Product Rating: 4 great product!
Reviewer: mary duffy from OK  Fri Jul 13 2007

I can't believe all the negative postings about the motor of this product. My mom has had hers for 7 years and I've had mine for 3 years and niether of us have had any problems. I love this product and wish they would come out with one that had a bigger barrel.

Product Rating: 1 What a rip-off!
Reviewer: Tammie from Castle Rock, CO  Thu May 31 2007

I bought the product and was very excited about it. It worked GREAT...till it died just two months later. I only used this product 2-3 times a week and within 2 months it just quit. Of course because I didn't keep the box, I couldn't get a refund from the beauty supply store!! I was very disappointed because I did enjoy the product very much. oh well...live and learn. SAVE your boxes and receipts for this product!

Product Rating: 4 The best product out there, but short lived
Reviewer: Jessica Rodriguez   Fri Mar 30 2007

This sis by far the best product. I have gone through 3 of these already. Iv tried using other brands and they just dont work like this product does. It sounds silly, but I guess its beeter to just have to replace this about every six months!!Go figure!

Product Rating: 5 Excellent but short lived
Reviewer: mls from ohio  Mon Mar 05 2007

I love this product, it works better than anything else out there. But keep a spare on hand ALWAYS. It might work 6 months, it might work 10 months, but consider this a short lived appliance. That said, if only they would make a dual volt for travel, all my hair issues would be solved.

Product Rating: 5 I have used this item for two years now and love it.

This hot air brush has been a lifesaver for my hair. My hair is fine and I have a lot of it, but it tends to frizz a bit, and this airbrush makes it sleek and wavy, w/o the frizz factor. I just ordered two more. I hope they don't stop making them...

Product Rating: 1 good idea, too hot
Reviewer: Jean Philips   Mon Oct 23 2006

This item arrived broken; the barrel would just fall off when in use. Even if it had stayed on though the barrel got too hot to handle. I can only imagine that it would have fried my hair.

Product Rating: 2 2nd one just burnt out
Reviewer: Anne   Mon Sep 18 2006

I've had 2 hot tools airbrushes, and the 2nd just burnt out on me. I love it for styling my hair, but I don't think it's worth replacing every 6 months when I only used it about once a week.

Product Rating: 2 Hot Tools Air Brush
Reviewer: Vonni from Honolulu, Hawaii  Mon Jul 24 2006

I'm a hairdresser and bought this product at a beauty supply store. It worked for about 6 months then it started to quit as if it was over heating. I loved the way it tamed the frizzies, although I never used on my clients. There is no way of sterilizing it. I was about to order another one today until I started reading all the negative reviews. I have changed my mind.

Product Rating: 1 BURNING MOTOR!
Reviewer: Nancy   Fri Jun 16 2006

This hot air brush only lasted 1 month before all the settings except for low would not work. It started to smell like it was burning and one day the motor did actually start to burn. Good thing it wasn't touching my hair at the time because I feel it could have started my hair on fire.

Product Rating: 1 LOVE GONE WRONG
Reviewer: frazzled from WA  Wed Jun 07 2006

once upon a time --- when I first purchased this item I was in love --- it worked beautifully on my fine hair --- then after I had used it probably no more than 6 times it started smelling like it was burning up. This is really disappointing when you spend a fair amount of money on a specialty item and it is not made well enough to last for a reasonable amount of time. I am NOT living happily ever after!!

Product Rating: 5 quick & easy
Reviewer: mary from houston,t x  Fri Jun 02 2006

it takes just a few minutes to dry my hair with this and it styles my hair at the same time. this is the second one i buy. i broke the brush on the old one and the bristles on the brush are just dead by now. but never had any problems with the motor. works great!

Product Rating: 1 Great, Until It Burned Up
Reviewer: C.R. from New York, NY  Tue May 09 2006

This brush worked very well -- until the motor burned out. The brush lasted about six months, and was used only once or twice per week. I would save my money.

Product Rating: 3 Lasted a month
Reviewer: Maribel from Bell, California  Thu May 04 2006

This hot air brush was great!!! It would leave my hair smooth and with lots of volume. Unfortunately, it only lasted one month, I guess the motor burned out. This was very dissapointing.

Product Rating: 5 Great original product!
Reviewer: Julia from Seattle  Sat Mar 04 2006

I purchased my only Hot Tools air brush in 1997, and it still works great! Makes my hair smoothed-out and shiny, gives it body, and I use it daily. Sorry to hear the latter models may have flaws.

Product Rating: 2 motor burned up within 2 months
Reviewer: Carla from pa  Tue Jan 17 2006

The hot air brush helped keep my hair smoother (must be the ionic feature) but the motor burned up already! I have only had it two months! And I haven't straightened my hair every day...if I do straighten it, I don't wash it the next day (sometimes for 3 days) because it still looks clean. The motor sounded cheap from the first time I turned it on...and one day it just popped, the reset/GFI button tripped and turned it off, and it smelled like burned wires! So disappointing after spending so much money! Helen of Troy (the maker) agreed to replace it free but I'm still paying for shipping. I would like to get a refund and get another brand but I guess I'll try another one. Hope it was just a fluke but after reading other reviews I don't think so. If it happens again I'll fight for my money back and get another brand! Plus the bristles are too short for my thick, curly hair and I have to manually wind my hair around it. My advice: don't buy this hot air brush but look for better reviews on another brand.

Product Rating: 1 Ionic hot air brush
Reviewer: Sue from Twin Falls, Idaho  Fri Dec 09 2005

I bought this product in October 2005 and w/in 30 days it quit. The merchant allowed me to return it and I was given another hot air brush. Within 30 days it quit. I bought it from a beauty supply merchant and they indicated they had other customer complaints. Isn't this product supposed to be of a better quality? I would think anyone using this tool professionally would be embarrassed to have a new tool quit. I was on vacation when the first one quit and greatly inconvenienced.

Product Rating: 2 Not as good as it looked
Reviewer: Karen H. from San Diego, CA  Tue Nov 01 2005

I purchased the Hot Air Brush, and it does not perform up to my expectations. The bristles are way too short, it wouldn't even grab my hair. My hair is medium-long, and I have a lot of it. I had to wrap my hair around the brush with my hand, because the bristles wouldn't grab it. It might work for someone with short, thin hair.

Product Rating: 5 Excellent choice
Reviewer: Roxana   Thu Oct 13 2005

I've been using this brush for a while now and this is my second one. The first purchase last about 1 -1/2 yr and then died, so I decided to order another one. I love it, it is the only thing that work perfect to straight my hair smoothly and with natural curl out style, besides the salon 2hr blow dry by hand. I have recommended this to a lot of people, specially with natural curly frizzy, corsy hair. I just wish it would last longer and maybe they can make it hotter and more powerful in the future, but definatley is much better than those flat irons outthere. Thank you

Product Rating: 1 It just quit working-waste of MONEY!
Reviewer: theresa from WA  Fri Sep 30 2005

I have used the revlon brand for 12 bucks and it has 2 attachments BUT it was not ionic, and from all i hear they are better for your hair. I went to the beauty store, bought one and did not bother to save the box or receipt since in all my years this has not happened. I was out 40bucks and back to my revlon :-(

Product Rating: 1 Motor Useless - Ion Technology Good
Reviewer: Susan Logan from Leo, Indiana  Mon Aug 29 2005

This dryer will not last!! I am sending back the dryer for the second time to Helen of Troy. They will send a replacement but if it is past the 1yr warranty you have to pay $16.00 + shipping the product back. The motor keeps dying on these dryers in 1yr or less! (I only use the low setting.)At this point I don't even think it is worth trying a 3rd time! I'm throwing it away and going to a different brand.
