i got the hot tools ceramic flat iron as a christmas present...i looked at it and thought to myself "wow, its professional, ceramic, and costs more than any other straightener i've ever gotten, it must be great!"...well, i was WRONG...the biggest complaint i have with this product is that my hair gets caught in it, and huge chunks get ripped out...it's not very pleasant...also,it makes my hair frizzy and my hair starts to get wavy after only a few minutes...i'm really dissapointed...so i'll be buying the sedu flat iron within the next couple of days...
Great for about a month !

I bought this flat iron about a year ago. It worked good up until about 1 month ago when my hair started getting stuck in the space where the plate connects to the plastic. It is very difficult to use now and will frequently pull my hair out. I am looking into purchasing a more expensive brand.
it broke.

My cousin had this straightener, and i used it once and i absolutely L0VED it. I ended up getting it as a Christmas present and was VERY happy with it.. until it broke. it made my THiCK/WAVY hair unbelievably straight in a matter of 15-20 minutes. It broke, as many others have stated, right at the handle so basically I have 0NE plate to straighten. It really is a good product, but you need to be EXTRA careful with it.. hey, mine only lasted for 12 days.
I love it :]

I must admit I may not own one yet but I used this iron every day at for 3 months. It was fantastic. I have thick wavy hair and did the job pretty well with out pulling out my hair. I am so amazed I even ordered one for myself and I should be getting it tommorow. All I could say is that this iron rox!!!!!!!!!!!

I've bought two of this same style of straightener and they both have broken in the middle. I do not advise to buy this product because it is not very reliable and durable.

It definetly heats up rather quickly! I have short hair and it is a time saver to just run it through a few times and be on my way. I like it and glad I bought it!!

Better yet, my daughter is thrilled beyond belief. She has naturally very curly hair. We've tried many things, including two other flat irons...and nothing can compare.
I don't know how people are getting their hair torn out, but we've had no problems. My daughter is 10 and always dreamed of having straight, silky hair. Her normal curly hair is very thick and coarse. This is very easy to use, heats up quickly and makes her hair very soft. Its awesome. And you can't beat the price. My aunt came over and she is a professional hairdresser. She uses a 220.00 iron at her salon and even she said this was a very good product. She couldn't believe how well it worked.
I love it!

I purchased this from folica and found it to be like $20.00 cheaper than other sites. I love my Hot Tools Ceramic Flat Iron! I really like the condition it leaves my hair in. The service was great too and I would definitly order from them again.
Just ok

This is my first ceramic iron and I am not impressed. Personally I think the normal Hot Tools flat iron works better than this one and it's cheaper. However, I have very curly hair and I like it very straight. I would not buy this product again.

OMG this straightner like totally rocks. It makes your hair look awesome. It is also realy easy to use. It heats up quick too so you'll be done in a snap. My advice is to buy this flat iron, its worth every penny

My super thick curly hair is straight and beautiful and it lasts thru humidity! I don't know how others are getting their hair ripped out, but I don't with my long hair. It straightens with one pass! It would have changed my life as a teenager.
Best one i ever used

I really really like this flat iron. I have tried many other flat irons, ones that were much more expensive and they did not do as good as a good as this one. Even friends prefer to use mine over their own. Love it!
not worth the damage to your hair

while the iron does work pretty well to straighten my naturally very wavy & curly & frizzy hair... each time i use it i'm amazed at how much hair is ripped out by getting caught in the handle.... if i had more money & i would have replaced it the 2nd time i used it
better off getting a more expensive one

I bought this one after my nice chi ceramic straightner broke after 3 years of awesome use and results. I bought this one as a temporary replacement and I totally hate it. It rips out my hair every time i use it, and doesnt even straighten my hair that well. I figured hot tools was a pretty decent name but boy was i wrong!! save up some extra cash and buy an expensive one like the chi or sedu, its definately worth it!!!
This flat iron stinks.

I bought the Hot Tools iron on the recommendation of a friend and i wish i never listened to her. I noticed that it had this bad smell, it pulled my hair out all the time, it took a long time to straighten somewhat (even though it didn't really do the job anyway) and my hand hurt after a while of going over the same strand of hair 100 times. Spend the extra money for a better quality flat iron (like the Sedu, i love it!) and don't bother with this one.
it worked for me

i was introduced to this product through a friend. it worked really well the first time i used it. I have really thick hair so not many hair products and tools have ever worked on my hair so i was very surprised when this straightener worked like magic. as for the quality well see how it works over time.
