I would like big curls, but my hair doesn't hold a curl as well as it used to, so I don't know what size to pick. If I order the 1.5" and find it too big, or order the 1" and it's too small, can I just order another barrel w/o exchanging the whole unit? In other words, are replacement barrels sold? Nope. This is a fantastic curling iron, but it does not have an auto-off feature. | size matter

YES. I have had mine less than 6 months, and it's chipping EVERYWHERE! And it's just plain metal underneath. I am really dissapointed. | | Reply by Karen

I have been using this curling iron for almost 6 months, using the 5-6 setting, and that's REALLY hot. I have had no signs of wear. Still looks new. I think if you plan to use the highest heat setting, that's when the ceramic coating must start to flake. Heck, if it's really hot on my setting, I imagine using it on the hottest setting will not only flake the coating off, but makes sense it would probably fry your hair. This iron is great. If you have thick hair, try at about half what you expect you'll need, then keep increasing the temp (it takes less than a minute to adjust) until it does the job. That will probably lengthen the life of your curling iron as well as be least damaging to your hair. This curling iron is the bomb! | cord

yep. Swivels nicely, 360, all the way around, very thick cord, like on your dad's power tools... |
