So So...

My hair is extremely course & very curly. This iron did a decent job the first couple time I used it, but then it just got worse and worse. It absolutly FRIED my hair, creating more split ends than imaginable. I would reccomend making a larger investment in something a little better.
not worth your money

when i use this hot tools straightener i feel as if i am truly ruining my hair. after my ceramic iron broke, i decided to use my old hot tools until i bought a replacement and found that there is no comparison. It takes a long time to straighten my hair and causes an unbelievable amount of split ends. In about 1 hour my hair becomes wavy again and by the end of the day its a hopeless cause to call my hair stright. please realize this straightener is not worth it!!!
Every Woman Should Have One

After hearing my sister-in-law rave about this flat iron and seeing the results, I rushed to purchase one for myself. And I've been recommending it to every woman I know. It's perfect! It does the job well every time and works on curly or straight hair, dry or wet hair. The results are amazing. I can skip my weekly hair salon blow outs now.

I have had this product for 3 years and finally I am breaking down to buy a new one. After dropping it many times it seems to stand the test of time, however A piece is loose and that is why I am buying another. I bought this iron from a friend who is a hair stylist and recommended it. I have not been able to straighten my hair as well with any other iron but this one.

Your choice: Damaged Hair/Buying Sedu!

When I first got this straightner, I LOVED IT! It was the best one I bought. After a while I started getting so many split ends, even after only a few uses. My sister was also using this straightner, and her hair too, had lots of split ends because of this straightner. After 2 months, it stopped heating up as well. It does straighten your hair pretty good (when it does heat up) but I dont think its worth the damage it will cause your hair.
I recently bought Sedu and I like it very much.
maybe best for thin, already fairly straght hair

when i first got this it probably took me an hour to completely straighten my thick, just below the shoulder length, hair. after a month of having it, i have to go over each piece 6 or 7 times, and it doesnt stay hot very long. if you step outside it will frizz up in about 10 minutes, and even staying inside it only stays straight for about an hour or two before starting to poof and get wavy. maybe it would work for people with short, thin hair, who just wanted to touch up minor flaws. for just $40 more i got the Solia which i love and would highly reccomend over this one.
Better of the low-end flat irons

My hair type: thin, baby fine, African-American hair. Shoulder-length.
I've had two Gold n' Hot flat irons and a Hot Tools flat iron.
I bought a Hot Tools iron after using my roommates one time. I was ironing my hair with the Gold n' Hot iron for almost an hour and a half. It wouldn't stay hot and I had to repeatedly go over my hair to get it straight. Considering how fine my hair was, it shouldn't hae taken that long to get it straight. So, my roommate let me borrow her Hot Tools flat iron. I definitely liked it a lot more than the Gold n Hot one.
Hot Tools got hot and straightened my hair a deal. It took maybe 45 minutes to do my hair. It also takes abuse well. It's slipped off my sink many times and it still works. The downside is that it snagged my hair a lot. My hair also frizzes up after a few hours. To keep it straight, I would have to use this iron every other day. My hair couldn't take the damage. So, I just went to the salon every other week instead. It might be time for another iron.
AWSOME!!!!!

i have had this straightener for a little more than a yr. and it is just like all my other ones, yeah it is worth the money, and it is the one that has lasted the longest, BUT it sucks, my hair only stays stright for 1-2 hours, than it looks like CRAP and it FRYS my hair up really bad!!!!accuially this is the only strightener that i have owned (one of the MANY)that has FRYED my hair, and i dont even strighten my hair every day, my be 1 a week at the most!!!!!

I've had the Hot Tools Iron for about a year...the first month or two it was great...but not having a flat iron with ceramic plates takes a toll on your hair.
I have extremely wavy hair and used the flat iron 1-2 times a week....my hair was never dry or broke easily....now it's dry, with broken ends from using this flat iron
buy a higher end one...saving money and opting for a cheap flat iron wasn't worth the damage it did to my hair!

This is the worst flat iron I have ever owned...I actually bought three of them, and they all broke within 3-4 months. Worthless...totally not worth $25!!!!! And...it made my hair look horrible. DONT GIVE IT A CHANCE! It is true, you pay for what you get.
great iron!

I love my Hot Tools, I have been using it for about 4 or 5 years now, and it's finally at the point of breaking. It makes my normally thick and wavey hair very straight. I have used an expensive straightener, and a cheaper straightener in addition to this one, and this one works better than the cheap one and almost as well as the expensive imported from Italy one. Definitely a great deal.
its amazing

My hair isn't very curly but with the flat iron that i bought a while ago it dident work that well, and it took forever to get strate. It broke easly and cost over $100. when that broke i bought this flat iron and now i can straten my hair in about 20 mins and its not frizzy at all and i dont even have thick hair!

I used Hot Tools for 5 years. I have very curly thick hair. For the price, this is by far the best straightener. The only downside is that they tend to break. I bought three in the five years I used this brand. It does come with a warranty, so remember to hold onto it. When mine broke this last time, I decided to try something new, and bought the Sedu. It's great and adds more shine than the Hot Tools.
But if you are looking for something cheaper than $125, then I strongly reccomend Hot Tools.
