Awesome travel product

I purchased the large size hot air brush shortly before a trip to Europe. I have thick coarse hair which takes forever to dry and style. This brush was sensational and cut down the styling time and products considerably. Although it is not powerful enough to go from wet to dry, it is a very effective styling tool which was well worth the money. Have recommended to many and I am considering buying a back up. Although there were some heat up, shut off problems while away, I have encountered none in North America. I Highly endorse the product.

wish I never would have purchased this product. It is way to load on the ears and does not dry as will as my last one that I had.
Excellent-despite the short comings

Ive been using this brush since they first came out. All of the criticism about them overheating and turning off after several minutes of use is completely accurate. Its a bit annoying but I dont mind just leaving the thing on to avoid the on-off problem. I wash my hair every other day. (Read: the brush gets used a lot because my hair is thick, coarse and it takes a while to style it.) They will last a few years but they absolutely have a limited lifespan and they are going stop working entirely after several years of use. Even with me leaving the motor continually running as I do during the entire time I am styling it, these last at least 3 years. This brush is not meant to be used on soaking wet hair, particularly if your hair is thick like mine. You need to partially dry you hair and use it as a styling tool. Putting aside all those comments, I still could not live without this item. I usually buy them 2 at time at the cheapest price I can find on the Internet. (Folica's price is great.) I try to get free shipping and avoid taxes. Ladies..the cost of this brush is under $30! Its not exactly a disposable item but its not a lifetime purchase either! It definitely has a shelf life. I think that 3 years is pretty good in the worth what paid for equation. The thing that makes the Helen of Troy Hot Air Brush so excellent is not only the ease of use as compared to a regular brush and hair dryer; its the fact that it is very gentle on your hair. I am not frying/drying my hair on a continual bases with 1500 to 1800 watts of turbo power, which when your hair is color treated and prone to dryness like mine, is a blessing. While I do use a flat iron, I use it minimally and only on the areas that I absolutely need it like my bangs. I dearly wish that after all these years Helen of Troy would put a better motor in the thing. I would happily pay more for a higher quality product in terms of design. However if your primary goal is easy styling and healthy hair that will be far less prone to dryness and split ends AND you can live with the brushs short comings, you arent going to get a better result with any product out there.
Great Product

I have had this product for more than 3 years. I have fine straight hair and it works so well. Recently it heats up before I finish (I assume this to be a safety feature) and so I want a second to use as a backup. I have not been able to find this product in a shop. Thank you for offering it on line.
I would recommmend this Hot Air Brush to anyone. It's great.
Love mine, but...

...unfortunately it does overheat TOO quickly! I have thin hair, and blow dry my hair about 80% dry with a regular hair dryer. I then section my hair off and finish it with my Helen of Troy Hot Air Brush. It works great until I'm about half-way done. Then it won't turn on again. I have to wait a bit for it to cool and eventually it turns out.
Maybe I just need another as a "backup". I really have no complaints other than it overheats too quickly/easily.
Great Styling, But Short Life Span>>>

This is a great styling tool, however, after using it moderately for only 6 months it ceased working. Hopefully, the manufacturer will re-design this styler in order to increase its functional time span.
Great work until it melts...

I have had three of these, so far, and love to use them. It's easy to use and easy on my hair but, two have already melted on my hair. That's not a perfected product. It must have a flaw in the heat element.

This product would be perfect IF:
(1) it had enough wattage to actually dry hair,
(2) the brush could be removed for drying, and
(3) it had a longer life-span.
As it is, I would not recommend it to potential buyers.
Motor burns out after only 6 months

I just want to report that I, too, love what this tool does for my hair (thin, straight), but the quality of the tool's inner parts must be poor, because the tool burns out after 6 months of everyday use. I partially dry my hair first with a blow-dryer.
Hot-air brushes are hard to find. I wish the manufacturer would address this short-life problem.
It dies SO FAST.

I've gone thru this 4 times. My stylist recommended me this, cos it's non drying and healthier for your hair. Especially if you have thin, fine, straight, flat hair like me. It's pretty good for creating natural wavy look. But it dies so fast. If you use this almost everyday, it will gives you about 3 or 4 months life span. It will shuts off by itself, and then on again after 5 minutes and works for 2 minutes, stop again. Soon, it dies forever. ANNOYING!!!
Great styling, poor quality

It's hard to give this a rating. Styling wise, this is the best hot air brush I have used. It dries my hair fast and my hair has great body. Also, I my hair doesn't get damaged the way it did when I used a standard blow dryer and brush. However, as others have noted, it doesn't last but a few months! I have gone through 4 in the last year and a half. They only last 4-6 months. Now, I have short hair and it only takes at most 10 minutes to do so it isn't like I'm using for 1/2 hour+ a day. It starts by shutting off after a few minutes then just stops turning on altogether. But, it does a fantastic job styling...
Styling, not drying

For those who complain that it takes forever for them to dry their hair with this product, I don't think hot air brushes are for going from wet to dry. I've been using them for years, and I blow my hair semi-dry quickly with my regular dryer, and then finish styling with this brush. It works fabulously well, and is so much easier than a curling iron for getting a nice, soft style.
Not hot enough to do the job

Takes too long to dry my fine, curly hair. Like most hot air brushes, it's just not hot enough to do the job adequately. I'm still looking for one that's right for me.

I love the Helen of Troy Hot Air Brushes. I have 2 of them (different sizes). My hair never gets tangled and they dry my hair a lot quicker than using a hair dryer and brush.

I have used the 3/4" and 1" models for years and like them both very much for drying and styling at the same time. The 3/4" model is hard to find in the area stores so I was delighted to find it online at Folica.com. I believe it is the best product of its kind - it handles two styling jobs at one time.

Hot Air Brush Return

This product seemed to be of excellent quality. I plugged it in and it heated very quickly.
I returned it because it was not the syle I was looking for and I decided it wouldn't work well for my purposes.
Folica notified me when they received the return and refunded my purchase price quickly. Nice company to do business with.

This Hot Air Brush feels great in the hand. It is easy to use and adds luster and fullness to my hair. I wish I had discovered this years ago. Had hoped it would be dual voltage, but it wasn't. Thus, 4 stars instead of 5. I wound up buying a hot air brush in Italy, and I'll keep that one for future European travel.
