i got this straightener for christmas. my hair is really curly and really fine and it is extremely humid where i live which makes my hair frizz really badly. it will make it smooth, but damages my hair so much, even if i put expensive products on it. its also really cheap. i dropped it on the counter and it cracked. it works fine on my friends who have wavy, short hair. i hope this helps.

I have naturally wavy, frizzy hair and I had tried so many things and nothing worked. My friend had one of these and I used it....my hair was straight as a pin. Needless to say I ended up buying one and I've had it for a couple years now....it will straighten your hair, sure, but if you are like me and need to use it everyday... It does some damage. My hair gets caught in it often, but it never seems to fail me. Bottom line- It's great if you can't afford a more expensive one.
Great Product

I bought this iron for my 13yr. old daughter, cause she loves to straighten her hair. I got it for an AWESOME price and it works wonderful for her thick hair. Took me 20 minutes Max to straighten it!! I looked at those expensive irons and decided to try this, as my hair dresser recommended it.
good..

my hot tools successfully straightened my hair and made it soft and smooth but my hair often gets caught behind the plates. also, it leaves a funny burning smell in your hair. its a great value and i've had a positive experience with my hot tools but you might want to check out other brands as well.
Not very good

I got one for christmas last year and i have been using it ever since. It's alittle damaging but ive seen far worse. I have very thick wavy hair that no matter what i do it poofs and frizzes. When i do my hair with this it works great for about an hour. Then it starts waving again. Even if it isnt humid it frizzes. if your looking for a cheap one and you dont have very frizzy hair im sure it will work fine but if your like me i reccomend buying one of the better (sadly more expensive) ones.
depends what your looking for

This iron does the job, but if you plan on ironing your hair often, you're better off saving up some money and buying a more expensive but better quality ceramic one. If you're just looking for a cheap iron, this makes your hair look sleek and nice but if you're going to iron your hair all the time, it'll give you A LOT of split ends. I have very thick hair and never had split ends. All of a sudden I'm picking split ends through all of my classes. Honestly, the reason I'm on this website is to order a sedu iron. I suggest the same.
very dissapiointed

I have had over 6 of these iron. My first one lasted over 1 year and the last 5 have not lasted longer than 5 months. All of them have suddenly stopped working and the one i currently have flickers and doesn't get as hot anymore. It has broken, and damaged my hair and i have so many split ends. DEFINTELY NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!

this is the best straight iron i ever had. I had many, this one makes my hair so soft smooth ands shine to my hair.this is a inexpencive one and it is awsome.the only thing it kinda pulls my hair but for that not to happen you have to hold your hair at the bottem and donot put to much hair at one time.it makes my hair look pin straight.i am looking foward to buying the curling irons, i get so many compliments
Meh, pretty bad.

Well i got this, and it damaged my hair majorily. Its defiantly not for every day use. The plates also started to Tarnish. It made me have little white pieces at the end of my hair, which meant when i used it i had to go to the hairdresser and get the ends cut every so often. I gave this one away and got a babybliss it works much better.
Works Great-- Lasted a long time

A friend bought this for me about three years ago, and I've loved it! I have VERY thick and coarse hair, which is hard to straighten. It got very hot and did the job well. Finally, after three years of off and on daily use the plastic around the plates got brittle and broke off. I've heard a lot about the ceramic plate flat irons and am wondering how much better they can work. The one thing I didn't like was that sometimes my hair would catch on the plates and snag.

I have had many hair straighteners, my hair is extra curly and I have so much hair it takes me about an hour to get it straight. Hot tools did work, but by the end it pulled out a lot of my hair. It also didn't last very long, I had to buy a new one after only using it for about a few months. This hair straightener wasn't awful, but if you are going to buy one, go with one that is ceramic or tourmaline. I got a new Vidal Sasson Cermaic hair straightener and it works so much better. My hair doesn't get pulled out and it makes my hair so much smoother and much straighter. It also didn't cost that much. But hot tools is definately not the way to go.
not so good

My hair is curly and fairly dry, and after using a $20 drugstore iron i went for this one. while it worked somewhat better, it still left my hair dry and splitting.
also, if it was a rainy day, my hair would become a puffy straight with some waves. after having it about a year or so, it has started squeaking and if the cord bends one way, it flickers on and off and then all the way off.
Love it

I've owned this straigtener for at least 3 years. I absolutely love it. I have very thick, curly hair and this iron gives me perfectly straight locks. I've tried many straigteners in the past and this is by far the best. I'm getting ready to buy another one just to have in case anything happens to mine. For all of those who complain about frizz, thats just what happens with certain hair types. I suggest going to your local salon and buying e.textureline hot style ironing creme. Its about 13.00 a bottle but well worth it. Put it in your hair, use your straightener and you have straight hair with some body to it.

I used this one and I have very fried out hair and alot of split ends. My hair is fairly thick, and curly and by the time I get to school my hair is already starting to frizz up. I am getting a knew one this Christmas, the 10 heat settings are great but I'm not happy with the results from this hot-iron.
Works Great !

I love this hot iron! I have tried so many (even the expensive over hyped Chi Hot Iron) and nothing straightens my hair as well as this one. I have VERY thick hair and it takes about an hour to straighten because I have to put about an inch at a time in the iron. It doesn't damage my hair and it keeps it straight for 2 days (w/ some minor touch ups needed). For those complaining it damages your hair, these hot irons shouldn't be used on a daily basis. And if your hair begins to frizz or curl up, try ironing your hair in smaller, thinner portions.
the best straitener ever...!!

this "straitener" is truly one of the best made. i have been using it for over 3 years and i have to buy i knew one because i lent it to a friend that left it on a plastic bag that it melted... i therefore need to buy a new one. i have medium curly hair, and it takes me a little bit over half an hour to use and my hair stays "stick strait" for as long as i want. i would recomend this to you to use it is cheap and VERY affective!
Dissappointed

When i first bought this iron i was so in love with it, i actually bought all my friends ones. After about 9 months it just stopped working (it wouldnt heat up) so i went out and brought another one and it stopped working after only 5 months and totally fried my hair. i actually ended up cutting off most of my hair to relieve the damage. So this iron is great at first but then you just get what you pay for!

My hair is extremely course & very curly. This iron did a decent job the first couple time I used it, but then it just got worse and worse. It absolutly FRIED my hair, creating more split ends than imaginable. I would reccomend making a larger investment in something a little better.
