Simply put, it should not burn or smell like burning.
Now here's the longer answer. Is your Jilbere iron still new? Almost all electronics, especially those that heat up, will give off a faint plasticy-burning smell the first few times (even up to a dozen) they're used. That's normal.
If it's your hair that's burning, then the iron is too hot and/or you're using it incorrectly. You must keep the iron moving slowly at all times. Do not press and hold it on one section of hair for any amount of time.
So to answer your question, no, this iron should not smell beyond the normal 'new' period, but neither should the one you have. Hope this helps. |
