Product Rating: 5 The single best hair styling item ever! MUST HAVE!
Reviewer: Michelle from Bourbonnais, IL  Mon Jun 08 2009

My hairdresser introduced me to this flat iron and my life has changed dramatically! I have fine but very straight hair (I am asian) and nothing does what this iron does! I am able to use this as a curling iron, straightening iron and just about everything in between. The iron heats up fast and goes to 390 degrees which is what I need to put any life into my hair. The iron is easy to use and durable which is a major plus. I have never seen such a versatile iron before and this website had the best prices on the internet! I spent the most on this iron as I have ever spent on a hair appliance and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. I use this almost on a daily basis. It is easily transported and comes with a storage bag. I absolutely love love love this product.

Product Rating: 2 Big disappointment

Maybe the HAI Tong iron works well to straighten hair, but it did absolutely nothing to curl my hair as the description said it would. I tried everything I could think of: moving it slowly through the hair to give it more time to set which created funny little jerky marcel waves, curling it around it iron itself which made kinks, and holding for a long time on the ends which did a good job of frying the hair and making splits.

I'm going back to a regular curling iron which is what I should have bought in the first place. Thank goodness for Folica's return policy.

Product Rating: 5 Happily Surprised...
Reviewer: Yvette Babcan from Toronto, Ontario, Canada  Fri May 01 2009

I was happily surprised by this iron/tong. It quickly turned my long hair from frizzy/curly to straight, silky and shiny...in record time. You have the option of flipping your hair up, or curling it under as you straighten. Unlike regular flat irons, it has the ability to give you a bit of lift at the roots giving the illusion of a blow dry rather than that completely flat against your head -- I just used a flat iron look. I'm wondering if I'm going to have much use for my T3 straightener (which I also love) anymore...

Product Rating: 5 Great Performer - I used it for 1-2 years
Reviewer: Vaunda Noerenberg from Atlanta, GA  Sun Jul 20 2008

I was skeptical at first of the crescent-curved tong/iron but found it so easy to use without burning fingers or skin. It imparted a great shine. I was totally hooked after less than one week. Recently, I accidentally jerked the cord (virtually tripping over it) and apparently broke the connecting wires inside the cord assembly. I would think you could replace the cord, as it is a modular unit. I truly appreciated the controlled temperature settings and the quick warm-up and cool-down; as well as - especially! the gloss-effect on normal naturally curly hair (shines the "nap")for the fringe/bangs. I agree with others that it lasts like no other! No other implement I have owned (or has been used on my hair) has been this easy or effective (Outstanding performer)(and only 55 watts!if you remember to turn it off when done! ;-).

this is a great tool, I am a hairdresser in orange park FL, and alot of my clients really enjoy the change of soft Beachy waves as opposed to the flat iron that is so common now a days. I find it easy to use and it does so many different things.

Product Rating: 5 LOVE IT!!!!!
Reviewer: Angelina from Jacksonville Florida  Mon May 12 2008

My hair dresser used this on my hair and I loved it. I knew I wanted my own. I have naturally curly hair but don't like having frizz. I rubbed a little heat protection flat iron stuff on the ends after washing my hair, let my hair air dry, then use the tong. It leaves my hair silky, soft, and with big beautiful curls. I definitely recommend this product. I was iffy about purchasing it versus an expensive curling iron but I am so happy I spent the money on this. I just hope it lasts awhile.

I had it used on me by my stylist. Then she tried to sell me one for $200.00 and told me it was a special deal. That night I found it here for a way better price. It shipped fast and I love it. Its every thing i wanted, at a price that i could afford. Thank you!

I have two of these irons. I love them. I love that its rounded. It makes it easy to make my curly hair super straight. I also can flip the ends if I want to.
The iron gets really hot, very fast...I totally suggest this one!

Product Rating: 5 CURVED FLAT IRON
Reviewer: Melissa from HB, CA  Fri Dec 21 2007

This product is great! My hands have problems, so it's much easier to use than a regular curling iron, to acheive the same results. Folica is the only place to carry this item, and it was at a great price!

Product Rating: 3 My opinion about my tong iron
Reviewer: maria trevino from mexico  Mon Sep 24 2007

I wanted to comment that i'm very satisfied with the way i'm able to iron my hair and the result that I get, but their seems to be a flaw with the mechanisem. I'm normally able to close the iron to used on my hair, but it dosn't open it self automatically. So I have to use my hands in order to open propertly to used again in my hair.

Product Rating: 5 What a GREAT easy to use iron!
Reviewer: Deborah from DFW, TX  Fri Sep 07 2007

I am thrilled with my purchase so far of the HAI eLite Tong Ionic Iron. I have only had it a little less than 30days. I have had my Chi flat iron for a few years now and I was never able to get the results I really needed or got when I was in the salon chair. At my last visit to the salon my hairdresser pulled this iron out. I quickly said - Where do you get one of those and what is it called? I have very thick and course hair. I was against using all those products on it and WOW using this just keeps me from having too. I am recently married and my husband Loves the way this iron works on my hair. If this one functions and last long I will be ultimately thrilled for sure!

My only disappointment is I went on to make my review and found it $20 dollars cheaper. That always upsets you when you are a new client. Just when you buy it, its another 20 less. ;-(
But everyone that needs to straighten their hair. Especially if it is course, and thick! Awesome!
Thanks!

Product Rating: 5 Amazing!!! Everyone should have one.

Product Rating: 2 Emma from Dallas Again!
Reviewer: Emma from Dallas, Texas  Thu Jul 05 2007

I am writing this review out of frustration. I liked using this iron however I didnt use it frequently. I tried to use it last week and it wouldnt heat up at all. Called to get a replacement but since its been a 14 months they wont replace it and neither will the manufacturer. I have to either ship it to CA to get it fixed (more money) or buy a new one. Not value for money especially for someone who doesnt use it regularly. I probably got 12-15 uses out of it.

Product Rating: 2 Not at all worth it
Reviewer: Kerri from Houston, TX  Wed May 30 2007

I bought this iron thinking it would be exactly what I was looking for. I use the straight iron to flip my hair under and I thought this would be just perfect, but....when I use it it leaves my hair rough, not at all smooth and it looks horrible. Not to mention, like most of the others, my hair gets caught in the plates and pulls. This iron is a total waste of money.

Product Rating: 3 Not really bad but..
Reviewer: Sarah Oserbis   Sun Apr 29 2007

I got this straightener because my friends all LOVE Hai but I guess I made a mistake of buying this type. At first, it wasn't so bad, and I was actually pleased with the results but after a few weeks, I noticed the cord was getting incredibly tangly all the time and the iron was making my hair damaged. I encourage you NOT to buy this HAI straightener but another type instead.

Product Rating: 4 Love it!! But...
Reviewer: Kat from Raleigh, NC  Fri Apr 20 2007

I bought this Tong to replace my other one when it broke. The first one I had was great - had a nice weight to it, hair was smooth and lasted, heated quickly, just wonderful. I had it for 3 years and I dropped it a million times. The last time I dropped it, did it in. A small piece of plastic holding the plate broke and it died.
But my replacement... not so much. *sigh* It still does my hair great, but it has a problem with my hair catching between the plates and the handle. I have to be extra careful not to get my hair close to the edges. And it is a little lighter than my last one.
Still a fabulous iron, but whatever "improvements" they made, just were not worth it. I expect that stuff from a cheaper iron, not HAI.

Product Rating: 4 Wow!
Reviewer: Sunshine from Queens, New York  Wed Apr 18 2007

My daughter has thick, long naturally wavy hair and this iron is great on her head. I will never have to put a chemical-straightner in her head :) However, I still have to use the Sedu Nano to get close to her edges.
I am currently sporting a short relaxed bob, and this iron is great for my longer section, however, I have to use the Sedu Revolution Nano to get to the shorter layers.

I have had it almost a month & it has malfunction . . .

Product Rating: 3 Better than a traditional ceramic flat iron, BUT...
Reviewer: Brittany from San Diego, CA  Mon Jan 08 2007

While I can say that the results from using the Tong Iron are better than when I used my HAI flat iron, the Tong has tiny spaces on either end of the ceramic plates that catch hair...and pull it out. Even when I am being very careful, I can't seem to avoid my hair catching on th eplates (and it hurts). That said, my hair looks great...people have been been commenting since the first time I used it. No pain, no gain...

Product Rating: 5 EXCELLENT!
Reviewer: Michelle H from Mishawaka, Indiana  Mon Jan 08 2007

The HAI ELITE TONG is probably the best hair tool I have ever purchased & worth every penny! In my opinion, it replaced the CHI flat iron & most every other curling iron out there. You can do anything from straighten, curl, flip to root lift & more with this wonderful iron. AWESOME!!!
