Alot of advice that people are leaving i dont agree with at all. I have used this tool too many times to count and if done correctly, it will not be frizzy, you won't look like medusa and it will be beautiful. I actually have naturally wavy hair but i either straighten it or really condition, product, scrunch and air dry it to make it curly. (i like the natural beachy wave look )But it doesnt always come out the way i want it to so i tried this tool and i love it!! the trick is to start with hair that is already smooth and straight. you dont want to gump it up with too much product and you want to make sure the hair is DRY when you start.(obviously i would recommend a thermal protector if your hair is damaged)i actually straighten my hair the day before or earlier in the day. when your ready to wave, start with small pieces and work from bottom of head toward part. i would take the other persons advice about waving around part. this is where you become in danger of looking crimped. take smaller pieces around the part and hold straight up. you dont want to take a long section because it will look artificial. Definately mist a hair spray over the finished section, but not too much and DONT play whith it too much! i like to shake it alittle at the end and piece out certain parts but that is it!! good luck!!

Yes, your hair will end up looking like a frizzy mess if you use it as a crimper. Instead, take a section of your hair and figure 8 it around the barrel. This is the correct way to get beachy waves instead of a frizzy mess!

Okay it's me agian. Ladies start with a curling shampoo and condtioner you know for curly hair. Then use srunching gel all over your hair then use a diffuser or reg blow dryer scrunch all your hair until dry. Then you might want to waite till your hair calms down or not it's up to you. Then separate your hair start from whre your hair is straight not at the crown or it will be puffy and unnatural do all your hair don't fluff or tease itor move untill you apply more gel by scrunching it. Then you pretty much done. It looks coll finish with shine spray to make it all shiny.

My cousin had bought one I sat and did her hair from top to botton she looked like Madusa. The reason was her hair had no product like gel or hairspray. And her hair way to short!!. You cant shake it or tease it just leave it alone. and don't do all your hair it will look funny.Start with wet hair then add mousse then blowdry and srunch your hair dry. then separate hair to thin piceces star from one side to the next try not to part it in the middle.dont do whole head.

Avoid the 'crimped' look around your part submitted by: Michelle, Tue Aug 30 2005

In order to avoid the crimped look around the part. Do the crown area in small parts, holding your hair (from both sides of the part) straight up. Whenever I did that area side-to-side, I would end up with a funky 70's disco look.
