Product Rating: 5 GREAT!!!
Reviewer: Kendralyse from MN  Mon Jun 13 2005

I REALLY liked my straightener! I have naturally curly/ kinky hair. It worked GREAT! I used it everyday and it didnt dry out my hair or damage it! My hairstylist even told me i have very healthy hair! I Bought it september 8, 2003 and quit working around june 5, 2005 it may have quit working b/c it was dropped on the floor a few times by my careless sister!! I am going to buy myself another straightener. And im thinking this will be the one!

I don't have very curly hair, but it's wavy. This product is great and works well. It doesn't dry my hair out, and although I was told by my stylist not to use it every day, I do because it never seems to do any damage to my hair. This is a great product, and I recommend it to anyone!

Anything Hot Tools works amazing on medium or short hair, especially this model and the mini straightener, i have really thick hair and i used to mini and it worked great and so does this one.

Product Rating: 3 need a reallly cheap, good straightner? pick this one
Reviewer: karen from vancouver  Wed May 25 2005

bought this when everybody was talking about it. back then it was $50, now it's much cheaper!! for the price, it works extremely well. i have really curly hair and it worked great! but the biggest problem is that it takes a really long time to use!! you have to section out your hair and go over it a few times. but doesn't pull out hair, which is good. takes awhile to heat up, so for it to even work properly, plug it in for at least 5-10mins and set it on the highest setting. if you do a low setting it won't work. if you need a straightner and can't invest in one worth a lot of money, go for this one!

Product Rating: 5 Awesome product

I started using this product at the recommendation of my hair stylist 4 years ago. It literally changed my life. As someone with curly, thick hair who always blew it out straight, I would watch it frizz and kink up all the time. When I use this flat iron, frizz simply does not happen. My hair ALWAYS stays straight and in control. I give this out for birthday gifts, and my friends have similiar experiences. The only drawback is that the iron seems to break down after about 18 months. It is so cheap, though, that it is still a bargain.

My Hot Tools flat iron is working great. I particularly like the heavy duty cord on this appliance. A tip to the user.....when finished using this flat iron DON'T wrap the cord. Let it hang loose. Wrapping the cord just weakens the coils of wire inside. I've had no problems with this product and the service I received was prompt and courteous. I will do business with this company again!

This hair straightener works well w/ a blowdryer, but when you try to just striaghten it, it leaves you with a damadged look.

This iron doesn't get hot enough, pulls, breaks, and leaves me with severely damaged locks. Piece of CRAP.

Product Rating: 2 it left me with SPLIT ENDS!
Reviewer: Sabrina from Houston, Tx.  Mon May 02 2005

Well, I would have to say that at first this straightner worked GREAT!. . But then as a couple of weeks progressed, I noticed that it left me with a ton of split ends. I mean yea it's cheap and all. . but it's not worth it. Really because after a couple of months it stopped heating up. So no I do not recommend this to anyone who is looking to buy a hair-straightner. I also DO NOT recommend CON-AIR or REVLON straightners because they were just the same, STOPPED HEATING!

Product Rating: 2 Damages Easily
Reviewer: Mandy from Houston, Texas  Mon Apr 25 2005

I would definately not recomend this straightner if you have thin or fine hair because I do, and it damaged my hair after only a few times of using it. It also gave me lots of split ends. :(

For $29.94 total, I was able to have the Hot Tools Professional Flat Iron delivered to my home, and I was thrilled. I usually buy it from my hair stylist for twice the price, so, as you can imagine, I was happy to find this exact model online. It's works great. :)

Product Rating: 2 eh not so great
Reviewer: Whitney from Oregon  Mon Apr 18 2005

the hot tools straightner works well, but defiently not as good as other straightners such as the brand CHI. I recommend it to all people who have really curly hair or textured hair. This hot tools straightner causes lots of split ends if you don't properly take care of your hair. yes it is a great money saver but buy something that you think you'll use for a really long time and has great quality. hot tools isn't the best

Product Rating: 2 plate problems...
Reviewer: H.A.   Sat Apr 16 2005

Well, this was my first "GOOD" straightener that I bought... it's definitely way better than the conair ones I've had... however, not just me, but a lot of my friends and family that have bought this same straightener have had this problem- the plates stop warming up after a certain amount of months... I'd say after about 6 months. I ended up buying another one... same thing happened... then another one... same thing happened... then I just bought a different brand. I bought the white revlon flat iron with 20 heat settings, and it works just as well, but lasts a lot longer.

Product Rating: 5 THE BEST!
Reviewer: Ayanna   Sat Apr 09 2005

If it can straighten MY hair it's good with me! This is the only flat iron that makes my hair striaght enough that people think I have a perm! My hair is natural so it's hard to get it to that point.

Product Rating: 3 works pretty wel...
Reviewer: Sasha from Austin!!!!!!!  Tue Apr 05 2005

this straightner works pretty well i acutaully got it from someone and i was just boroing bc my conair *PEICE OF JUNK* straightner broke the night before and i had a contest for choir that day so i needed decent hair...so i kept forgetting to give it back so they just let me have it and im really not sure how long they had it before me or how often it was used but it still works semi well...a peice broke off and it gives me TERRIBLE split ends but it keeps my hair straight thru a little bit of humidity...and living in austin there is a lot of humidity so yeah...its alright and im getting a new one soon hopfully a Sedu or a HAI...

Product Rating: 5 Great flat iron - great price
Reviewer: KBB from Washington  Mon Apr 04 2005

I've been using this flat iron for years and can't live without it! My hair is naturally thick, course, colored and curly/frizzy and i live in a rainy/misty city. My hair dresser also uses this - she's Jamaican and is an expert on hard-to-straighten hair. The salon has many high-end ceramic irons but this is the one she always turns to because of the high heat and ability to straighten really course, curly hair. As someone mentioned, you should use a leave-in conditioner (but with my hair I need one regardless) This iron has worked incredibly well, and i've never had problems with it not working. The one i currently have is over 2 years old - probably closer to 3 and works like the day I bought it. I do take good care of it so as another reviewer mentioned, perhaps that's some cause to the short shelf life for others? Regardless, you can't go wrong with this product and the price is unbelievable!

Product Rating: 5 Girl's Best Friend When it Comes to Hair!
Reviewer: Shaquinta from Honolulu, Hawaii  Sat Apr 02 2005

My roommate has this incredible flat iron and I use it all the time! We both have thick curly hair that other flat irons can't handle. If you need something to straighten your hair so that it is silky smooth this is the perfect thing. This flat iron, unlike many that I have used, will not leave your hair frizzy and half wavey. This flat iron is the best thing ever! Can't live without it!

Product Rating: 2 Works Good for 3 mths
Reviewer: Rosy from houston  Mon Mar 28 2005

today when i plugged mine it didn't light up when it says on or no heat comes from the plates so i guess it has broke well it causes alot of nasty split ends and works ok but there are better ones out there
