My hair gets stuck on the sides of the metal plates and it pulls it out. The cord is really kinked because of wrapping it up for storage. The plates don't seem to glide smoothly or give you a tight grip when you are using it.
Excellent job!

This is the first flat iron I've ever bought, and fully expected it to make an unholy mess of my frizzy, babyfine, wavy hair. I have been using it several times a week for the last eight months without putting any products in my hair. The different heat settings allowed me to adjust the iron to the temperature that worked best on my hair without frying it. Three weeks ago, I got my hair cut and my hair stylist was amazed that I use a flat iron so often yet had no damage to my hair. This iron has the cheapest price with the best results. I'd highly recommend it.
pretty awesome

As I'm trying to grow my hair out, I want it to be as smooth, straight, and sleek as possible. Since I already have straight hair with a few kinks here and there, I don't need a fancy, super expensive flat-iron. After reading all the reviews (I'm very cautious when buying new things) I decided this was the one. And I was right! I love it. It only takes me about 5 minutes to make my hair sleek and straight and it adds shine as a bonus. It heats up quickly and stays hot throughout my hair. And as another bonus, it makes my hair so touchably soft and pretty. I can't stop running my fingers through it. I'm sure it will straighten those with wavy or slightly curly hair as well, but if you want to completely straighten and smooth your straight hair, this is a great product at an even greater price.

I have been using this straightener for over 11 years and it still works great!! A piece of plastic just broke off of the case and it still works but I decided to search for the straigtener online to see what I could come up with. Only $15.99?!?! I am buying two!! One for me and one for my sister!!
I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this straightener!!
Great product

I bought this hair straightener for my daughter when I read all the good reviews about it, and I have to agree and write my own. My daughter, who is 13 and very particular and demanding about her hair, was hard to convince to use it since she wanted a really expensive straightener that her friends had convinced her to buy. But I told her, "lets try this one, because it has so many good reviews." I said to her, that if this one would not work well, that I would buy her the more expensive one (all this time I'm trying to save myself some money). Well, I have not had to buy her the more expensive ceramic one we saw at the Tallahassee mall. She is really happy with this one. It straightens her hair fast, and it stays straight all day, not like the others that we have boughtat Wal-Mart and that are better known brands (we have a collection of hair straighteners). I don't have any photos to share, but believe, me, it works.

i used to have really shiny, strong and healthy hair. I got this straightener as a present and YES it does wonders to straighten out kinks and smoothen frizz. BUT BEWARE: after i used this straightener for 5 months (i used it about every other day)my hair slowly but surely became completely dry and damaged. It became so damaged to the point that i had to cut it all off. Even though I love my new bob hairstyle, it would have been nice to keep my long hair.

I have had mine for 4 years and it still works great. I hear the CHI really has quality issues breaking every six months or so. This one was excellent good value for the money and I bought if for $80 bucks in Canada and even at that price it was worth it. My hair is still silky smooth, no damage.

Do not buy this flat iron.. it literally burns your hair because the metal heats up too much. You should just invest the extra $60+ dollars extra and get a good one that will last longer & not fall apart or damage your hair. =/
An okay Item.

I love this straigtner, But I have to admit, When I get my CHI back, I will probably never use it again. But, It does make my hair look very nice. It snags pretty badly. But its okay. It usualy NEVER stays straight because of the humidity in Texas. But if I was staying inside, It should be okay. But I sure do love my CHI MUCH better.
Very Good Straightener!

I've had this straightener for 3 years, and still works great. I'm buying another one because it's starting to wear from travel and using it almost everyday. I highly recommend it, when I bought it, it was $50 and well worth it, I'm here to buy my second one after three years and I'm very excited. :) Aside from that I went to top notch stylists and they used the same one because they said they liked it the best.
Just average...

I bought this iron before I bought the Babyliss and I much prefer the smaller Babyliss to this one. The Hot Tools iron starts to have that "burnt metal" smell to it after a while. I found that even using little product in my hair, my hair began to smell burnt. I don't use this iron unless I have to.

I have been through soooooo many different flat irons expensive and cheap ones and this is by far the best flat iron I have ever used! It keeps your hair from curling up all day long! My hair stays straight until I wash it the next day. I would reccomend this iron to everyone!

I've tried numerous irons in the past and nothing worked for my thick frizzy hair. Then my friend turned me onto the Hot Tools Iron through Folica.com, and it was the best thing that ever happened to my hair. Normally I would pay $50.00 at a salon to get that straigt look, but now i don't have to spend anything and get that great look at home. I recommend this iron to everyone, and what a great price.

I had this hiar iron for 4 years, and it came to my rescue every time I used it. It never weakened nor chipped. It ALWAYS gave me the heat I needed. It finally died today, and I am about to buy my second one. I love this iron!!!!

If you dont have the money to spend on a better straightener, buy this one.. i have very very thick, frizzy/curly hair and as long as you blow dry your hair/put serum in before using, i will work okay. It took me about 40 mins to straighten mine, but after about 6 months it will start to not work as well..
ive been using straightening irons for at least 8 yrs now, and ive finally come to the realization that buying a GOOD straightener (like the sedu that i have now), it will save you the hassel of buying crappy okay straighteners every 5-6 months. p.s.. because it isnt ceramic, this straightenr DID DAMAGE my hair..
Great purchase

I bought this same flat iron about 6 years ago and it worked perfectly until it broke a few weeks ago--I couldn't believe it last that long! I have heard about how great the ceramic flat irons are but this one worked so well for me, I just wanted to stick with it. I got it for so cheap plus it came with a pouch to stick the flat iron in AND the CUTEST pink bag!! I plan on using the bag for my carry-on during my upcoming vacation! The bag was an extra surpise, thank you!
