Breaks easily

I just got my hai, and it worked great, but the 2nd TIME i went to use it, i dropped it and boom it broke.....i dont know why, but the plate came loose and it wouldnt turn on....DONT DROP IT

I've had this straightener almost 3 years..it's probably been a bit longer than that.It's never started heating weird, it gets my hair silky straight. At first i had trouble with it, because i didn't know quite how to use it. And it didn't leave my hair in the best condition but i always assumed that it was because of the straightener, but i bought better products, changed how i straighten my hair, and my hair is PERFECT. i love it, it gets it so smooth. I think a lot of people's problem with it not getting their hair very straight probably has to do with the product they're using. because i have RIDICULOUSLY curly hair, and this straightener even works for me. So i don't see how it couldn't work for someone else.

i used it for about a year(it was a gift) then one morning it began doing this weird were it would turn of by itself then a few weeks after that it just died on me.overall it was ok but i wont be buying another anytime soon.

I bought this straightener 4 year ago and it just now broke (because of the wiring). I used it almost every day, and all my friends who used it were jealous and liked it better than their own. I've tried TONS of straighteners and this is by far the best. I came back on this website after 4 years, not surprised by the great reviews! I'm about to order the exact same one!! It is definitely worth the money!

i got my hai about six years ago if not more and i still use the exact same one. this thing is durable. i can't count how many times it's been dropped...i usually keep it on a lower shelf and someone always seems to knock it over.. it still heats up within seconds, i straighten my hair often and it gives a nice shine to my hair (doesn't burn, and that's without heat protector, my hair is not damaged either, when i go into a salon i always get comments on how healthy it is). needless to say, the quality is great and i'd recommend it to anyone.
p.s. if you find your iron to not turn on for no reason, it may be because the "test" button on the plug was pushed and you need to press "reset" before plugging back in. just a tip...lol

Seriously I cant complain at all in takes me only 20 minutes to iron all my hair and I have a lot of hair.
I live in Florida so its very humid but my hair stays straight. Nobody even knows my hair is not straight.
Worth it!

I bought my flat iron about 5 years ago and it finally gave out (the wiring). It cost me about $80 back then and I'm happy to say that it served its purpose and it did it well. I'm happy to say that I would buy the same brand again!

Great flatiron. Ordered mine from folica over 3 years ago and it still works like new. Loved mine so much i bought one for my sister a few months later. Her's is still kicking out some great hair too. Would definitely recommend to all.

This is the first flat iron I have bought that was expensive. I bought it for 140.00 a year and 2 months ago. It was amazing until it just died for no reason on me a couple days ago. Now I have no money to buy a nice one and the only reason I bought an expensive one was that I heard they work great and last forever. Now I have to use a 20.00 one and it doesn't even work and takes forever. I am so disappointed. =(

Like I said, it worked great until it gave out on me. I used my HAI for very light, easy straightening. It would maybe take 30 seconds to fix my hair. After 1 year and 3 months though it just up and died, just over the warranty. I did nothing that would have caused this, so I'm a little upset I now have to shell out another $75 for a straightener.

I HAVE TRIED MANY FLAT IRONS AND FROM EXPERIENCE I HAVE FOUND THAT THE HAI CONVERTABLE FLAT IRON IS THE BEST. THE KEY TO A GREAT IRON GIRLS, IS TO MAKE SURE THE PLATES ARE TOUCHING ALL THE WAY AROUND. IF YOU LIGHTLY PRESS THEM TOGETHER AND YOU CAN SEE BETWEEN THEM ANYWHERE THEN THERE IS POOR CONTACT WHICH WILL BURN AND STRIP YOUR HAIR. SO, NO MATTER WHICH BRAND YOU BUY, CHECH THE PLATE CONTACT BEFORE KEEPING IT OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. I RECENTLY PURCHASED ANOTHER HAI AND THE PLATES HAVE A SLIGHT GAP SO I AM RETURNING IT FOR ANOTHER HAI AND IF THOSE PLATES HAVE A GAP I WILL RETURN IT TOO. HOPE THIS HELPS!

I purchased this iron because of the relatively cheap price and the convenient/practical size of the plate (1 1/4inches).
I previously owned a T3 wet-to-dry iron and have to say that so far, this new iron-Hai iron, does a slightly better job for two reasons. One, i noticed much much less hair falls out with this Hai iron then with my previous T3. Second I notice slightly different results - perhaps because the plates are made of different materials. Both give good results, but I like this Hai more because the plate size is convenient, it is super light, the price is affordable, and the wire is extra long - the cord must be 10inches - for sure more than the standard iron's cord.

I never had another kind of flat iron, but I love to work with this one.
the best thing it is the plates do not wrap around and do not burn your fingers!!

I love this flat iron and can’t see myself ever buying another brand. That being said, I have used it for 5 years now and this is my second time replacing it. It would seem to me that they die after about 2 years. It starts by getting very temperamental and only turning on in certain positions, like upside down or at a certain angle. Then, it gets worse and worse until you can’t use it at all. If you expect a flat iron to last longer than that (with everyday use) then you must have higher standards than me. This does not stop me from buying another because I love it so much. The plate width is perfect for straightening or curling your hair and I do both on a regular basis. It is also completely maneuverable and easy to hold. I have used many of my friend’s flat irons and they simply do not compare. Also, as I previously mentioned, I use this every day and it keeps my hair healthy. I have friends who use flat irons every day and their hair is gross and very damaged. I am extremely happy to say that is not me. I would recommend this to anyone.

I have had this flat iron for about 3 years now, if not longer. My hair is super thin, and until now, my hair is silky smooth and shiny. My fiance loves playing with my hair and says loves how soft it feels. I also get many compliments from co workers on my hair. One of the girls at work has super curly thick hair, and she loves this iron as well, whenever she flat irons it, it looks smooth and lasts all dayI definitely recommend this flat iron. I hope I don't jinx myself and it breaks down on me now, but if it did, I would buy it again

I'm a teenager, and I do my hair everyday, and quickly I've had HAI for about 5 years, and it has never made me disappointed. I was about to buy the CHI, but luckily I found out how terrible it was, and realized that I already have the best. And for everyone who thinks this products "gives out" on them, how well do you treat your things, because this is honestly the best of the best.

I ordered this flat iron after reading all the reviews. I have to say it does just what it's suppose to do. I have VERY curly, frizzy hair. HAI flat iron got it so straight and shiny. I was amazed. I used it on my daughter at a lower setting. Her hair came out beautiful. I would recommend this flat iron to anybody. Its worth every penny.

I bought this flat iron on the recommendation of my hair dresser and it was a great buy...it leaves your hair very silky and straight. I highly recommend this product...

I've had 2 of these straighteners...honestly, it is an incredible straightener and works well on everyones hair. The problem is it burns out quickly. The heat up time slows down after awhile too...And I don't even straighten my hair very often, usually just my bangs.
I love it, but it's time to move onto a different product. I can't afford to keep replacing this straightener.

I had this product for around two or three years, and just recently it completely died. Right before that, it would be very temperamental and wouldn't turn on sometimes. I'm definitely buying a different brand now.
