What's with my straightener?
Okay, I got this straightener yesterday and today I tried to use it, but it was not working. I made sure everything was on and it was hot and everything and my hair did not change at all. It's completely worthless. Did I do something wrong?

I would not suggest using a Hot Tools flat Iron in Europe. On my trip to London, mine heated super hot, hotter than it has ever been, and then completely cold! Never to work again. It could have been a surge, but I think flat irons and converters don't work together.

It really depends what kind of hair you have. if you have very thin hair, you should use it on the lower settings. if your hair is wavy, thick, or curly, then you might want to go higher. dont forget that the more heat, the more it will straighten your type of hair. but you dont want to burn it. and im pretty sure that the degrees setting is up to around 200 or so maybe 300. if you still have the box, it should say it there.

lost instructions
How do you know when it is heated up? What are the temperatures of the different settings? What kind of hair do you have and what temperature do you use? What is the max temperature? My hairdresser used this on my hair and it got really straight but when I use it at home it doesn't get as straight. I don't know the max temperature so I'm afraid to use it on the highest heat setting.

I think the iron goes up to about 300 degrees and usually reaches the setting that you set it to within 5 minutes after you turn it on. You should probabaly start with the lower setting and work your way up till you find a setting that works for you.

if u still have the box, it says on the front that the maximum temperature is 480 degrees. i have really wild hair before i straighten it and i use the straightener on 7 (on the 1-10 dial). it works really well on my hair, and my hair is really crazy. its fully heated in about 2-3 minutes.
