This product completely stopped working only a few months after I got it. It wasn't even that good when it worked. I was thoroughly dissapointed.

I've been using the Hot Tools Professional Ceramic iron for a couple of months and it was working fine. Now only one of the two irons gets hot, and it takes me much more time to straighten my hair. I should've paid an extra 40 or 50 dollars for the Chi. Everybody I know that has it have no complaints.
Flat Iron

I bought this flat iron less than a year ago. Since I'd never used one before, I was very pleased with the results. However, just recently the ceramic coating on the plates started coming off, and using it without the coating really damages your hair, as well as not being able to straighten like it did before. I guess once the ceramic peels off the iron is worthless. I had to stop using it and purchase another, higher quality one. If I would have known, I would have just bought a nicer one in the first place...you get what you pay for.

I've had mine for about a year and I still love it. It gets hot quickly and irons very well. I had the older model but upgraded when my stylist told me the ceramic was better for my hair.
I love it

I used it and nothing else could straighten my hair that well and when I used this product it was awesome. I only had to go through my hair once and it straightened it and it was shiny

I bought this hair iron about 4 days ago-- I loved it, it was so good and straightened my hair so well. But Yesterday when I went to go use it, it wouldnt heat up, the light went on but the plates wouldn't heat at all. So i went to the store today and returned it for a new one. IT seems to work right now, but im just wondering how long this one is going to work for. I am very suprised with hot tools, because the other hair irons they have (non-ceramic) work very well for their price. The cost about $25 and last about a year and a 1/2 before they break. I suggest anyone who is int he market for a good hair iron, do your research before you spend your money!
Glad I'm not the only one...

I originally bought a Hot Tools metal flat iron about 5 years ago -- still have it, still love it -- so I thought I would give the ceramic model a try. I bought one and it crapped out on me after only using it once or twice. I was able to exchange it for another and after using it maybe only 10 times over a four month period, THAT one crapped out on me also. I'm really disappointed and Hot Tools should be ashamed for ripping so many people off.
Wont heat up

I bought this product just a little over a month ago. The plates heat up so little i can touch it to my face, i could not return because the store has a 14 day exchange policty only. Such a waste of money i will not buy it again.

this product is a peice of crap! i will never buy another hot tools product ever again. it worked great for about 3 months and then completely stopped working. the light stays on, but no heat! and this is not an uncommon thing, this has happened to everyone who has bought a hot tools straightener. the company better give me my money back ($60!!) or give me a straightener that actually works!

After having this straightner for only a month the light would be on but neither of the plates would heat up at all. Horrible buy, for the price it did not last at all.
Meh.

I recieved this straightener as a Christmas present from my aunt. At first, it worked GREAT. Seriously amazing. But now it has almost completely stopped working. The light will turn on but the plates won't heat up at all. It's a good buy, but it doesn't last very long.
not very good

There is a gap between the plates and the plastic that my hair kept getting caught in. I suppose it would be better if you had short hair, but my hair is very long.
Good!

This was my first ceramic flat iron that I bought for my own personal use at home. I kind of wished I would have just gotten a wider one, but it still works great on my wavy hair. If you don't choose with this exact product, I'd reccoment to sticking with Hot Tools because the have the 1-year package and are all-around good products.

I bought this product because of the wonderful description about how ceramic is better on your hair. However, it doesn't straighten well even under the high scorching heat. I feel like my house will go on fire if I forget to turn it off.
Besides the aforementioned points, the main reason I'm going to return this (and I'm normally very lazy about returns) is because IT PULLS MY HAIR OUT!!!!
The plates were poorly made. There is a gap between the plates and the handles. My hair gets caught everytime no matter how careful I am. I used it for a week and went back to my cheap vidal sassoon piece of crap...and that was still better than this worthless tool.

I think this is the one that I purchased and returned. It was poorly made, the handles/paddles would slide from side to side when together a bit. Biggest problem was that it pulled the hair.
terrible. yet another disappointing hot tools

This flat iron is terrible.
I got it at Christmas this year. It seemed to be okay until about the beginning of February when everything stopped working.
1.) It takes so long to straighten
2.) It isn't even ceramic. . . its just ceramic coated
3.) The purple (ceramic) part started to chip off
4.) The straightener won't even turn off. The button is jammed and I have to unplug it every time.
5.) It damages my hair so bad
6.) Its just terrible in general
Please don't buy this product. Don't purchase any of their products and give them money to create even more crappy producs. ::sigh::
