I've never used the hot sock. In fact, I have neither used a foam diffuser nor a plastic diffuser. And I don't have curly hair. However, reading these reviews make me believe that this is a fantastic product at a really great price! Big ups to folica.com for selling such an amazing item so cheaply. I read also that their service is fantastic and the delivery is prompt. I almost want to buy one myself but I don't have a hairdryer unfortunately. But anyway, I think this is just a freaking awesome deal! BUY IT!!!

This was my second Hot Sock. It's better than any other diffuser I've tried. My old one lasted at least a couple of years before the elastic wore out and it started blowing off the dryer. Not bad for a $5.00 diffuser. Does a fantastic job of diffusing and controlling curl.

It's a silly looking thing but gets the job done. Takes a little longer to dry than with a regular diffuser. It fits really well over a small/travel hair blower. Light, packable. I'm very pleased.

I buy these all the time since they are sold at such a good price. They keep my hair from getty frizzy unlike those plastic diffusers and they fit on pretty much any blow dryer. Unlike the plastick diffusers, it controls how much how air blows on your hair. With plastic diffusers, your hair is still blowing everywhere. After a while, they may get holes in them but they do last very long. I just buy another one since they're only $5.00.

I bought two, after reading the reviews. It's such a simple tool, hard to believe it makes such a difference, but it does. It doesn't lift and dry like the hard diffusers with "fingers", but it fits on my travel hairdryer, the gym's hairdryer--much more versatile than the hard kind which had me pulling my old Conair dryer out of retirement.

Its not as good as a regular diffuser, but then its not supposed to be, its portable and less bulky.
I have fine, wavy hair and this works great for me. If you have very thick or coarse hair, you may just want to keep one for your travel bag and stick with a regular diffuser at home.
But I really love it and think most people would be happy with it. The price is great and even if you don't like it as much as I do, its hardly a big risk and I don't think anyone would find it totally useless.

This diffuser sure beats having one of those big, bulky, plastic attachments at the end of your hair dryer. If you don't need to add a lot of fullness to your hair, this is the way to go.

Ultralight is right! I love it not only because it makes my hair look great,it's the most convenient diffuser ever! It fits into my cosmetic over night bag, I bought 2, one for home and one to stay in my over night bag, so I'm never without it.

My hair is long, very thick and curly, so I use a large bowl diffuser with my blow dryer to dry my hair. It works very well. However, I needed something I could pack that is not as bulky as my large bowl diffuser, so I bought this product after reading the reviews. All I can say is, it may work for some, but it didn't work for me. It didn't let enough air through the sock so it took forever to dry my hair even at the high setting. It also didn't support the curls the way a bowl diffuser dose and I ended up with BIG hair that was frizzy. At least it wasn't a BIG investment.

The Hot Sock rocks! I looked EVERYWHERE for a foam diffuser--hair salons, beauty supply stores, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, etc. and came up empty. I knew what I wanted and I wasn't going to settle for one of those big plastic clunky diffusers. My last resort was the Internet. I am so glad that Folica.com came up in my search efforts. I saw the Hot Sock and ordered it IMMEDIATELY. It was what I had been looking WEEKS for without results. The price was fantastic, the item is exactly what I wanted, and delivery was immediate. I am very happy with the Hot Sock, and I will most definitely order other items from Folica.com in the future.

I bought the Hot Sock after my hairdresser used one while styling my hair recently. Ordinarily, when I blow dry my hair, the force of the air straightens what little wave I have naturally and with the Hot Sock, that is not an issue anymore. I can get heat on my hair, so it dries quickly, while preserving the wave, curl and volume. It's a very cool product. Also, it fits on every dryer I have tried it on so far and it's so small, it travels well - takes up no space. In fact, you could just take the Hot Sock and use any dryer in a hotel, if you wanted.

i bought this for my curly-haired 3 year old daughter. although it dries her hair into lovely ringlets, it emits a strange odor when the hairdryer's warm air passes through it. as a result, my daughter won't let me use it on her.

I bought a similar product at the annual Hair Show in LA many years ago and when it finally wore out, I could not find one retail. It lasted me about 6 years! This product is great because it is small and lightweight unlike most diffusers on the market. It is great for travel. I have very fine curly hair and a regular dryer blows all the curl out. This diffuser gently drys my hair and helps it to retain it's curl.
