I have been growing out my hair for about 4 months now. I have about 2-3 inches of newgrowth and about 4 inches of relaxed hair. About 3 weeks ago, I got my open flame pressing comb too hot and burnt my hair. All of it didn't fall out, but that was definitely my last straw. I then decided to wear hats the whole time, because I didn't know how else to straighten it. My friend straightened my hair with her CHI flat iron, but it felt really hard and looked really dry. I decided to try the Hai brand and I love the Digistik Elite. It took my half afro to straight, sleek and shiney. I definitely think this will work great for anyone with hard to manage hair. I straightened mines with the temp at 370F and was able to get really close to straighten the hair near my scalp. I am so speechless because I normally have dry hair, but not anymore!

I have been using HAI flat irons for years and I am a very satisfied customer but I gotta say that the eLite Digistick is AMAZING. It's light and the perfect tool to use everyday. You don't have to worry about damaging your hair.

I love my new HAI flat iron. It's the best tool that I have purchased thus far. I used it on my friends with different hair types and it works well. I would recommend this product.

After a few years of using pretty decent Sedu straigtner it finally stop working. After reading all the rave reviews about this Hai straightner I thought I would give it a try. I have relatively healthy shiney straight hair with a lot of volume so I only use the straightner to flatten out some of the volume. This straightner is okay at that but is NOT worth the price. It makes my hair more dull and the digital temperture control is not that reliable so its hard to control the heat setting that you want. Overall I was not impressed with the results. Plus it's heavier then some other straigtners I have used in the past. If you like Hai straightners then get a more inexpensive model otherwise I recommend Sedu straightners.

I purchased this iron about a month ago. I bought this iron because my hairstylist uses a flat iron to curl my hair, and I wanted to achieve the same results. I already owned an older HAI flat iron, with wider plates, but my iron never made my hair as shiney nor would it curl as my hairstylist did. I took a chance on this iron, and I am so happy that I did. My hair has shine is is smooth. Having a smaller plates, it also allows me to curl, flip, and flick my hair into a nice molded style. I personally believe that it is a bit pricey; however, I also believe that it is worth every penny that I paid.

I have used this product for a couple weeks and am actually going to send it back because I am not happy with it and it is frying my hair. I know it is not the user because I bought a Tourmaline and it is working great.

This iron is great! It is truly the best I have ever used, and I have tried tons. Sorry, I have to disagree with Cheryl from L.A., I found this iron to be much better than the HAI convertible. It curls and flips so much easier, and it is also infused with tourmaline, which makes your hair much shinier and smoother. It heats up super fast, and the plates actually get darker when it is hot so you know it is 100% ceramic. It straightens my hair so much faster than the convertible, and it feels much healthier. I curled my hair with it for the first time yesterday, and it only took 15 min to do loose spirals in my very long course hair, and the curls stayed all day! It used to take me an hour with a curling iron, and the curls would fall within 1 or 2 hours. I can't say enough about this iron. A++++

This is a great straightening iron hands down, and HAI really does make excellent styling tools (including their ceramic brushes I also recommend). I've been a fan for years, but keep reading. I had the HAI ceramic convertible straightening iron with blue plates (A8459) before I bought this one. This eLite one is not any better than that one and is possibly more annoying and also double the price. When you turn on this one, since it's digital, it automatically starts at some default temperature instead of remembering what you set it on before.
It's a better idea to just buy the blue plated one they also make for half the price, with a little bigger plate and the ability to remember the preferred temperature setting. The actual straightening performance is EXACTLY the same, and if i could turn back time, I would have just bought the same one again and say splurged on brushes or something. This one is not a value, but the convertible A8459 is.

Okay so I haven't tried this straightener yet.......I am thinking about buying it. I am white and i have very very thick frizzy hair and I was also looking in chi straighteners. I keep looking and looking but I dont know which one is right for me i heard chi straighteners break and some dry out your hair. I want a straightener that makes my hair smooth, straight, and silky. Please help me in either telling me about another straightener thats best for me or if this is the right one for me..........???

I just recently purchased the Hai. Although, I was little put off by the cost and 1" measurement I'm glad I made the purchase. I can straighten my hair with less heat and fewer passes. The Hai holds very naturally in my hand as I straighten my hair. It leaves my hair moisturized not dry. I love the look of it. But, the deciding factor was the low EMF(less chance of cancer or leukemia from using this product). I want to look good, but not at the cost of my health. I'm african-american with relaxed hair. So, using a product that requires less heat to chemically treated hair is great.

I was in New York for publicity shots over the weekend and all the hairstylists used this iron on my hair. My hair is straight, but a bit wavy because it's thick and has a lot of body. I have the Hot Tools iron--wide plate and unwieldy--also, it snags and pulls my hair--painful! This wand, while small, is flexible to get at small sections of hair, yet fast and powerful, so it straightens my entire head of hair in 10 minutes. My hair feels silky smooth and it lasted 3 days. I was blown away and had to buy one right away.

The best iron and I have tried them all. My hair is in so much better condition since I have been using this. It does not break the hair and my hair is much straighter, silkier and shinier.
