Was amazing until...

I've had this straightener for a bit more than a year and a half, and it has just recently stopped heating up. This seems to be a common problem with this product, which sucks, because otherwise it is a really amazing straightener. It straightened my hair (type 3A/B) quickly and easily, left it feeling nice and silky-soft, and non-frizzy! It's only warrantied for a year, seemingly for obvious reasons. If Hot Tools fixed the heating-element-dying-out-in-a-year-or-so problem, it would be the best straightener ever. I'm pretty sure I'll be replacing it with something else.

I had this straightener for about 7 months... yeah it worked, it straightened my hair and styled it however i wanted it, but it stopped working at 7 months. Both plates just stopped heating up. Personally, I think it was good while it lasted, but I wouldn't buy another one. Rather than buying two straighteners per year, I'd like to find one that will last longer, like a few years, before I have to invest in another.
