Wimpy, really wimpy

I agree with the other reviewer re lack of power. I'm probably clumsier than average, and I find it really easy to burn myself with this thing, much more so than any other hair appliance (and I have a lot). The barrel also releases way too easily; I've got coarse frizzy hair and it can just rip that thing right off. It works the best to roll my ends under and that's about it.
tangles galore

The curl release button DOES NOT WORK. instead your hair will just stay tangled in the brush and if you have long hair this is definitely not for you. terrible product, complete waste of money.
Excellent for fine hair

If you have fine hair this is the brush for you. Yes, the watts are low at 300, but it's all you need for fine hair. My previous hot air brush ran so hot, I could only use it for a few seconds before it would begin to burn my head. I love this one.
Weak motor

I am upset that I bought this. Don't waste your money. It has hardly any power and takes too long to dry your hair. The high setting on this was lower than the low setting on aany normail hair dryer.

This is my second purchase of the hot air brush--the first one is now in my gym bag! No tangles, perfect performance--every day. The screws did come loose on the first one, but I jut put a drop of Gorilla glue in the holes and put the screws back in and it is fine. I like the smaller barrel, but with a change of hair style, am planning to buy the largest barrel size soon.
No power

It has a really weak little motor and hardly puts out any air at all. I'm very sorry I bought it. The box was impossible to open without ripping, so I can't take it back. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.
love it

I don't use it on wet hair only dry and it works very well.
It's easy to use and 1.5" brush is big enough to do my mid length hair.

Thanks for offering the 3/4" barrell hot air brush by Helen of Troy. It works great on my short hair. The larger brushes just didn't do the job and I am all thumbs when it comes to using a dryer plus a hair brush to get the "look" I want! Thanks again!!

I bought this product for my 75 year old mother. Whenever she got her hair cut and permed she always raved about the styling brush/blow dryer combination the stylist used. Now that she has her own she tells me that it is so lightweight and so easy to use. She especially likes the bristles & the quick release button so that her hair doesn't get tangled and that she can get her hair fixed at home in half the time it had been taking her with two instruments. I have now bought one for myself and agree with her 100%. Well worth the money!
Hot enough to burn

Product runs too hot; burns fingers & hair. I have to keep balancing it with the cooling mechanism while I'm using it. It even has hot spots in the handle so I have to keep shifting my hand while using it.
A real winner!

I have very fine hair and also am lucky enough to have a cowlick. This brush really takes care of both those things
It gives my hair more body too. It is not noisy as some of the others are. It is only 300watts but that is sufficient.
I could not be more delighted.
This was money well spent.

Excellent Hot Air brush

I think the Helen of Troy Thermal Hot Air brushes are awesome. I have them in different sizes. I also tried a Revlon thermal hot air brush and did not think it was as good quality as the Helen of Troy line.
Changes from old style for the worse

My old Helen of Troy hot brush looks just like this and they have made changes. The bristles are softer and do not hold my fine, short hair as well. Also on the old brush, you could take out two screws and soak the brush to remove product. The screws are now rivets. The instructions say when product builds up to wipe it off with a damp cloth. That doesn't work very well at all. This is another case of "new and improved" for the worse. I haven't found a better hot brush, so I am using it, just wish they had left the old design alone! At least take the advertising off the package that says the brush is removable
Right size, right heat for fine straight hair

My old vidal sassoon hot brush was great, but it finally died. I was using a Revlon hot brush, but it didn't get hot enough to curl my hair; the barrel was too big and the air flow blew my fine hair off the barrel. This Helen of Troy is just the right diameter to curl my straight hair (between chin & shoulder-length). The heat is enough to curl without burning, and the air flow isn't so strong that my hair flies around. I love it & wish I hadn't spent $26 on the Revlon.

This brush does the trick. Just what I needed for this fine hair with a cowlick to boot. The cowlick does not part off like it used to. And it gives my hair more body.

I love, love, love this dryer/curler. It gives my medium length hair the smoothness that I want without burning it. I learned about it from my sister who has her hair done at a high class salon in Atlanta.

This brush is wonderful for fine straight hair. It gives my hair twice the body of any hot hair brush I have tried, and I have tried them all.

I have an average amount of baby fine hair worn in a wedge. I want some volume and I want to get ready quick! This has been the BEST curling iron/dryer I have found. I tried about 3 others before I found this and like it so well I have it in 2 sizes and recently ordered 4 more of the one I can't live without. I have no complaints!!It doesn't eat your hair and and mine has never shut off from overheating.
