Product Rating: 1 Don't purchase

Take it from me - I am on-line ordering a new straight iron b/c I have purchased this one twice and the first one just stopped working and the second one for awhile, only one plate was working and now for the last few weeks it only heats up when it wants to. Definitely would not recommend.

Product Rating: 1 Broken 4 times!!!!!!
Reviewer: Rick from AZ  Mon Mar 07 2005

We got this straightener for my girlfriend as a b-day present and it worked for about 2 weeks and then stopped heating up. So we returned it to Ulta and got a new one. Broke on about the third use. Returned it and got yet ANOTHER. Broke again after about 3 weeks. Got another one off a return, brought it home and it doesn't heat up. We figured we'd just keep returning it for a new one since she lives right near the store but no more, this piece of SH*T will break every time! Screw hot tools!

i've had this iron for only about a month, so far it's been staightening my hair with not much frizz. my hair is a little thick and wavy, so i have to run it through each section at least two times. the one thing i can really complain about in 1 month of use is that the handle pinches my hand sometimes...that has never happened with other flat irons. after reading these reviews, i'm waiting for it to break down in a couple of months.

Product Rating: 2 not the best iron i've ever used
Reviewer: Jen   Thu Feb 17 2005

Its meant for short and thin hair...unlike mine which is fairly long and thick in texture. It doesn't give the extreme straight look and takes a long time if you want to get all the waves out.

Product Rating: 1 Is a waste of money
Reviewer: Carmen   Tue Feb 15 2005

I bought this item and when i plugged it in to heat it up only one of the panels heated up instead of both. I returned it and the other one worked one time and then it did the same thing. I have now been without a decent straightener for about 3 months now. This is a horrible straightener. I have had cheaper hot tools straighteners that were not ceramic and they lasted for years. Dont buy this item. It will just break on you.

Product Rating: 1 very poor poor product
Reviewer: teresa from san francisco, ca  Fri Feb 11 2005

I've owned the hot tools pro 2 for almost 2 months and used it maybe less than 20 times before it shorted out on me. I'd plug it in, the light is on but there's no heat coming out of it. Very poor product.

A.After a short time of usage, it stopped working. I didn’t even use it much.
B.Every time I used this flat iron my hand would get burnt from just holding it! It also would take over an hour to straighten my hair, preventing me from using it often.
C.After I used it, my hair would look dead; I mean a little body is necessary!
* I hated this iron so much I was glad it broke*

Product Rating: 1 Stopped working
Reviewer: Sue   Wed Jan 26 2005

I loved it until it just stopped working only a few weeks after I got it!

Product Rating: 4 straightener
Reviewer: NMP   Tue Jan 25 2005

this straightener works wonders on my very thick and frizzy curly hair...it makes it pin straight and doesnt give me that many split ends. it does have a burning smell to it though so dont use for too long at a time and be carefukl not to drop it or hit the pklates

Product Rating: 1 HORRIBLE!
Reviewer: Anita   Tue Jan 18 2005

I have been living with frizzy, nasty hair for 3 weeks not, because I pretty much dread having to use this flat iron. My hair gets caught in the flat iron, so I am praying for a painless experience everytime I am using it. I have only had it for about 3 months but I am trashing it and buying a more expensive one (that will treat my hair right)

Product Rating: 1 Stopped Working!!!
Reviewer: NDNhuni from MD  Tue Jan 18 2005

Do yourself a favor and do not get this flat iron. It stopped working the SECOND time i used it. That is really sad, back to the store it goes.

Product Rating: 1 horrible!
Reviewer: Anne from Cincinnati  Fri Jan 14 2005

I bought this straightener and when I took it home, it wouldn't even heat up. I returned it and got another one at the store where I purchased it. The new one worked perfectly for a month and then stopped heating up. So now I'm in the market for another straightener! I do not suggest purchasing this product!

Product Rating: 1 hot tools 2" ceramic
Reviewer: nanci hawkins from california  Thu Jan 06 2005

Purchased 2 of the hot tools 2" ceramic straighteners for gifts. One worked one time and then died, no heat and the other one never heated up properly. I have tried since the day aftter christmas to get Folica to call me. Very, very poor customer service.

Product Rating: 1 This is a waste of money
Reviewer: Denise from ny  Sat Jan 01 2005

I purchased this in June but have only used about 8 times and as noted by other reviewers, it just died. So it was a waste of money. I just decided to spend extra money and purchased Sedu, let's hope it works better.

Product Rating: 2 look @ another brand
Reviewer: Claire from Brentwood  Sun Dec 26 2004

this straitener works quite well for the 1st 2 months. Hot Tools straighteners DO NOT last long. You end up spending $40 on a straightener that breaks in 2 months and having to buy another one. Then 2 months later having to buy another one and so-on. Its a viscious cycle. You would be ALOT better off just going for a flat iron thats a DIFFERENT BRAND! Even if it costs more money, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. I have tried a lot of different types of Hot Tools flat irons and theny all have broken within the first 1-3 months. THEY SUCK! LOOK @ ANOTHER BRAND!

Product Rating: 1 Don't Buy it
Reviewer: Christine   Tue Dec 14 2004

I had it for about 4 months, and then it stopped working. It worked fine before it dies, but to spend that much money every 4 months is not very economical

Reviewer: Erin   Mon Nov 08 2004

I had this for 4 months and the fuse blew...although it worked well for a while, I wouldn't recomend it. Use a different brand!

Product Rating: 5 Hm...?

I think it seems strange that all these 1-star reviews say the same exact thing. I think this product works very well...
