Not bad

Great product if you want stick straight hair, which I do. The only complaint is that the corners snagged my hair a little. Other than that, it is the perfect straight iron. I am really impressed with Folica however. They get 5 stars.
I can't live without it!

I have been using this iron for years. I have thick, semi frizzy hair. I use the iron after I blowdry my hair. It takes out the frizz and keeps my hair from looking too bulcky. I always get compliments on my hair. The best part about it is that I only have to replace it once a year.

I have had this flat iron before and I loved it. After many years of use it broke and when I went to get a new one they said they no longer carried this model and that ceramic is what it's all about. I guess it's supposed to be better for your hair but the one I bought doesn't even work. I love this flat iron and wouldn't buy a different one again.
Amazing for the first month

I am now on my 5th Hot Tools straightner in 3 years, and I now have to buy another one. I have had two different kinds of hot tools straightners and they were both the same. They work great at first, but after a few months they don't work as well.
if you want straight hair...

this is a pretty good straightner. it heats up fast and i find my hair much straighter. i've usually used straightners from target or walmart, but this one i reccommend if you want a step up from those straightners. the only thing i do not like about this straightner is that it snags hair on the ends (at least mine because it is long).

I bought this iron just by chance three ( maybe four?) years ago. Since then I have absolutely abused the sh** out of this thing, dropped it, stepped on it, spilt water on it, you name it ive done it, and still, this many years later my iron still kicks serious ass, Better working and way cheaper than most over rated salon straighteners out there. I recently cut my hair off and am going to invest in one of the thin ones....hmm I love my hot tools.

Whether to get this straightner depends. It straightens SO much better then conair. I have pretty curly/ thick hair and it usually takes about a little less than an hour every morning. I've had it for a year or two. The problem though, is its burning my hair, im losing tips, my hair has thinned out alot, and it dries it out. Don't get me wrong, my hair looks great when I walk out the door, but my hair is in such bad condition because of it and it tends to frizz and curl again a few hours later, it barely makes it through the school day. My sister and I both have one. Although they break easily. So I'm on my second and she left for college and it recently broke. She replaced it with the hot tools 3 inch CERAMIC straightner, and says it helps her hair so much and faster. I'm leaving tomorrow to get one. They're 60$ + which is definetly not as cheap as this one (you shouldnt be paying over 30$ for this one). So I'm kind of mixed. I guess this is ok for a year or so, but afterwards switch. It will make all the difference.
Do not buy this!

This is the worst flat iron I have ever used. It dries my hair out and makes it frizzy and crispy because I have to go over the same section 4 or 5 times. But worse then that it does not get my hair very straight-- it is not any better than my hair dryer and a round brush. I just bought the Solia-- but it hasn't come yet. Hopefully it will work better than this!

I love my Hot Tools Flat Iron. My roommates both had one and when we all moved out I HAD to have one. It heats up so fast and straightens your hair most of the time in one stroke. It takes a lot of the frizzieness down to 'barely there'. My roommates and I are fasinated by this flat iron.

i first bought this straightner 3 years ago. i absolutly LOVED it cuz it was recommended to me by EVERYONE and it did wonders to my hair! i ended up buying 3 within a year before i found one that didnt break. and later i starting getting the worst split ends and the most unhealthy hair ever! my hairdresser was very concerned and she gave me nothing but critizism of how bad my hair was.
but appearance wise, this is a pretty good straightner, but its defintely not good for your hair.
ive been wearing my hair up all the time cuz it takes a while to straighten my hair and it always gets boiling hot in my room from this thing. however i would defintely suggest a sedu! its a little pricey but it is awesome!!!

this straightener straightens ok but the thing is that once you get it it stinks up the entire room while heating it up. It also breaks like ALL the time! I had to go get like so many replacements but i will tell you now the whatever you do DO NOT try the imitation of this in revlon it is HORRIBLE!!!! I'm getting a Solia soon because i need a better straightener because my hair gets very frizzy easily. So i would recomend this to anyone who is looking to a cheap and affordable option and doesn't mind going back every so often to get replacements even though it costs very little like 25 or 26 dollars!
HORRIBLE

My sister had a Hot Tools flat Iron that she left home when she went to college. It wasn't even taken out of the package! So I decided that I might try it out. Not only did one of the plates burn out after 1 WEEK, it didn't even work anyway! I didn't straighten my hair night and day, only once every other day. I have wavy thick hair that can take almost FOR EVER to style! I am ordering a sedu now. Hopefully it will work!
excellent flat iron

my hair is very coarse and thick. it is naturally curly and very healthy.
my husband bought me this flatiron 4 years ago for $150, and it has been awesome. i have had absolutely NO problems with it. i have dropped it about 3-4 times, i wrap the cord, and i use product before and after;its awesome. i will say, from dropping it, recently, the plastic piece way at the top seperated from iron itself, but i push it back together, and it works just like it was brand new. no snagging, very smooth...but, since we paid $150, i cannot guarentee that this same flatiron for $25 is the same quality. plus mine is alot older. i only flatiron 2-3/week. you DO NOT need to wash your hair EVERY DAY!!! this will save on hair damage. talk to your stylist. she/he will know what is good out there. its their job. :)
Works great for the price!!!

I am a college student, and although I would love to shell out money for a high end straightener, it's just not possible. I have used this straightener for 5 years now and although they burn out after about 2 or so years, for 24.99, hell, I'll take it. The gold plates aren't the healthiest for your hair, but if you use a product to protect your hair from the heat, it'll be fine. I get comments on how beautiful my hair is, and I have straightened it almost every other day for 5 years, so it's not THAT damaging. Great product for the money!!!!!!!
I love it!!!

This straightening iron gets far to hot. About a month after I began to use it my iron began to melt itself. The plates got to such a tempurature that the plastic surrounding them began to melt. Everytime I would straighten the center of the plastic surrounding the plates would turn into melted plastic mush. I relized it was probably too dangerous to continue using, so I just discontinued used of this iron. I would really not recomend this to anyone. I purchased it for 70.00 in Canada and this is money i will never get back.
