I had the "Hot Tools 1" CeramicTi Tourmaline Flat Iron" for 5 years and it seemed like it wasn't getting as hot as it used to and the coating on the purple plates was cracking. I purchased this iron thinking I was making an upgrade but was sadly mistaken.
1) The plates didn't seem to fit in the housing well. I snagged my hair in between the plates and their housing about 6 times in 10 minutes.
2) The buttons to turn on/off and adjust the temperature settings were right where my hands needed to be to use the iron. There is a lock temp function but I kept overridding it (by gripping too tight?)
3) Worst of all, for me at least, was that you couldn't set the iron down without it falling over. I don't need my dresser catching on fire.
