I also have long and waivy hair. The best curling iron size to use for longer hair is 1.5", anything smaller will make your hair look too curly at the ends, (poodle look):).. I did buy a 2" curling iron, and even though I have long hair, the curls didn't look right, they were too big and didn't stay curly it ended up looking just wavy.. instead of nice defined curls.. so your best bet is 1.5".

You should get a 1 1/2 barrel. Its not to small and it wont swallow your hair from bein to big
How do you include end of hair in spiral curl?
