This straightener is awesome. It heats up fast and straightens my hair quickly. It takes me about 20 minutes to straighten my hair(thick hair) and the heat never decreases. The only problem I have with this straightener is that it smells, even after using it several times. My hair comes out very silky and shiney.
eh.

I HAVE HAD MY IRON FOR ALMOST 1 YEAR AND IT IS WONDERFUL. I DROPPED IT AND SOME PIECES BROKE OFF OF IT BUT STILL WORKS GREAT. I AM GETTING ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE THE PRICE IS GOOD AND I DON'T WANT MY HAIR TO GET STUCK IN THE BRKEN PIECES. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.I HAVE NATURALLY CURLY HAIR AND IT KEEPS MY HAIR STRAIGHT FOR A LONG TIME.
Sustained plenty of abuse and still lasted a while for a good price

I bought this straightener about 6 years ago from a beauty supply store for about $35. Lets just say it took a lot of abuse. It was used almost every day, and dropped on a ceramic tile bathroom floor probably hundreds of times. It only took so much because about a year ago it started acting up. It would work, then it would shut off in the middle of use, then I'd have to bang it around to turn it back on. Eventually about a month ago it stopped working indefinetly. I think for the price it ran a long life. Although it was a very good straightener when it came to styling and reliability, it wasn't too good to my hair. It caused a lot of splitting and thinning of my hair. Overall, even though it did a lot of damage, it proved reliable for some 5-6 years and gave me the straightest hair possible for a good price.
Works great!!!

I have never used a flat iron before, but this one was easy. I liked the adjustable heat setting and the heatproof pouch/mat. When used in accordance with the directions, my hair was smooth, flat, and shiney. This was a very good product for me.
Excellent

I have had this product for a year now and loved at first but then i droped it and the heating took longer and was very uneven. I used it and left it on for about 45 minutes and the top started to melt the sides crack and break over time.IThis product has also caused a lot of breakage in my hair even with use of heat resistent product that i was told to use so it would not damage my hai ( kms silker, this product is great). I also bout this product for $50.00 and it is not worth it. I guess at this price it is a better deal but watch out!
ok if you really want to know

this was 20 dollars when i bought it, which was three years ago. it still gets the job done. To be completely honest theres no special features like it won't harm your hair. IT WILL. i'm a swimmer so i have to straighten it every day which caused it to (my hair) split and thin but if you use it only every other day, its a good choice for your first straightener. All though its not perfect i almost find myself attached to it because its "loyal"
This works wonderfuly!!

THAT THIS FLAT IRON WAS INITIALLY PRICED AT $500 SOME YEARS AGO?? ITS TRUE!! WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AT THE PROFFESSIONAL HAIR TOOLS SHOWS. ANYWAYS A COUPLE YEARS AFTER THE INITIATION OF THIS TOOL I BOUGHT IT, IT WORKED WONDEFULLY FOR SOME TIME THEN SOON JUST DIDNT PERFORM TO THE RATINGS IT HAD RCVD WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT. I ALSO PAID $100 FOR IT BACK THEN IN 2004 SO THIS PRICE IS RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. ITS NOT THE BEST BUT FOR THAT PRICE YOULL GET UR MONEYS WORTH :)

This product is excellent. I am now able to straighten my curly hair without any problem or difficulty. In Canada, I was not able to find a product which straightened my hair properly. I took a trip to Miami, happened to purchase this flat iron and ever since I have been able to enjoy straight hair!!! I purchased a few more for friends and family (on folica.com) so that they could enjoy these results as well! I definitely recommend this to anyone with naturally curly hair.

I bought the Hot Tools flat iron, as a replacement to the $20 Conair one I first purchased. The Conair lasted me about 2 months (I use a flat iron everyday), whereas the Hot Tools lasted me about 5. If you used a flat iron rarely, only for small sections of your hair, or have fairly thin/straight hair to start with this one isn't bad. It does take alot longer, produce alot more damage and less smooth results than the more expensive brands. I bought a Rusk flat iron for about $180 to replace this one when it went out and although it is alot more money the results and the longer life have been well worth it.
Good Product

I have other hot tools products that I am pleased with and thought I'd try the flat iron, but it didn't do the job at all. I have thick coarse kinky hair and the flat iron virtually did nothing to straigten my hair. I ended up purchasing a chi which I like alot. If you want a quality flat iron bite the bullet and spend the extra money for a chi or sedu.
Great price for how hot it gets!

I bought this straightener about 5 years ago at a salon and my hairstylist used this one. I paid about $60 for it at the time. It still works very well and gets super hot! Keeps your hair straight in humid and rainy weather. (My hair is naturally fairly staight, to slight curl). This is a great flat iron for the price. I can' believe it costs so little now. Down side might be it can damage your hair due to the metal plates, plus side is it has 10 settings and it does not take long to heat up.
for thick hair, this is the one

I got my hair done at a salon where they straightened my hair with this straightener. My hair is very thick and wild. Within 20 minutes, my hair was perfectly straight and felt great. If you are looking for a straightener to also make your hair feel thinner, go with hot tools.
