3/4 & 1 1/4

i absolutely loove the 3/4" iron; it keeps my hair curled all day long. However the 1 1/4 iron didn't curl my hair as well as the 3/4 one because after a couple of minutes (30 min) the curls would fall flat. Yes i understand the curls will be looser with a bigger iron, but i didnt know that it would practically become straight. the 3/4 & the 1 inch are my favorite for my medium long hair. [the marcel and spring both do a good job but the spring is much easier to use on yourself and the marcel is better to use on someone else]
Well designed

This curling iron has been designed with thought for the consumers needs. 1) The cord end is on a working swivel that allows you to roll the iron with out creating kinks in the wire. This swivel really works well, not like some others I have experienced, that look like they will work, but do not function to a high level.
2) The thermostat is easy to read and use, and seems to actual get hotter when you turn it up and lower when you turn it down. Some irons I have used are so hot at even the lowest setting, that I fear I may damage my hair. 3) the clip that holds the hair as you wind it, has enough attention on it to hold the hair properly. Some irons allow the hair to easily slip out from under the arm. Additional springs are included in the box to replace the original as use lessens its tension. All in all, I feel that this is a thoughtfully designed, useful tool, and not a capitalist plot to simply look good enough to bring in a quick dollar for the manufacturer. Thank you!
Best!!!

This is one of the best curling iron I have ever used. I am very pleased with this product in fact I've recommended it to several friends & they are happy with this curing iron.
If you are not happy with this curling iron you probably don't know how to use it.
No need to go to the hair salon when you can do it yourself!
By the use rubbing alcohol to clean the barrel when it's hot. It works for me...
Thanks,

Hot Tools 1 1/4 Spring Curling Iron

I just received my Hot Tools 1 1/4" Spring Curling Iron, I decided to tested it out on my thick, full, wild/unruly hair...wow! I'm amazed by the results 1. because I finally have the vintage style red carpet waves I've always wanted (not very many and curling method take shape to my hair) 2. because I thought for sure that I would have to blow dry my hair straight (usually taking 45 min.) before using a curling iron... timing is everything!
My hair is just a little longer then shoulder length and the 1 1/4" was the perfect size to achieve big waves from top to bottom.
The only reason I give it 4 stars is because Hot Tools usually ends up dying on me in one year, but at this price, i can buy another.
Thank you Folica for all the easy, useful information you provided.
WORKS GREAT BUT!...

THEY SUPPLY YOU WITH EXTRA SPRINGS FOR A REASON. THEY DON'T LAST! SPRINGS GET LOOSE QUICKLY AND THE HAIR SLIDES THROUGH THE BARREL! NO GRIPPING! FRUSTRATING! IT'S NOT EASY TO INSTALL THE SPRINGS...BUT IT IS A NICE ADDED FEATURE....BUT AGAIN...THERE IS A REASON!
ITS GREAT! 2 inch.

The reason I purchased this Hot Tools Curling Iron is because the first one I purchased was only a 5/8 barrel and I didn't like it because it made my curls too tight. However, I love the 1/2 inch barrel. Unfortunately, it shorted out so I had to take the parts from the 5/8 inch barrel curling iron to fix it. I love the curling iron -- it heats up fast and works great!
The perfect product

I need a very small curling iron for my fine hair and this one works so much better than any other curling iron I've tried that I would highly recommend it in any size. It curls so much faster and tighter than the others and is very durable. This is my second purchase of the same item. I literally wore the other one out, but it lasted and worked perfectly for years. The price is very reasonable for the excellent quality and durability.

I bought the 5/8 inch -- a size I had searched for in many stores. So far, I am very pleased. It heats rapidly, has good choices of heat ranges, and handles very nicely. It was exactly what I was looking for!

I have every size possible of these curling irons. They are so dependable and they get very hot, which I like.
My hair is short/medium layered, so I can go VERY curly (with the smallest iron), or soft curly, or big and full, or even straight (I have figured out how to use the iron to flatten out a curl). I LOVE these tools and couldn't exist without them!
1" Barrel Curling Iron Curls My Hair

I purchased the 1" barrel curling iron and so far I am please. It is ergonomically well-designed and gets very hot. I have fine, straight hair that does not hold curl, but with this iron I had curly hair through a dance performance and even the next morning.
It gets HOT

Wow, finally an iron that actually works. I have the 1" barrel iron, and it makes really gorgeous full curls.
This thing gets SO HOT though, so watch out! I've already burned my forhead and my ear (I'm a curling iron newbie) and MAN did it leave a mark. My hair is really fine so I only had it on setting 2-3 (it goes up to 10!!!) so I can only imagine how that sucker would burn you if you had it on a higher setting.
Bottom line--great iron, heats up in less than 10 seconds, and I just love it.
Curls Asian Hair!!

I have straight, thin, silky asian hair, which is typically difficult to keep curled. The high heat setting allows me to curl my hair quickly and it stays all day. I can even sleep and wake the next day and not do a thing. I bought (3) 2" curling irons 5 years ago for $100.00 each for myself, sister, and daughter. I've just bought the 5/8" and 1", and now I'm going to buy one for my girlfriend as a gift. For the price, I suggest getting them in different sizes! Make sure to get extra springs for the curling iron, and it will last years!

I have very fine, short hair and it normally won't stay in a curling iron. The springs on this one actually kept my hair from spilling out. Plus my hair came out shiney...not frizzy.
