I have super curly hair and for days when I'd like a little control, I can quickly run the iron through and in one pass, my hair's straight--like magic! Additionally, the iron heats up *extremely* quickly which is particularly handy when I'm in a rush. Great product and highly recommended.
