This product was amazing when i first got it. I have semi-curly curly hair and i have always wanted my hair to straight but didnt want to damage. This product is great for my hair. I finish my hair in about 30-40 minutes, which is great for my hair.i would recommend a heat protector before you use this because lately i have noticed that my hair is getting a little damaged. It is great because you just run it through your hair like a brush and it dries and straightens with basically no damage. I woul definitely recommend this product. There does get to be build up in the product, but that happens with any product, even regular straightners. Mine broke once because the motor burned out, but conair replaced it, no questions asked. Do not use this if you have very thick long hair because the motor is small and won't be able to handle the heat and the amount of time you use it in one period.
Never liked this item, and it almost burnt my hair.

This product was useless for me. It dried my hair, but didn't make it pin straight like the box claimed. This takes more time than a blow drier and gets same/worse results. I have thickish hair, and my natural hair has a little wave to it. One day I was trying to mix it up and curl my hair in a little. My hair caught in the product and I smelled smoke. I unplugged it quickly and untangled my hair. My hair was okay, but now when I turn the product on I smell smoke. Oh well. Never was amazed by this product. Will not be purchasing another.
Not that great

I bought it and i was very excited to see what wonderful results it would have for me. However, i was SEVERELY DISSAPOINTED. It pulled my hair and damaged it. I could notice the damage after probably the second or third use. A ceramic straightener that i had bought for tons less at CVS worked much better for my wet hair and did not damage it as much.

Made my hair super dry, pulled it, it seemed ok if your hair was wet because it would dry it really fast but one day after having it for maybe 3 months it just died on me... waste of money!!
works great on short to chin length hair

I hair a stacked short in back and chin length on the sides style cut. My hair is very curly and this dries most of the curl out as it dries (use your other hand as you pull the dryer through your hair). Then after I only have to use a flat iron a little, so it still saves me time. I would buy one all over again.
I love it and it does not burn my hair.

I have fine frizzy hair so I have to staighten it before I can style it. Once I have my hair, to the roots, dry I am able to take this hair dryer and style my hair. I have had several brush hair dryers that would get so hot they would catch on fire while I was using them.
Good Straigthener, Easy to Use

I love the one-handed simplicity of this dryer and it does straighten well. I still use a flat iron as I like my naturally curly hair super-straight. Only downside is that it is only 700 watts. Wish it was more powerful to cut down on time. I wrote to Conair suggesting that they come out with a more powerful version but did not receive a response.
Had 4 of these die in a short time

I go between 2 homes. 1 brand new home , one older but completely rehabbed. Both homes in different states, built by different builders. So I purchased 2 of these hair dyers- one each home. Within months they both died. Bought 2 more - the same. I have bought everything from the cheapest crap to T3 and Super Solano and Chi and have never had this happen.
I do not spend long drying my hair either as it is pretty straight to begin with.
What's up with this? Crappy electrics inside?
I was just in Chile and bought the Rowenta's Lissima which is the same straightener and it is AWESOME but 220 volt.
its best

So I just got a medium haircut, a bit above my shoulder and because I have thick, wavy, unruly hair I had to get a straightener because my hair would just poof up. When it was long, it was heavy enough to weigh it all down. So I got this product because I needed straight hair in a short amount of time, and thats NOT what I got. Yeah it straightens hair, but not well. And it takes forever to dry, even at the highest setting. If you don't have a lot of time to spend on your hair , don't buy this. Its only good for final touches like fliping or adding volume to your hair. My hair is still poofy even after straightening it. Also it doesn't straighten the ends, you can either flip ends in or out, not good if you're trying to show off layers.

I took a chance and bought this product because of what is says it will do. I have shorter hair, and if you blow dry most of the wetness out before you use it, it works really well. It gives my roots more volume than without it. Overall, it may not straighten like it advertises, but still works pretty well for my hair. This is a good product and would recommend it for short hair. Gives great volume. You may still need use a straigtner on the ends however.
Great for curly hair

wrong about this product

A few days ago I wrote a review saying how awful this item was. Well, I was wrong. Very wrong. I had only used the product about three times and it kept making my hair frizzier. Then I started using Fructis Garniger leave in conditioner. My hair was straight and shiny, and since i have really thick, curly, frizzy hair, that was amazing. I now highly recommend this product.

this is an awesome straightner...if you want to go into business as a clown with a frizzy poofy curly afro. If you want to be able to go out in public without facepaint on, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!! I have mildly frizzy curly hair. All this "straightner" did was make it about five times frizzier. It would stay straight for about ten seconds then frizz and curl right back up again. I had seen all of these awesome reviews from people with curly or frizzy hair so I thought why not? Boy was i wrong. This isn't just a bad product. It is THE WORST "straightner". IF stores were smart, they would throw this "straightner" right off the shelves and replace it with something that does what it is meant to do...STRAIGHTEN HAIR!!!
P.S. i am NOT a clown
Pretty good!

While it really won't straighten your hair like it says it will, it does do a great job of drying! I love the volume it gives my hair! But it's a little thin, so I just use a regular hair dryer - but I ALWAYS use this to style my bangs! It works really good as far as that goes. It doesn't seem to damage it, and the volume and shine is a total bonus. And the volume isn't puffy at all. I just run a flat iron over it - and it's perfect =]
Bottom line - If it didn't claim to straighten hair too, it would be a 5 out of 5. I definatly would reccomend this to my friends [and I do because they all ask me how I make my bangs look so great]. Awesome!

I was skeptical about buying another tool that promised to dry as it straightened, but I am so happy I read the reviews and followed my hunch. I love this and it drastically cut down on my hair drying time and eliminated the step of curling after straightening. I have super thick hair that takes all day to dry, now it dries in less than 30 minutes. The price was great and it delivered. Good riddance to poofy hair.
not convincing to straight hair

i bought this at a local store here in Canada and well at first i bought to cut my straightening in half however, the drying and straigtheing using this tool is also as same as the time i used to consume so later in the afternoon i returned it----

I have shoulder length hair and this product does nothing but pull it out! It comes with several settings, but none of them work! It takes forever for my hair to dry. Terrible! It's faster to blow dry and then use a flat iron--and my hair looks better than way too.
Amazing!!

I have owned a flat iron for a year, but right around Christmas, the hinge messed up and would take forever to straighten. And a flat iron is way too hard for me to straighten all of my hair, since my hair is a few inches past the shoulder. When I got this and tried it, I was amazed!! It took me about 3 tries to get the hang of it, and now my hair comes out straight every time!! I absolutely love it!! And the best part is that I don't have to wait for my hair to dry to be able to straighten my hair!
