I really really like this flat iron. I have tried many other flat irons, ones that were much more expensive and they did not do as good as a good as this one. Even friends prefer to use mine over their own. Love it!
not worth the damage to your hair

while the iron does work pretty well to straighten my naturally very wavy & curly & frizzy hair... each time i use it i'm amazed at how much hair is ripped out by getting caught in the handle.... if i had more money & i would have replaced it the 2nd time i used it
better off getting a more expensive one

I bought this one after my nice chi ceramic straightner broke after 3 years of awesome use and results. I bought this one as a temporary replacement and I totally hate it. It rips out my hair every time i use it, and doesnt even straighten my hair that well. I figured hot tools was a pretty decent name but boy was i wrong!! save up some extra cash and buy an expensive one like the chi or sedu, its definately worth it!!!
This flat iron stinks.

I bought the Hot Tools iron on the recommendation of a friend and i wish i never listened to her. I noticed that it had this bad smell, it pulled my hair out all the time, it took a long time to straighten somewhat (even though it didn't really do the job anyway) and my hand hurt after a while of going over the same strand of hair 100 times. Spend the extra money for a better quality flat iron (like the Sedu, i love it!) and don't bother with this one.
it worked for me

i was introduced to this product through a friend. it worked really well the first time i used it. I have really thick hair so not many hair products and tools have ever worked on my hair so i was very surprised when this straightener worked like magic. as for the quality well see how it works over time.
Crap compleate crap

This hair straightener seemed liked a great thing when i first bought it but also no. It was compleate crap I bought my hot tools straightener in July and it broke on December first, my birthday of all days. This hair straightener not only broke which sucks but every time I would straighten my hair it would catch hair and break it off. I now have little wispy hairs at my temples that were broken by this strsightener. It may seem like a good straightener because it is ceramic and everything but it isn't. Though I was not pleased by this straightener i have a different hot tools that still works though it is not a ceramic iron. Anyway "Buyer Beware" this strightener is not all it is craked up to be.
Put in the extra money for a better iron!

I don't really like this iron- I was honestly really disappointed with it, but then again, it was only 30 dollars or so. I recommend investing in a more expensive, higher quality flat iron. This one just doesn't work that well!

I don't have a perm and this flat iron gets my hair extremely straight, My hair has so much body, I really love this iron because I had the golden hot flat iron and it broke after two weeks of useage, I have had this iron for about two months and it works great.
Excellent!

This straightener works very good. It doesnt take long to heat up at all. Unlike some straighteners i have tried, this straightener glided smoothly through my hair. I only had it for about 3 months because somebody stole it at school, but during those 3 months the quality stayed the same. It did not fall apart, and it worked every time. I have some what frizzy hair, and in houston the humidity really makes your hair frizz even more, but with this straightener my hair did not frizz. My hair stayed straight all day. I definately reccomend this straightener.
Bone Straight Despite Fog

I live in San Francisco and it is foggy and moist almost every day. Thanks to this iron I am finally able to have a smooth, layered cut that stays bone straight and soft as feathers for 3-4 days. I have only had mine a short time so I can't vouch for durability, but the effectiveness without damaging the hair is already worth the price.

I did like the way it straightened my hair ... for the first 2 months. After that it didn't seem to get as hot, and it broke by month 3. My sister also bought the same one, and she is now having similar problems. They also pull your hair, and you end up with a head full of tiny broken hairs. It is a great straightener if you don't use it everyday, but if you do I'd suggest the Wigo ceramic flat iron. That one is FANTASTIC, and it has a 3 year warranty. You'll thank me later!

This iron is better than cheap 20$ ones, but it still isn't that good. It gets hot really fast which is good and it has different temperature settings. I've had mine for about 4 months and it broke. It costs 30$ just to get it fixed because i lost the receipt. I also had to use a lot of products in my hair before using it because it caused so much damage.

I've had this flat iron for about 1 1/2 years and its been wonderful, although a day or two ago it cracked (still able to use though). i would tell anyone to get this flat iron.i go to florida every year and it is so humid there and this flat iron definitley kept my hair from frizzing. i have long thick wavy hair and it gets the job done in about 20 mins! mine did brake but im definitley spend the $40 on it,the price is very reasonable. im buying a new one today!its an awesome flat iron!BUY IT!

i've been through four straighteners in my life -- two conair irons that damaged my hair beyond belief and practically melted and destroyed themselves without my interference, a vidal sassoon gold-plated iron with a weak handle that snapped in two after 1 month of use, and this hot tools ceramic iron. it's been about six months and i've never been able to get a smoother, sleeker, straighter finish on my hair before. best of all, it feels so soft to the touch and not crunchy or hay-like. and i've noticed that on rainy days, the moisture barely affects my hair. i come home and it's still straight with little to no frizz. this coming from someone whose hair literally changes form when moisture is in the air, you certainly should be impressed. it's the best hair product investment i've made thus far.

Ok, so the first time I ever used this straightener was at a friends house and right away I knew I had to have. I have been through so many straighteners over the past few years and none have them have worked so well for such a great price as this one. It is quick and easy and never gets stuck in my hair like some of the other people said it did in their reviews. Even before I bought one I read all of the reviews and most of them had something negative to say about it but I still bought it anyway and I know it was a good decision. It even makes my hair smoother and shinier....definitel a Good Buy!!!!!

I take very good care of my tools! I have several much cheaper conair tools that I have abused and they work perfectly. This one I purchased for way too much money less than 6 months ago and now it will not heat up. Don't waste your money on the expensive one. Conair has a much better ceramic tool that works much better!!!

I think this a great flat iron. I have EXTREMLY curly hair and I can get it pin straight with this flat iron. The only complaint I have is you hair does get caught in the screw on the handle at times otherwise it's worth the money!
Breaks Quickly & Easily

I bought this straightner less than 4 months ago and it already has broken!! I absolutely loved this straightner, it workED so well, but i think it is absolutely ridiculous how it broke so quickly. I took care of it, and within 2 months I noticed that it wasn't clamping as tightly. When i looked closely there was a hairline crack going across the bottom of one of the plates. And today, the straightner just broke right in half. I am extremely upset because i spent $40 for a product that lasted only a short while! My advice to anyone considering buying this product is buy it if you're willing to only have it for a short time! It's a great product, and worked really well, it is just terribly manufactured.

I bought this flat iron over a year ago and I love it. I've had no trouble with it whatsoever and am ordering my daughter one. I have short coarse/curly hair that NEVER looks smooth but this flat iron does the trick. No complaints at all.

well i wouldn't expect the best from hot tools, but I have their marcel irons and have always been pretty happy with them. I got this iron with my kit for school and it is the worst I have ever used. For not much more money you can get a much better one.
