I thought this straightener was alright for awhile but I realized it wasn't anything special like it is said to be. I bought it because the place I get my hair cut said it was really good and a quality straightener. I paid too much for it, it wasn't any better than a cheap one you could buy. It straightened well but damaged my hair a lot. After awhile the ceramic covering began to go away around the sides. But even before that it damaged it my hair now it's just even worse even with using protective creams, gels, sprays, and blow drying first so its not wet. In conclusion I question it's "ceramicness" wasn't that great of a product, not worth the money. I've used better.
Btw it only straightened really well if you had it on the highest setting, which is to blame for some of the damage, but even on a lower setting I still had close to the same amount or just as much. I don't have unusually thick either, I'd say it's average.
DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT AND DONT BYE!!!!!!

(I actually bought a Hot tools 2 inch ceremic, model no. 1189, but I expect theyre not much different at all)
Okay, so my old straightener (babyliss PRO) had JUST broke this morning, so, I went to TJMaXx and looked through a few different selections (rusk, Hot tools, and BarBar)... I chose this one because it looked most professional and you can beat the price! I just got out of the shower, and as soon as my hair dryed, I plugged in my new straightener:
It heated up to the highest setting in about a minute, and all together took me TEN minutes to straigten my hair which is halfway down my back and extremely thick and fluffy, when I was done I had to come write a review because I just LOVE this straightener! Its better then the CHI ($150), in my opinion, its so fast and smooth! I'm dissapointed that it has such a low rating... oh well.. all I can say is buy it! Especially if you have thick/coarse/curly hair. great brand... good investment. (:
so glad I took the chance on this one!

So I have seen many reviews about this flat iron and OMG it is true! My flat iron stopped working after a year of use. It is very upsetting that I have wasted 60 bucks for a years worth of use but I can inly buy Hot tools flat irons becasue other ones I have tried are no good. I love the make but not the product.
Really? I loved mine.

I was pricing this flat iron for my lost baggage claim and was surprised to see it was rated so low. I loved mine and am really sad that it's been lost somewhere in the Philadelphia airport. I bought it about three years ago and it still worked just fine. Heats up high (I need a really high temperature) and fairly quickly. I will be replacing it promptly with the same model.
It actually lasted longer than a Wigo iron I once bought.
