Great product! I just purchase my 2nd one! Not because of defect or fault, but because of my error! Couldn't live without it!

This is a really good flat iron for the first year or so. Once it comes close to the 2nd year the cord stops working. You have to wiggle it to get it to work and sometimes it just wont light up anymore. This is the 2nd one that it happens to. My mom is a stylist and same thing happened to hers, we thought it was a bad batch but no. Its just what happens with the iron.
It does its work amazingly. I just wish it would last longer then 2 years.
does exactly what it's advertised to do

This is my first pricey flat iron and so far so good! It was recommended to me by a stylist that loves it! I like that it doesn't take very long at all to heat up and it works nice & quick. My hair is fairly straight w/o the use of it but with it my hair is shinier and looks like I just came out of the salon! Enjoy!
The best!

The Hai Convertible is absolutely the best straightner I have ever used! It heats up so quickly and does not dry my hair out. I definetly reccommend it to anyone with thick curly hair it will really work!

I am a teenage boy. As a Mexican, my hair is thick and wavy. I decided to get a HAI flat iron because my hair stylist uses it on me whenever I see her. I come from using a cheap Remington straightener that I got from wal-mart. I used to always think "why should I pay 70+ dollars for a hair straightener when I can pick one up at the store for fifteen?." Boy, was I wrong. The Remington would look O.K. after coming out of the bathroom but I realized that after coming home from school, my hair was thick, wavy, and it would be really bulky in the back.(trust me, volume doesn't look good on guys.) Ever since I got the HAI flat iron, my hair has been thin and straight! I love the fact that it has blue plates because I think that black or gold plates are dull. I was so afraid that my straightener wouldn't stand the test of sweat from Gym Class, but after changing back to my normal clothes, my hair was still straight! an throughout the day it was too! My dad calls me an Asian now because of the straightness of my hair. hahahaha
I really do like this straightener and hope it doesn't crap out on me like the other reviewers' did. I'll take good care of it!
Good while the ceramic coating lasted

I bought this flat iron almost exactly seven months ago from this website and up until about a few weeks ago, it was the best flat iron I had ever bought. It made my hair super straight and silky with little frizz so I was happy with the product that I had bought from this website. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I was starting to notice my hair wasn't straightening as well and looking frizzy and couldn't figure out why. Then I looked at the flat iron plates, I realized that the ceramic coating was chipping/wearing off! The iron is only used once a day and turned off once I am done straightening my hair so I have no idea why this would be happening. I don't know if I got a defective flat iron, I would think that it should last longer than seven months.
Can't live without it!!

I have owned this one for less than a year. The only problem I've ever had is my sister and roommate keep stealing it because they too love it soo much. My hair is pretty long and frizzy. I only have to go over each section once and my hair is straight and ultra soft. I use this in combonation with Big Straight Sexy Hair Smooth & Seal, which is also a great product. This is such a great flatiron and is much better than the 10 or so others I have tried over the years.
Excellent for very curly hair

I have bee using this flat iron for a few years now and it works very well on my extremely curly, thick hair. I recently took it with me to Europe, using a converter plug, but unfortunately I fried the wires inside the iron and had to replace it. Expensive mistake.
Only great for SHORT TERM use!!!

When I first purchased the Hai Convertable, I LOVED IT!! I thought it was the best straightener I had ever used and I was happy to finally have found a straightener that REALLY straightened my hair and left it soft and shiny! Then about 6-7 months later, the blue coating started chipping off (and I only used it about 3x a week). I was able to get a replacement. About 6 months (again) after my replacement, I started noticing that the plates wouldn't heat up as well and it would not reach the desired heat that I wanted, and of course, the blue coat started chipping again. I was soooo frustrated!!! Overall, it's a great straightener for about 6 months. After that, even with good proper care of it, it just breaks down on you. So if you are willing to replace it every 6 months, then go for it!! If not, do not buy this straightener!!!!!
Just received and doesnt work

I ordered this product after reading all the great reviews. I plugged it in and it keeps shutting itself off. When I was able to use it, it didnt feel "tight" enough on my hair and I cant tell a difference from the $30 straightener I got at Sally's a few years ago. I had to run it over my hair a number of times to achieve the desired smooth-ness.
I have to send it back and I will not be getting another.
Great Product Great Price

This is my 2nd HAI. I bought the exact same one about 6yrs ago and finally went out one month before I purchased a replacement. If you take care of it; it will last! There are a few differences. The one I purchased before had a larger plug with a reset button besides that works great
Great deal!!!!

I love HAI flat irons ive used chi( not happy with) would not purchase anything else but HAI again. HAI irons seem to be the best on the market for the price, Folica definatly has the best deal on them.
Works on the coursest hair!

My stylist recommended this product and I couldn't be happier. My hair is thick and course and I've never been able to style it smooth. Until now! The flat iron heats very quickly, is easy to handle, and has an adjustable temperature setting that allowed me to find just what worked on my hair. I'd recommend this to anyone who has battled course hair. Thanks for a great product.
Better than Chi

I had a Chi for 4 years and loved it, however it finally broke. I started using my friend's HAI and liked its results even better. Doesn't catch hair, and the adjustable temperature setting is a great feature. Plus its cheaper.

Every person on here that says it chips or breaks after a month or 4 or 5 must have bought their item elsewhere than folica because this is the best straightener I have ever used on myself and my clients. I 1st bought this flat iron in August of 2005 after I borrowed a friends and fell in love with it. The wiring works great, it hasnt chipped once, and it still has the same heat as the 1st time i used it. The only problem I've had is when I took it to europe and it blew out on me because in europe you use converters and flat irons require too much electricity out there. I thought my flat iron broke but when I brought it home and plugged it in it worked fine. I am now a licensed cosmetologist and own my own salon. I sell the product in my salon and use it on all clients that want a straightening, curling, flipping, or updo service. Its the best product I have ever used to flat iron my own hair and others and I will never think twice about wanting to try a different product. HAI has me sold and i *HAI*ly recommend it!
AWESOME PRODUCT!

I love my HAI convertible flat iron. It not only heats up really fast but puts a shine on my hair that other brands didn't do as well, I can get my hair really straight without much effort too. That really helps as I have a very busy life.......Wouldn't be without it. The cost of the iron is alot less to than other brands offering a similar product. Believe me I did my research before I made a purchase.
A happy customer!

I just love the flat iron, it only takes me about 15 minutes now to do my hair when it used to take me about 45 minutes using a store brand straightner. My hair feel soft and silky and not damaged. I have very coarse and curly hair and this flat iron smoothes it all out. This flat iron works wonders.
There's better...

I used to use this flat iron a couple years ago. I went through about 3 or 4 before I finally started using the Chi. In my opinion, the Chi iron is supeior to this one, and lasts longer. And to the woman who was going to use this in Europe: DON'T! I used it, WITH a converter, and still burnt the hell out of my hair, ending up with a side about 2 inches shorter than the other. Invest in a converter specially made to convert high amounts of volts/power. Wish I did.
