Great flat iron until it broke

I understand that all irons will eventually break but i paid near $200 and it lasted one year and 2 months...of course out of range of warranty. I use it approx. once a week and i dont use it on the highest temp. It just stopped turning on one day. Its great but if you are paying that much it should last you in my opinion at least 2 years. I have had revlon and conair flat irons that have lasted longer than this which is just sad. In my opinion not worth the money.
Best in the Industry

Pro- heats up quickly. It's nano plate technology makes it the best flat iron in the industry- helps to seal the hair cuticles to protect hair color (especially if died/treated).
Con- I wish I bought both the 1'' and 2'' plates.
Overall Review- For course hair, I highly recommend this product. It straightens your hair with ion AND nano technology, which makes it less damaging to the hair.
I do not find the item worth the cost..

My hair is just below the my shoulders it is coarse, thick and wavey.
I do like how quickly the iron heats up.
Although it does take longer for me to strighten my hair then the $ 45 iron I picked up on Sale 2 years ago.
This iron only 1" wide the less expensive brand was 3" and felt sturder in my hand.
Thank you for asking for my input...

This is a good flat iron. Better than generic store brands, but overall not really worth the high price tag!

I was expecting to have straight silk hair but instead I got puffy course hair. This strengthener does not work it leaves your hair feeling course and tangled. I went to my hair dresser so she could rate this iron, so we sectioned my hair into three sections and straightened it with three different irons. We used my HAI eLite Digistick Ceramic Iron, her HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron, and my sister’s Remington T Studio Tourmaline-Ceramic Wide Plate Straightener. The HAI eLite Digistick Ceramic Iron did the poorest even my sisters $30 Remington left my hair straighter and silkier. The HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron did the best it straightened my hair faster and left it silky. Do not buy this iron it is a waist of money.
Just ok

I've been using the chi flat iron for years and was very satisfied. Wanted to try something new. The HAI looks great, I liked the vibrant colors. It felt really light which is good, but at the same time it felt like something cheap. Also, it did not reach very high temperature so it didn't work as expected. I returned it and exchanged it for the chi.
Excellent product

I've wanted one of these for a long time because my hairstylist uses one on me and it always makes my hair so shiny and smooth and straight, which is always a good change from my natural wavy, frizzy, coarse hair. I've been using a 1" Solia for the past year with good results but finally I just upgraded to the Hai Digistick and it's like a dream come true. It definitely straightens as well as the Solia, but it doesn't seem to need as many passes to do it (I can get as much accomplished with 1 pass with the Digistik that I did with 2-3 passes with the Solia). Both straighteners made my hair shiny and silky, but the digistik made it even more so. The digitstik is about double the price of the Solia, but it does do a slightly better job.
I have a new love and it's name is Hai

I have been using the sapphire 2" hair straightener for five plus years now and finally decided to upgrade. This appliance is the single best purchase i think i have ever made as far as hair care is concerned. i have fine hair that's on the thin side but it has a strong wave to it, especially in the back. the sapphire did a good job straightening but the wave would return the minute i walked outside regardless of the weater. this straightens my hair quicker, easier, is lighter and easier to maneuver and my hair STAYS STRAIGHT. this is a feat in itself. also i was afraid of buying a straightener that didn't have combs on the side. i thought my hair would need that extra tension to pull it straight but i was wrong. this straightener straightens like magic without the combs. and it really does make your hair feel softer and look shinier. and being able to set the precise temperature is great for bangs, etc. SIMPLY AMAZING. worth the money, guaranteed. you will not be disappointed.

The Hai Digistick heats instantly and can be set to the exact temperature for your hair type. It is extremely lightweight, and I don't think it's my imagination, but my hair becomes extremely shiny and soft after using the Digistick. I did have to return it because I accidentally ordered this one instead of the Tong which has curved ceramic plates. Customer service was wonderful about the exchange and I am very happy with my new Hai Tong.

This is the best straightening iron I have ever had. My naturally curly hair stays straight all day, even through light rain/mist ! It is like a miracle product...normally straightening my hair resulted in frizz or partially curly if it was humid. Not so with this bad boy. I live in western NY and can't wait to see how awesome it is in Florida. Worth every penny.
DO NOT BUY

i bought this product after alot of research and reading many product reviews. I was so excited to get this new HAI straighner as previously i was using the pink coricollis..and i loved it. However, i gave that away and i thought of purchasing one thats new in the market so i bought the new HAI. I have used it several times and i honestly do not like it...it doesnt leave you hair smooth, doesn't straighten hair leaves a very rough feeling almost like you hair needs to be brushed. would not recommend this product to anyone.

I have VERY curly hair and the only thing that has ever striaghtend my hair was the hot comb that sits on the stove! The Digistick is the bomb! Some days my hair is so curly that it may take upto 90 mins. to do but it's the best I wouldn't trade it for anything. This is an AWESOME product!

I have very curly hair, and we had purchased many straighteners in regular beauty supply stores, but NOTHING WORKED! Sure my hair would become semi-straight, but hey, we ALL want that super straight SLEEK look!
Anyway, this straightener is amazing! My mom and I used to share one, but I recently went off to University and we had NO hesitation in purchasing a second one! The only flaw? umm... it's price! haha

I had the 2 1/2" HAI for years and just recently got a shorter haircut - so I purchased the 1" HAI eLite Digistick. It is the best. I have tried other brands and truly believe that you will never go wrong with a HAI. This one is particularly light weight and heats up so fast. You will not be disappointed.

Greatest flat Iron I have used to date

This flat iron is amazing. I have relaxed African American hair and after a shower or in grow out phazes, my hair is still nappy and most flat irons cause damage, esp. when used on hair that is already chemically relaxed. However, I have been using this one for over a month and my hair actually looks better and long in the short month. The straighting effects last until the next time I get my hair wet again and even sweat does not penetrate it. Additionally, the size of the Digistik is perfect for getting the little kinks close to the edges and curling under a quick bang in the front.
Sorry I don't have any pictures available to put up at this time, but definately, this flat iron is worth the money and I have used a LOT of flat irons before as most of my friends are hairstylist. I am getting them to switch too!

I have tried many irons including Magic Ionic many times only to spend TONS of money and have the cord break just a few months after the warranty expired.
This iron straightens and makes hair silky smooth. Way better than any Magic Ionic or any iron I have ever used! I highly reccomend it. I bought one after reading many reviews on Folica.com on many different irons and this one is definitley worth the money, like many of the reviews I read stated.
The digital thermometer is great too for all hair types. It heats up in seconds! Spend the extra money. It's worth it and you will never think twice about buying another brand except this one!!!

I love this iron! I have thick curly hair and this makes the job so much easier. I've tried other irons infrashine, chi and this is my favorite! The handle and shape of the iron makes it comfortable to hold as you work through you hair. Truly an excellent product!!

I was using the $79 HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron for about 4 years until the swivel portion of the cord caused a malfunction, so I started to shop for a new straight iron.
I have very curly hair that gets very frizzy in the high humidity in which I live.
After shopping around, I decided to purchase the HAI eLite Digistick with infrared. I LOVE IT!!! Even though I iron at the full 380 degrees, my hair does not fry - it looks sleek and shiny and it stays that way all day long!!!
The first straightener I owned, which I mentioned above, HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron, seemed to fry the ends of my hair and made my hair look dried out. In addition, the wand was wider and harder to handle.
I would definitely recommend spending the extra money for this straightener, the HAI eLite Digistick.
I have un-relaxed African-American hair.

I have been growing out my hair for about 4 months now. I have about 2-3 inches of newgrowth and about 4 inches of relaxed hair. About 3 weeks ago, I got my open flame pressing comb too hot and burnt my hair. All of it didn't fall out, but that was definitely my last straw. I then decided to wear hats the whole time, because I didn't know how else to straighten it. My friend straightened my hair with her CHI flat iron, but it felt really hard and looked really dry. I decided to try the Hai brand and I love the Digistik Elite. It took my half afro to straight, sleek and shiney. I definitely think this will work great for anyone with hard to manage hair. I straightened mines with the temp at 370F and was able to get really close to straighten the hair near my scalp. I am so speechless because I normally have dry hair, but not anymore!
Sorry, but the photos I took are too large to show.
