I recently bought this curling iron because i wanted a REALLY good one that will heat up really fast and get the job well done. Not only do i LOVE the color when i received it, i also like how the handle of this curling iron is movable. It adjust to any angle when you curl your hair - making it easier when you hold it.
Also, the curling iron heats up so fast!!!!! within 1min, it should be hot enough. And unlike my other cheap Vsalon one, when you curl your hair with this one, they simply stay on forever. I have a lot of hair and my hair is also really long.. but i can finish doing my whole hair within 30 for a perfect job, and 15 if you just want to curl the bottom ones and fix your bangs.
I'd recommend anyone who wants a professional curling iron to get this one! i am going to get another straight iron from Folica.com too! :)

I've had this iron less than an hour and love it already. It curled my hair with ease. I have thick straight hair and set it on the 7 setting and it gave me nice goldilock curls. Heats up really quick and the iron itself is very light (compared to others I've owned). The only thing I don't like is the MASSIVE heavy duty swivel cord, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Shipping was fast and I also got a free pouch and round travel brush. I would definitely recommend this iron to anyone looking for a good curling iron. Thanks Folica!

I use this about once a week, and love it. I usually straighten my hair with my Sedu, then strategically curl my hair with this iron. It doesn't dry or fry my hair and the curl actually stays. In Houston humidity, that's a miracle - trust me. Anyway, I have thick frizzy hair and would definitly recommend this iron (I bought the 1.5")for anyone trying to get those pretty Eva Longoria curls. Good luck ladies! :)

I have naturally wavy/curly hair, so I got the 1" to better match the size of my "real" curls, and I couldn't be happier with the results of this iron. Even on medium hot, it only takes 5-7 seconds for the curls to set, and they last & last all day long, even though I ride my bike thru the Chicago wind! And, the curls are nice & shiny, too - I love it & would recommend this iron to anyone wanting fabulous natural looking curls.
Thanks Folica!

It was great for 6 months and now my hair started getting stuck where the paint is peeling off the barrel...you might as well spend another 50 dollars and get a good one..

Last year I purchased this curling iron for a friend, the 3/4" size. It worked great until it stopped working, which is to say it quit getting hot. Of course we never save our receipts, same with sending in the warranty card, didn't do it. In Dec 07 I purchased the 1" Iron for myself thinking that her's was just a 'lemon'....but after just 5 weeks mine quit heating up also. Again, no reciept, no warrenty information, my bad. I went on-line to see if I could speak directly with Hot Tools and there is no phone number associated with their web-site. So, the moral of the story.....send in the Warranty Card. I spent lots of money and now have nothing!!!!
Great curls that last

This is a really good curling iron. It heats up quickly and the handle is comfortable and a good size. The cord is a good length and the swivel really works so that it keeps itself out of the way while you twirl the barrel. I have medium-thick hair and I do not have to use the highest heat- so I imagine it would get hot enough for very thick hair. Depending on how much hair you put in each curl, you only have to set each curl 3-5 seconds and curls come out bouncy and shiny. With the 1" barrel, if you have a lot of time, you can get a gorgeous head of beauty-pageant curls. With less time, you can curl strategically to polish your look and add body. My hair does not historically hold curl well, but with a little gel and hair spray, the curls stayed all day on a recent non-humid day (I would not even bother on a humid day in the South, with ANY iron). I've only had it a couple weeks so I can't speak for its durability over time, but I'm very satisfied so far.

This is the best iron ever!!!! I have been through many man curling irons/rollers and this by far the best. It gets really hot which makes the curls come out instantly. You can set a few for a natural look or make tons of curls. I would highly recommend it.

I have the 1" one and was so surprised how long the curls last even though I don't put any hairspray or any type of setting spray. I was looking for a 1.5" barrel for a larger loose curls. But instead of sticking to the Hot Tools brand, I decided to give the Wigo digital a try. Oh what a mistake! The unit looks nice and expensive but the curls didn't even last a few hours. I thought maybe it's because of the large size barrel. So, I just gave up on the 1.5" curling irons for a while because I thought all 1.5" probably give the same result. Recently I decided to give the Hot Tools 1.5" a try and I am so happy with the purchase. Just like my 1" one, the curls last all day and night. I love how you can go to sleep, wake up and your hair still looks nice! For reference, my hair is a little bit above my waist, not too thick but not thin either.

I have really long hair and get bouncy long lasting curls everytime. I used it on my friend who claimed her hair couldn't hold a curl, she was wrong. The results where great. The Hot Tools curling iron did an awesome job on her thick straight hair. The next day she called me and told me her curls still looked good so she went to work with her hair as is (after she had slept on it) and received compliments. To sum it all up you will get a longer barrel (great for long hair), longer cord (very useful), And most importantly they get really hot and maintain the heat through out styling, thus cutting down on styling time.

well i cant complain about how it heats up cause its quick enough and gets pretty hot, no problems there, however i find the barrel is not ceramic just coated ceramic, which i cant see lasting for long (the coating that is) when i curl my hair with it and slide the curler through my hair it feels really rough and brittle, pulling at it, so there is no way its ok for the hair, as we all know all heat damages to a certain extent but it feels as though this particular one really does a number on my hair. All in all once im done my hair looks nice, it curls well but for what cost?? curly hair with split ends is it really worth the hassle? I dont think i would buy this prouct again, if you have fairly thin straight hair i can see it being okay, but anyone with natural curls with thick hair looking for a different curl i wouldnt recommend it to you as it seems to be really drying damaging and down right painful when you slide the barrel along the hair. Reasonably priced for what it is. Remember just cause it says its ceramic may just well mean its coated and for a cheapy price chances are thats excatly what it is... Good luck :)

I bought the 1.5 barrell curling iron a few months ago. Just yesterday I accidentally dropped it from my counter and the handle (black part where the cord is) broke!! it came apart!! This was the first time I have dropped it. I am very disappointed. I previously used a revlon curling iron ($15.00) that I happened to have dropped more than a few times and lasted 2 years with out coming apart!!!

This is a good curling iron. It heats quickly (wish it would get a bit hotter, though), the spring feels sufficient (it comes with replacement springs! - a first), and the cord remains straight and un-tangled. The product is as described.

I have very curly hair that tends to frizz in humid weather. I have tried many brands of curling irons and straightners inculding chi, solia,....this brand works just as well as the more expensive brands without paying the big bucks..........I highly recommend this brand in the ceramic......I have the 1-1/2 inch barrel and can use it to staighten and curl. Because the temperature can be very hot it is a good idea to use a leave in conditioner to protect the hair. My hair will hold well even in high humidity. I am very pleased....Thanks Folica for the great service and for carrying a great product.
