Product Rating: 2 At first pleased - now disappointed
Reviewer: Sandra from san diego, ca  Sun Jul 13 2008

At first, despite the price i felt was very high for a hair dryer, I was quite pleased with it's performance. It seemed to dry my hair much quicker, and keep it in better condition.

However, within a few short months of using it, the product shorted out and stopped working. I had not sent in the warranty, as I've had hair dryers for many years that never stopped working so did not anticipate problems.

I went back to the hair salon where I had bought it - they told me I could ship it back. I may try - but after reading other reviews here from others with similar issues - that this is a high priced, unreliable product - not worth the $. Disappointing.

Product Rating: 4 Better than I expected!
Reviewer: Jo from Maryland  Thu Nov 15 2007

I bought this with the hopes that it would dry my hair in a short amount of time and not allow frizzies. I got exactly what I asked for! The only complaint I have about this product is where the on/off button is located. It is on the handle right where I squeeze my fingers to hold the dryer when in use. EVERY time, I turn it off accidentally and then have to re-adjust my hands to hold it a different way. Other than that, I give this dryer an ABOVE AVERAGE rating!

Product Rating: 2 dryer heat just stopped
Reviewer: Trilby from CA  Tue Sep 25 2007

The nice thing about this dryer is the shape. asy on your hands and arm. was diligent in cleaning the filter as I have experience with dryers........dog grooming. This dryer just stopped heating ......it still has power but less than usual and has no heat. I paid a lot more for this dryer and feel it is not worth the price. I have very old precious dryers that I used for many years and they still work.

Product Rating: 5 This hair dryer is worth the money!!!!
Reviewer: Stephanie from Eagle River, AK  Wed Apr 25 2007

I just got this hair dryer last week and it is amazing!! I was very bervous about spending $100+ dollars on a hair dryer, but I am so happy I did. I have straight, color treated hair. I was not liking how my $10.00 Revlon dryer was making my already stressed hair feel dry and frizzy. This hair dryer makes my hair sooooooo soft. There is absolutely NO frizz and NO flyaways. I even used this on my 5 year olds very healthy hair and this dryer made a huge difference in how soft and healthy her hair feels!!! I have not had to deep condition my hair since I bought this dryer!!! My hair is definitely no longer dry and friizy.
I read comments about the weight, I don't agree. I feel no difference in weight and I have had no problems with the placement of the control buttons. This dryer is totally worth the money, plus there is a one year warranty.

Product Rating: 2 The product lasted just under 2 years with little use
Reviewer: Anonymous from Clearwater, Florida  Sun Apr 22 2007

The positive point on this dryer is that it is light. I noticed only a slight difference in the texture of my hair after using a drugstore brand, non-ceramic, ionic dryer. I purchased this just under 2 years ago and it stopped working completely about a month ago. When I purchased it from this site the price was higher $129.95. It was okay as far as performance while it lasted but not worth the price at all.

Product Rating: 1 shorted 3 times!!
Reviewer: Barbara from Charlotte, NC  Thu Apr 19 2007

I purchased this dryer approx. 1 year ago and in that time, I have had to send this product back to the HAI 3 times at my own expense. This dryer has shorted/died on me 3 different times (3 different dryers) and the last time it actually sparked with a slight flame! Please do not waste your time or money on this prodcut.

Product Rating: 1 Worst Dryer for Wavy Hair
Reviewer: anonymous   Sun Apr 15 2007

If you have thick wavy hair, do not buy this dryer. If may be okay for people with straight hair who don't want to damage their hair, but if you're goal is straightening your hair this dryer won't cut it. It took me forever to dry/straighten my hair with marginal results. It was like using a cheap blow drier.

Product Rating: 3 Not what I expected
Reviewer: Monique from Southern California  Wed Nov 01 2006

I thought that this dryer would do wonders for my hair, but it did as a regular hair dryer. I am not satisfied because I paid way too much for a dryer that does what a cheaper one would have done. I am sending it back.

Product Rating: 2 WAY TOO HEAVY!
Reviewer: Sarah from Santa Monica, CA  Wed Sep 20 2006

I'm sorry but anybody who actually claims this dryer is great, must be a macho muscle woman. I bought this and it was way way way way TOO HEAVY there is NO way that I could hold that thing up to my hair longer than maybe 2 or 3 minutes. I had to stop using the dryer and switch to my SUPER SOLANO to finish the job. I don't recommend this dryer at all! Try the SUPER SOLANO if you are on a tighter budget, but the T3 if you have the money, BOTH ARE AWESOME!

Product Rating: 5 Great hair dryer.
Reviewer: Lk   Thu Jun 29 2006

This is a great hair dryer. Sometimes I hear something rattling inside but it dries my hair way faster, although sometimes the heat setting is too hot. All-around a fantastic purchase.

Product Rating: 5 Good choice for lower price Tourmaline dryer!
Reviewer: Shelby from Georgia  Fri Apr 28 2006

I have thick, wavy hair with lots of breakages from too much flat ironing. Normally after I blow dry my hair is a giant poof ball. Not anymore with this Hai! I really recommend this dryer if you want to have the benefits of an ionic dryer (shinier, softer hair) without the huge huge price tag. I was worried about wasting my money so this dryer seemed to be a good choice. I am so glad I bought it. The first day I brought it home I was so excited that I actually blew cold air on my already dry hair. As weird as it sounds, my frizz instantly started calming down. I had even better results when I used it after I washed my hair. The drying time really is faster. It takes me 20 minutes or more to blow dry my thick, wavy hair with my $20 Vidal sassoon ionic dryer. It took me 11 minutes with this on the WARM setting (not hot), and my hair was so much more softer and shiny. Instead of having a poof of hair I got the same results with 11 minutes of blow drying that I did with 20 min of blow drying and 20 minutes of flat ironing with cheaper tools. If too much volume and poof is a problem for you like it is for me than with this blow dryer you have to actually TRY to get volume: you can just point it at your head and do nothing and your hair will lie flat! The cons are I notice it was easy to hit the cold shot button while you're drying, but if you move your hand slightly down you won't have that problem. Also, it seems like it gets slightly less hot than the Hai Ionic Elite model (which my hair stylist uses), but since it still gave me such good results I don't mind (and it costs less!). It smelled a little weird when I first turned it on, but I think that's just the factory smell. I think you should run it a few times (say 1-3 minutes) on the cold setting just to get it going. I'm really pleased with this product.

Product Rating: 3 handle is to big for females
Reviewer: jules from Boulder, Co  Tue Apr 04 2006

I have large hands for a female , the "grip" design is really wide a road to carpel tunnel or some internal hand discomfort .
it does not seem this was taken into consideration for a female hand or smaller hand .
The "cold shot " is a bit slow to activate as well .
I would vote for a re-design of the handle , other then that I thingk it is a wonderful dryer. but due to the handle I will not be keeping it long and onto another style for comfort, before my hands start to give me a problem .

Product Rating: 4 Overpriced, but good results
Reviewer: Wendy   Mon Jan 23 2006

This hair dryer does cut down on drying time. It took me 15-20 minutes to dry my hair with a regular hair dryer, and between 5-8 minutes with the Tourmaline. Initially, I did see good results in terms of fly-aways, and reducing the "frizz" affect that regular drying produces, but I still need to go over my hair with a straightener to get that super-sleek straightened look. The dryer is a bit overpriced, especially since it work similar to $30 Conair dryers that can be found at the drugstore.

Product Rating: 5 Loved it!
Reviewer: Jessica   Thu Jan 12 2006

Two months ago I was looking for a hairdryer to purchase that wouldn't completely destroy my hair. Before I had just been straightening my hair when it air dryed with a flat iron, my hairdresser started to hate me. So, I researched hairdryers and bought this one. I LOVE IT! Not only is it lightweight and easy to use but it only takes me 15 minutes to dry my hair, when it took me 25 to straighten it! My hair is a lot healthier as well.

Product Rating: 3 didn't see a difference
Reviewer: Susauna from Las Vegas  Thu Jan 12 2006

I found that there was no difference with the ionic dryer compared to my regular dryer....I wanted to stop the static that was occuring when I blow dry straight....so I thought an ionic dryer would do the trick...It did not. Not impressed with the dryer.

Product Rating: 4 Great Hair Dryer
Reviewer: Jennifer from Franklin, VA  Thu Jan 05 2006

I love this hair dryer. It isn't heavy and easy to handle. My hair is super smooth and glossy.

Product Rating: 4 Did what it claims.....
Reviewer: Denise from utah  Wed Jan 04 2006

It actually made my hair TOO soft and made it more difficult to get lasting curls in my hair and when I wore my hair straight, it felt limp. So, this product didn't work for me personally. However, I also bought one for my mom and she LOVES it. It softens her hair and smooths her flyaways. She also feels like it cuts down her drying time down.

Product Rating: 1 Out of box it started to smoke!
Reviewer: Beth from Austin, TX  Wed Nov 23 2005

This product is a disaster. Obviously I got a faulty one as it started to smoke immediately after I turned it on. Didn't work at all, and I was afraid of fire. Haven't had time to return it yet, but if there's trouble with that, I'll be sure to post my experiences! First experience with this company or product.

Product Rating: 5 Awesome Hairdryer
Reviewer: Anonymous from Lutherville, Maryland  Tue Nov 15 2005

I purchased the HAI Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Hair Dryer because I heard that the Ions would be good for my hair and I had bought a flat iron from you with ions that was awesome too, so I thought I would give it a go!!!! Awesome, what a difference from my old hairdryer. I have fine, long , delicate hair. It does not dry it out as my old dryer did and gives me more body and lift. Drying time is virtually cut in half. I love it. It is not heavy or cumbersome.

Product Rating: 5 Is it True!
Reviewer: L. Turin from Connecticut  Sat Nov 12 2005

This blow dryer is different from what you are used too. I love the way it goes from hot to cool. It actually gives your hair time to recover from the heat blasting on your hair. The cool air seems to set the style in place. The only draw back is that theirs no instruction with the dryer. There's a red and blue button and it's not clear how to use them. I guess I just figured it out based on the way my hair reacted.
